Ancient Wisdom warmly greets you all Today we will discuss
a topic that causes great fear among many modern people
Even questioning whether their own mind might be troubled
But in reality this is a blessing bestowed by heaven a unique fate that has opened a special path just for you
The theme is loneliness
Today's society exhibits a very strange phenomenon even
one that could be described as pathological It seems everyone is afraid of being alone
By the weekend if the phone doesn't ring and no friends invite me out to eat
If I don't sing a few mixed songs I just can't settle down
When I get home at night I have to turn the TV up loud so that if no one
comes to visit I won’t feel
abandoned by the world I won’t feel like a failure
I'm lonely and nobody needs me
Many people I see look deeply
worried They say I'm too introverted not sociable—am I sick
Should you go see a psychologist learn
communication skills or learn how
to fit in I'm telling you absolutely not It's completely utterly wrong
In the eyes of the ancient wisdom of the I Ching such
is the type of person who must always cling to the crowd
You have to plunge into the chaos being unable to reconsider even for a moment is truly a sign of illness
That is known as the divine elusive retreat the outward emission of yang energy a
false reflection of inward radiance Conversely those who can quietly remain alone
Not only does it not feel boring but it feels rich and
profound—this is the inner quietude the latent true yang
People like that don't need to consult
a fortune—just by feeling my pulse I can tell
it's deep calm and strong like still water in a deep pond
That is the kind of person who can
accomplish great things one who can live long
and leave a lasting legacy Today I will employ the orthodox reasoning of Dongmi
Combined with the wisdom of the I Ching I
will unravel the two characters for solitary
isolation I will tell you about it
It's never simple why people who dislike excitement often are
That's why truly powerful individuals ultimately choose solitude
If you truly grasp this lesson
you'll realize that the loneliness
you once feared is actually the most valuable remedy in your life
It's even more nourishing than ginseng and deer antler
First we must establish a general framework
This is not merely a matter of personality
but a physiological necessity for survival
The Huangdi Neijing's sixteen characters can be said to
represent the highest essence of health-preserving wisdom
Especially the four characters
of inner spirit
mean your body must be like a loyal guard dog always staying within the body
Within the five viscera and six bowels calm and still
But when you plunge into the bustle
when you raise your cup at the noisy conut table
Saying things that go against your heart
when you scream in the karaoke room to release your emotions
where is your body
Your body has flown out
Worrying about others'
expressions fearing they might be
unhappy worrying about their words fearing they
might speak ill
preoccupied with the illusion
of面子 afraid of losing face
The physician referred to it as a harmonious
disturbance of the mind The imperial ruler instead of attending to
state affairs in the palace ran out into the streets to argue and bicker
The palace lay empty
and thieves of qi and illness swiftly seized
the opportunity to invade
The more someone enjoys excitement
and bustle the weaker
their physical health tends to be their resistance
diminished and their fortune impaired
Their energy constantly
leaks out like a deflated
balloon no matter how hard you try to fill it
What is true solitude
Loneliness is not solitude Solitude is active while loneliness is
passive arising from feeling
empty because no one notices you
That's the attitude of a beggar
Solitude is a choice
closing the door one's own
pulling in the reins the
posture of a sovereign
Loneliness is concentrated energy
like clenching your fist tightly to
unleash greater force like drawing a
bowstring back to
send the arrow farther
A person who enjoys
solitude is like
a high-performance battery always
charging one who can't live without
excitement is like a dead battery
Forever incomplete ultimately
destined to be discarded Now
let's examine the five major
advantages solitude brings
See how these five herbs treat
poverty and mental illness
The first advantage and
also the most fundamental is
It is solitude that enables people to see their
true nature and rediscover their
authentic self In traditional Chinese medicine this is known as the "spirit of introspection "
In the heart of it all it's
called a counter-epoch Modern life
is overly artificial and exhausting At work you're the subordinate
You have to wear
a smiling mask even if inside you're torn apart
a thousand times At home it's your parents
Must appear strong even when内心 has collapsed
On social media you're a dazzling success smiling through it all even though in real
life you're just barely hanging on
The actor played so many roles that
he forgot his own true self It's like
an actor becoming so immersed in a
character that he forgets his real name
Ultimately chaotic personality disorder
Traditional Chinese medicine refers to it as emotional fixation leading to gender identity disturbance
which is the root cause of the illness
When you're constantly caught up in the crowd
Your five senses are dragged by
external circumstances like a puppet
Eyes must watch others' expressions
ears must listen to others' words
You end up saying only what
others want to hear Over
time you no longer know
what you truly think want or like
Only when you silence all external noise do
you have the chance to
hear your inner voice
And that is the first step toward
self-rescue Eyes must constantly
read others' expressions draining one's vital essence and blood
Tai must endure slander
which drains the kidneys and
nerves The mouth must utter
crude and frivolous words
That harms your vital
energy Your five zang and six
fu organs are all serving
others all being drained
They're all working overtime without receiving extra pay
Only when you're alone
when you close the door
when you turn off that
damn phone In that instant
Your spirit has just begun
returning from afar like a
wayward child finally coming
home Suddenly you'll hear
my heartbeat
hearing my own breath
You begin asking yourself
why you're going through all this
What do I truly
want Who am I
really To help you understand
better I’ll share a story
from my own medical journey
This story is very typical much
like a hermit in an old tale who becomes lost amid the life of
a humble farmer Yet
in modern society
He's a major boss He's well-
known in the electronics industry His
business is huge and he 's
always busy with affairs
Today drinking wine with clients tomorrow
eating meals with officials the day after
that flying abroad for study
When they came to see
me their faces were flushed red
Chatting away cheerfully
Looks very spirited
just like an enthusiastic rooster
But when I took his pulse
The surface appears firm
yet is hollow inside externally strong but
internally empty This is a typical
case of yin deficiency with yang excess
It's a sign of dwindling oil and
extinguished lights I told you don't delude yourself into
thinking you're strong just because you look fine
on the outside You won't be far from collapse
His body was nearly gone His body
was nothing but an
empty shell He couldn't believe it Laughing loudly
he said Don't scare me like that
Sleeping only three hours a day still allows him to play golf Within
less than half a year
he suddenly collapsed at the dinner table
suffering a stroke
Saved his life but half his
body was paralyzed and his mouth was twisted
Those who once surrounded him called
him director boss or just "man "
Every friend from your past
has vanished The house is
empty silent—only your wife
remains long neglected by him
o care for bathe and feed him meals
In that moment
he was forced to be alone
The heavens have hit pause on him
In the quiet hospital room gazing at
the leaves falling outside
the window he began to cry He wondered how he had
risked everything for half his life
How much wine you
drink how many senseless words you speak in the
end what do you really gain Just
half a person utterly unaware
Turn your back on them instead
What I truly want isn 't just a healthy body
but the companionship of family isn't it
After recovering from his
illness though still not fully
regained and walking with a
limp he had completely changed
He severed all ineffective social connections and handed
over the company to professional
managers to run Every day
He spends half
his time alone drinking tea reading books
contemplating nature or simply
basking in the sun in the garden
He told me that thanks to that
illness it forced him into solitude
and it was precisely that solitude that helped him find himself
Though his career was no longer as
prominent as it once was he felt he had finally come to live as his true
self and at last knew who he truly was
Don't wait until a
stroke bankruptcy or a broken family
forces you to live alone—
the cost is far too high
You must actively embrace solitude Solitude is like
a sonar
device for the soul When you awaken
greed fear of loss vanity and deep-seated envy will
become as clearly visible as
stones on an ultrasound screen
No place to
hide Only when you see clearly can you heal
only then can you cleanse the clutter from your mind
If you're always
surrounded by noise
the chaos will mask
your underlying illness You'll think
everyone's like that So am I It's completely normal
Everyone desires so do I Everyone
pushes in Until one day illness
strikes with terrifying force
even a fairy cannot save you
Therefore
set aside one hour each day for yourself alone
Not to stare blankly
not to sleep
but to turn inward
Observe the rise and fall of thoughts
without resistance without fear
Gradually you will discover your true
self your soul's
essence slowly emerging
That crossroads is calm and
joyful needing no external
conditions to feel complete Next
we discuss the second advantage
Loneliness can accumulate energy
This is the knowledge related to the divine
In the I Ching
the first hexagram is Qian
The first sign is a hidden dragon
artifact Many people think a hidden dragon lacks
strength is
easily pushed around and is unlucky
But it's wrong The hidden dragon is
gathering strength for its moment honing its inner
cultivation beneath the
water amassing power for a
single decisive move One must understand that
Diplomacy is a display of prestige
while solitary study is the accumulation
of character And remember a fundamental
law of physics: energy is conserved
Your vitality 即 spiritual
energy is limited You have only
one tank of gas
each day and once it's used up it's gone
Out there you laugh loudly rage
scheme and flatter
others—everything is
just a fire to burn yourself out
The bigger the fire the more it consumes
The more quickly the gas runs out the more
rapidly one's vitality depletes Traditional Chinese Medicine states that excessive talking injures Qi a sallow
complexion harms the body
and overexertion damages the bones
In social interactions
all three of these demands are constantly present: you
must keep talking read
others' expressions
and keep standing to serve without pause
You think you're building relationships but in reality
you're draining your energy
siphoning off your life force
exchanging genuine relationships for virtual ones especially ineffective social
interactions with a group of people who are
otherwise unengaged unless they've been drinking
If not drunk
those words would
never be spoken in a lifetime
They harm and deceive each other exhausting their vital energy
In Traditional Chinese Medicine this is called depletion of true yang
To read is to extinguish
the flame to seal
the womb All animals in winter sleep through the cold
Why do animals hibernate
Since winter is the season of storage the
body must gather and conserve
energy internally protect the internal organs and prepare
for the springtime of growth and renewal
If winter still dances
outdoors spring will die
People are the same If they
are constantly generating and socializing throughout the four seasons with no time
for storing
or introspection no time to be alone
en the holy water will block
Nao is the sea of marrow
when the marrow dries the nao becomes empty
That's why you'll see people
constantly submerged in drunken revelry
Middle age often brings diminished mental sharpness slowed reactions and
declining memory so words often slip from one's mind
as they're about to be spoken
even developing severe cognitive decline at an early age
Because the battery had been completely drained by
them it could no longer be recharged
Look at the people who are truly
Throughout history there have been great cultivators yet how they
were tempered
remains a profound humiliation as exemplified by
Sima Xian and Zhao Gongxing
The man had usually collapsed
—suicidal
or psychologically twisted in resentment But not
him He was imprisoned in jail
It was absolute solitude total
isolation No one paid attention everyone looked down on
her It was precisely in this extreme loneliness tha
The energy had nowhere to dissipate
so it all turned inward He poured
his entire spirit and
vitality into the brush writing the chronicle
Modern people work during the day exhausted
and then spend their evenings scrolling through
their phones watching short videos and playing
games Scrolling through phones in reality
It's also a form of virtual social interaction seeking
connection through extroversion Eyes locked
onto the screen unable to look away
The spirit was swept away by
chaotic streams of information sucked into the
digital glow It was a silent depletion
It's even more harmful than
social drinking because you act
unconsciously Therefore I teach you
a simple method to close the gate
Each evening when coming home
or during weekends try putting your phone away in
another room turning off the TV and
temporarily disconnecting from the internet
Even just sitting still reading a few pages of ancient books
seemingly dry and dull practicing
calligraphy or tidying up the house
At first you'll feel restless
like a addict your mind cluttered your hands itching to grab your phone
you'll just have to忍
It's a restless fire
within a relentless
craving Just try for ten minutes
When you can sit still for an hour without a phone without
speaking and without inner turmoil congratulations
—your kidney essence is strong
It started to take hold easily energy began to flow
back The next morning
waking up you'd feel better than
after ten straight hours of sleep
Sharp eyes clear mind
That is the nourishment found in solitude
We've discussed the first two benefits
of solitude First it helps you see
clearly who you truly are Second it helps you replenish what you've lost
But that is merely the foundation of self-
preservation the first step on a long journey
The benefits of solitude go far beyond that
It also helps you cultivate inner strength
A diamond-like indestructible
heart steadfast determination
and the awakening of
heavenly and earthly wisdom namely wisdom
Why is it said that innate existence is destroyed
Why is it said that awakened existence is vid
Great entrepreneurs
prominent political figures before making decisions
A great undertaking they shut themselves away in
seclusion even retreating into mountains and forests for several
days They are not traveling
for leisure but seeking to draw upon the power of nature
connecting to higher wisdom
First let's discuss the third advantage
solitude cultivates steadfastness
What is steadfastness
The physician says the
kidney governs the will will
means direction of mind and
willpower is steadfastness
When kidney energy is abundant the mind's direction is firm and
the will is as solid as a rock
No matter the storms outside no matter what others
say once the path is chosen
even demons will walk it to the end
Conversely the cautious are easily caught
Crazy about holding onto air crazy
about self-disorder Today hearing the wind
I think it'll rain tomorrow seeing others
invest and make money I feel jealous
A pair
in difficulty yet still wants to quit and change direction
They're like the first blade of grass
swaying at the slightest breeze
A lifetime of digging wells without ever finding water
because giving up halfway out of discouragement led
to changing spots First and foremost one must understand that
Loneliness is my fire warmth is my skin Today's society is
full of hollow illusions
As soon as you open your phone you're bombarded with content about beautiful
women supercars instant wealth and
all sorts of sensationalized clickbait
Every day you immerse yourself in
that stream of information your mind becomes consumed
by it—like a fire smoldering beneath the surface constantly burning with inner heat
You'll worry feel anxious believe you're not good enough want more and
fear that taking a single
step too slowly means losing out
It is the burning of life
itself The mind is scorched to
the point of restlessness
Loneliness is like a cold pond
When you sever external connections
facing the wall alone
the flame of illusion lingers yet no new fuel is added
Chaotic information keeps flowing
in Gradually the fire weakens
and cool vapor begins to rise
This is known as
the fire's essence
Have you ever seen blacksmithing Red-hot iron must
be plunged into cold water
to become hard and sharp
Only steel tempered in fire becomes
good steel Only those who undergo solitude and emerge transformed are
true masters Look at one of those people
With great mental fortitude
in history Wang
Yangming was sent to Longchang in Guizhou
Back then Guizhou was a harsh and desolate place If there was no shelter they built makeshift
huts if there was no
food they cleared land and started farming
and still face venomous snakes
fierce beasts and illness
In such extreme
and solitary circumstances what did he do
He practiced the deepest cultivation even
placing a stone coffin inside to contemplate
the mysteries of life
and death Day and night he remained fully aware and alert
Silent conversing with the heavens and the
earth The ordinary man would have gone mad but he
did not In the deepest solitude
He cultivated his mind into an unbreakable
diamond One night he suddenly attained profound
enlightenment exclaiming "The sage
knows the Way—my nature is self-sufficient "
No external seeking is necessary
That is a great revelation
Can such determination be cultivated over a wine table
raising and exchanging cups without pause
Can I scream in the karaoke room if I can
Can I blend in
with fake social rituals and still succeed
Absolutely not
Only in absolute solitude when calling to
heaven goes unanswered and pleading to earth
brings no response does the desperate desire to live transform into a fierce longing for the Dao
A new spiritual energy has been forcibly
unleashed Inner strength is the most essential
protective charm modern people need Why are
so many people today suffering from depression
And anxiety Because the
mind has no place to rest
The heart like an orphaned child
wandering aimlessly today clings to this person tomorrow to
something
else Once that person leaves
The moment the foundation
crumbles the heart shatters—you collapse
You must pass through
the dantian to return
the mind to its place within the body the dantian
The Great Learning says: "The mind once settled naturally finds its proper direction "
When you can sit alone
doing nothing yet remain
calm and at ease calmness
itself brings peace
No need for
companionship or comfort Congratulations you have
perfected the golden core
transformation the supreme attainment
Outside wind and rain lash the world
yet no matter how fierce they
cannot dampen your heart What others say how
they look at you—none
of it matters anymore
because you know who you are and
where you're going
Next is the fourth stage:
solitude elevates wisdom
Note that
intelligence is not
knowledge nor is it cunning
Knowledge comes from outside a
dead thing you
can look up online
Wisdom is internal
a living thing
that grows from the depth of life
Tendon marrow generates bone marrow
and its disorder harms the marrow
Where does wisdom come from
From the marrow generated by the
kidney essence You'll find that
excitement makes people foolish
Even the most intelligent people
can act foolishly in groups When among
crowds intelligence tends to decline a
phenomenon known as collective stupidity
erd effect
You say what others say
you laugh when they laugh
even if you don’t know why
Blindly following in a state of confusion
Tong Mi refers to it as the blind heart orifice
a blocked energy obstructing the heart orifice
The essence of the
process is unblocking the channels When you regain consciousness
expel external stagnation to allow the
kidney energy to fully generate marrow
Yet as it rises in clamor the great uproar becomes
clear and agile The ancients said "Calmness
reveals one's true spirit "
You suddenly see through the true nature of many things
Observe the quantities clearly
Before leaving the mountain
he lived in Long Cương Alley Nam Dương
What is he doing Not
drinking and boasting but plowing
fields reading books observing the world
and contemplating
strategies for governing the state
Studying military strategy
Because removed from the crowd
one sees the bigger picture clearly
If one were to constantly struggle within the political arena of Jingzhou the mind would
already be overwhelmed with petty intrigues
How does one write about loyal
devotion to a cause Liu Bei visited the
thatched cottage three times—this was no ordinary farmer
Yet he was a wise one who
had perfected his cultivation in solitude Those
years were the immense treasury of
wisdom he had accumulated for himself
Many people think reading history is a waste
of time just sitting around daydreaming —what
good is that Wrong Tràng Tử spoke
of the futility of procrastination
The large tree
unsuitable for timber was
left uncut thus living long
to provide shade those seemingly useless periods
in fact were its greatest strength
The new is the deepest part of you
the place where wisdom quietly grows
That very useless thing scorned
by the worldly was left uncut by anyone in the
end it grew into a
mighty tree sheltering
countless people from rain and sun
That's the real purpose When you're
alone and lost in thought seemingly
doing nothing your mind is actually
carrying out important processes
Reorganize the fragmented pieces
of information deep within the layer
The subconscious is operating
and connecting at high speed
Many great inventions
countless brilliant business
ideas arise during
daydreaming walking or bathing
meaning in a state of solitude
Newton was alone when the apple fell
on his head Einstein was alone when he
conceived relativity
The Buddha attained
enlightenment beneath the bodhi tree
Loneliness is the most
fertile ground for the mind
to grow Ultimately we speak
of the fifth advantage
It is the most advanced Solitude
can achieve a profound
state of mind What is this state of
mind It is your inner capacity
The depth of one's inner strength lies in how
much it can hold
and endure The Book of Changes says "The earth's power is boundless "
A noble person cultivates virtue to nurture
all things Why can the earth support
all living beings Because
the earth is steady and heavy silent and without words
If you're constantly fidgeting like a monkey
your restlessness makes anything you
carry on your back fall right off
Meditation helps you detach from the
cluttered chaos of
everyday life It's like sitting in an airplane
When you rise ten
thousand meters into the sky
The skyscrapers beneath the ground now seem like tiny Lego blocks
Worldly worries and disputes shrink
to insignificant specks of dust
That's called shifting
perspective—among the
crowd you only see trivial
squabbles over nothing
In solitude you face the vast expanse of heaven and earth
where the profound mystery of life and death
the ever-changing transformations of past and
present completely alter the celestial configuration
Look at Zhang Liang of the Han dynasty
When Liu Bang unified the realm he
rewarded his loyal ministers Han Xin was executed
Peng Yue was put to death
Many of the founding loyal ministers met unfortunate ends
Zhang Liang was unharmed and safe
even granted the title of
Marquis of Liu known as Shan Zhong Why Because he
understood the Dao of advancement and retreat
There was a grand transformation When
fame and reputation were established
he chose to shut himself
away for spiritual cultivation dedicating himself
to solitary practice He vowed to远离 worldly affairs
Adoption through private agreement
Others think he's foolish
In truth he is the wisest
In solitude he sees through the law of birds' departure
When the roof collapses the rabbit dies when the
dog is cooked it's already too late
You know that if
you don 't retreat in time you'll be crushed That far-reaching
boundless gaze can only be forged through such trials
In the profound and silent stillness of solitude
The farmer had never left his village his entire life
Day after day he
chatted with neighbors about every little thing
His world was limited to just three acres of farmland
Here are the oxen
The stork flies across the vast sea
Its manner is to soar nine ten thousand miles upward
Loneliness is the ladder
elps you climb out of the well
It shows you that life is not just about
earning money having children getting by day after day
but also carries far-reaching
and profound significance
With that broad perspective you'll handle life's challenges with ease
cutting through them as effortlessly
as slicing an ox with a sharp knife
You're more than capable
of managing it You become compassionate and
grounded looking down from such a
height as if at children playing a game
No longer holding on
Here we conclude What does
solitude offer you It helps you
see your true nature and
rediscover your authentic self
It helps you
accumulate energy and nourish your spirit
It helps you
cultivate unwavering determination as steadfast as a mountain It
enhances wisdom and fills the
marrow of your brain with vitality
Ultimately it achieves a grand vision
teaching you to think at a higher level
These five principles are priceless treasures
of life
But someone is bound to ask I understand the principle I believe it yet
whenever I'm alone I panic
When still the mind races
with random thoughts—what should I
do Is there a specific method
to learn how to enjoy solitude
Isn't it better than just enduring loneliness
A very good question
Reading history isn't about locking yourself in a dark room
That's not cultivation
But it is punishment Reading
history must be
enjoyment a living
art requiring practice step by
step Today I am speaking to you
e three-step method for reading history
high-quality historical reading The three
steps are like three rungs on a ladder
advancing gradually step by step The first step in
reading history
It's not about cultivating the mind right
away but rather
cultivating the body first
Many people even when alone
begin to lose their mental clarity and feel anxious
Due to blocked meridians
and stagnant qi and blood
the body feels uncomfortable
making it impossible for the mind
to settle Tong Mei said "When the body is at peace the Dao naturally manifests "
If the body is restless the great
Dao will be hard to attain The first principle is called
From today onward dedicate at least
30 minutes each day solely for
yourself—whether in the early morning or before bed
Find a firm chair
or sit cross-legged on the mat
First pay attention to your posture
Sit only one-third of the way forward on the chair
Thus the natural angle of the
thigh bends inward The spine will
naturally straighten to maintain
balance If you lie flat on a soft sofa
That is dispersing qi the act of scattering and grinding
But when you stand upright
that is gathering qi stabilizing and invigorating yang energy
Dou Mei said
The back spine is
where the Du Meridian passes through the sea of
yang energies When you stand upright yang
energy ascends along the Du Meridian
The natural spirit is revitalized
The second point is
to relax your shoulders let them drop don 't
tense up or hunch them tightly
Shoulders loose and relaxed
Then the fresh air naturally sinks and spreads out
The third point is visual fixation:
gently close your eyes or slightly
lower your eyelids and softly gaze
downward toward the tip of your nose
called licking water
This method produces inward reflective
effectiveness The eyes are the light of
the torch when they do not gaze outward the spiritual light naturally licks inward
No more wandering thoughts
When you hold that posture still
you may initially feel tired in some areas
numb in others
Itched intensely making it very hard to stay still
You must endure it
This is long-standing stagnation of qi and blood
now surging into the site of the illness
It is the body's self-regulating and self-healing nature This
is the first level of the Inner Path
using the body's mirror-like quality
to contain the flow of energy
Just sit still for 15
minutes completely motionless
and your vital energy will begin to consolidate
The initial step in solitary cultivation is
self-cultivation using the golden rooster
sitting meditation to stabilize the body and seal
the kidney energy But sitting still with the body
Just at the very first step of a long journey Many
people will soon face a
major challenge ahead—panic
Mind stays still but thoughts in
head dart about like eels in hot
oil leaping uncontrollably One
moment worrying about tomorrow's rent
wondering whether the other person had glanced at them
wondering whether they were dissatisfied with them In Traditional
Chinese Medicine the heart houses the spirit the lungs house the soul
The liver stores spirit
the spleen stores thought
Mental agitation arises from disordered qi
when qi is chaotic the spirit disperses
Therefore the second step of internal alchemy is to use breath to regulate the body's vital
energy and gather scattered spirit
This practice is known as "breath meditation "
also a form of
deep meditative breathing in Daoism
Based on the posture of sitting upright
Shift your attention from the chaotic
mind down to the lower abdomen
the exact location of the dantian three inches below the navel
The first step is to inhale deeply through the nose not through the mouth
The mouth is for eating while the nose
is connected to the lungs and organs
Imagine the belly as an old
tank expanding with each
breath The key point is that
the belly expands not the chest
Many people breathe shallowly into
their chests—that's anxious breathing
We need deep
long slow and even breathing
The concept of drawing the breath deep down as far as
the soles of the feet Zhuangzi said "The true
person's breath reaches the heels " Ordinary
people breathe only up to the throat and no further
The enlightened person breathes
deeply all the way down to the soles of the feet establishing a solid
foundation The second step is to exhale slowly through the
nose imagining the abdomen sinking inward
like a pool shrinking down or
a deflating balloon Push out
all the trapped air resentment
anxiety and emotional clutter
Exhale with that long breath
Step three is counting the breaths
to prevent the mind from wandering too far
Inhale silently counting one exhale counting two count up to ten
and then start over If you
accidentally count wrong or lose focus
Just recognize and begin again
without blame This step is
extremely important—it's physical-level mind-body therapy
Lung governs the dispersion of qi which belongs to metal
Kidneys govern the reception of qi which belongs to water
Deep prolonged breathing promotes the
mutual generation of metal and water
The lungs draw pure air down from the heavens nourishing the kidneys below
Inhale and draw energy to the dantian
This activates the nervous
system the sympathetic nervous system and
shifts you from a state of fight
It fled into a state of
relaxation and recovery
Your palms will grow warm
your soles will gradually heat up and even the
Mingmen area at the back of your
lower spine will feel warm This is yang energy
The spark of life ignites
dispelling cold and dampness
At this moment the poison no longer brings loneliness
but instead become immersed in a profound
spiritual experience You feel an unprecedented sense of clarity
as if your entire being opens up breathing in the energy of heaven and earth
When the body is at ease breathing is
smooth and the final step is cultivating
the mind This is the essence of solitary
practice seeing clearly one's true nature
and enhance intelligence
At this moment the mind is alert and calm like a mirror freshly wiped clean
free from dust
Seize this precious moment to deeply reflect within
yourself This practice is
known as "tam vấn tu tâm "
Once breathing had stabilized he
seriously asked
himself three questions The first one: Who
am I really
Strip away social status and titles
You are no longer a manager or
director Shed your family identity
you are no longer a father or
mother Let go of others' judgments
You are no longer the
good person or the
villain they claim you are So who is the life breathing and feeling right now You
will come to see yourself stripped bare
That kind of person doesn't need
much material wealth or vanity
to prove anything Such a person is
inherently complete and fully fulfilled
You inherently possess
infinite value needing to please no one You
are incredibly precious in and of yourself
Question two
is deep within your heart
what do you truly desire
Not what society advertises
You're told you must buy a house and
a car Not because your parents expect you to achieve fame and fortune Not
because you see others having something
Then you too desire that thing
And what is the most fundamental and instinctive longing
from the very core of your soul
It might just be a healthy
body It might just be a little
time—freedom for the soul It
might simply be peace and quiet
sitting down to a warm meal with
family just like the director
who was suddenly possessed
as we mentioned above
After a great ordeal in the solitude
she suddenly awakened to realize
that what she had recklessly pursued
was never truly what her heart desired
Question three is:
How should I live the rest of my life
If life is finite
if impermanence
can come at any moment
If in the end I must still
leave this world alone how
should I live in the days
ahead so as not to waste them
I continue to go with the flow
through days and
months or mustering
the courage to do
truly meaningful things for myself and for others
These fundamental questions could never
arise amid the clatter of glasses
at a lively gathering or the buzz of a festive
dinner Only in a moment of stillness
of profound introspection
the answer belongs solely to you
naturally arises from the depths of your heart
That is your destiny
When you find your destiny
You will have unwavering determination
No matter how chaotic the outside world
becomes no matter what others say you
will always know where you are headed
And what to
do This is the principle of gentle persistence which
leads to calmness and calmness leads to peace
By cultivating energy one attains energy by attaining energy one gains power
After these three steps of practice
we elevate our level of awareness
to the next stage
What is the highest level of solitude It
is a phrase from the I Ching
Many people hearing the term "quần
long vô thủ" immediately assume
it means chaos leaderless like
scattered sand—completely wrong
To those who understand the principles of
destiny and fate this is great fortune and
supreme blessing—the highest境界 of life The
meaning of this statement is that each drago
Each individual through ceaseless
cultivation achieves perfect self-
sufficiency everyone can stand on their
own with a heart that is fully complete
and self-govern with utmost
discipline When each person becomes a dragon awakening to their true nature
they govern themselves well
and operate in harmony with the natural order
Do we still need an external
leader to issue commands and direct operations No we don't
Each person fulfilling their
duties well and coordinating
harmoniously naturally forms a unified whole
That is the most perfect state of harmony
When you transcend the ordinary through
relentless cultivation transforming
from within outward into a true dragon
You no longer depend on others'
recognition or
praise to prove your
worth You no longer need to seek validation from outside sources
You don't need喧嚣 to fill the emptiness for
your inner self is
already a boundless spring
You are the king of yourself the
high priest of your own life When
such a person gathers they become
a warm flame illuminating others
When scattered they become
solitary stars twinkling in the
sky Among the crowd they could blend into the mundane glow
Lived harmoniously without ostentation—
that is the hidden wisdom of Yüan Alone
they can stand at the
peak of heaven and
earth drawing nourishment from solitude
Creating miracles of life—this is the transcendent
demeanor of a dragon soaring in the heavens
the dragon's virtue bending and flexing with the
times embodying a perfectly fulfilled existence
If you're feeling lonely sincerely
congratulate yourself for you're
going through the most important and
valuable transformation of your life
You've transformed from a
mere sheep that only knew to follow the dragon's path into a dragon capable
of roaming the heavens alone
Chaos is the opiate for Fan Fu solitude is
the forge for Saint Xian exhaustion
is the fate of the ordinary
Accumulation is the capital of
those who see far ahead solitude
is the finest private school the
heavens have arranged for you
It shuts the outer door of desire
yet opens the inner
door of awakening
it gives you the chance to pause to
mend a body worn thin from overuse
Purify your soul heavy with earthly
dust from today onward cherish
your moments of solitude when you
can simply sit in stillness alone
Doing nothing yet the heart remains
full as if warm light radiates from
within means you
have already won—you
have reclaimed control over your life
regain mastery over your mind
reclaim the fundamental foundation
to secure your own destiny
in this complex world
I hope each person becomes
A person of uncommon stature dares
to embrace solitude knows how to
relish it and
skillfully harnesses it
during those quiet reflective moments
