Hi everyone! Look at this beautiful view. We are not far from the village and actually today is the special day in our village. We call it Fête des Potagers. In English you would probably translate it like a day of gardening. I want to share with you the moments, you know, the moments of our village life but I think first of all I should explain you a little more about myself and about how we ended to live in the village like this. So we lived in Thailand for five years and there I've met my husband Chris who is a dive instructor and after a few years of life in Asia we decided to move and we decided to go back to his place. Originally he's from Côte d'Azur. We stayed in Montaigne for a couple of years and we were looking for a house to buy and the prices they're just crazy. I mean it's really expensive and they are rising and rising so we were looking for anything we can afford and actually it was our friend from Thailand who knew that our house, this house is for sale. You know how world is small, you can't even imagine how really we visited this house. I fell in love in the first second and we did all necessary to get the mortgage and but in France you say c'était la ruine. It was like a ruin. You say it in English maybe as well. So we had to renovate it like completely. There were no even the windows, no proper doors and even inside we had a small tree where our living area now. So yeah it was a quite a tough time of renovation and that was little but we've done it almost. Maybe I will find some photos the house before and I will do like a before and after. So that's how we are here now and let's go back to the village and watch the party. We are arriving to the main square of our village and today we have a special local market from the morning. So here you can buy lots of vegetables and fruits from the local gardens and souvenir. So look how decorated our village. It's a real party today. We're gonna go home first to put the vegetables that we just bought at home and then we will prepare and go to this party. So there is just the sign just close to our house that upstairs there are some activities for the kids. We're gonna check it out later. First of all this is our house. We're gonna prepare ourselves to go out. Here in the square of city hall you can see all objects from the past that the people used so and also the photos. So on these photos you can see how the village was look like before. This is our main square with lots of animals. The people kept their animals on the basements. Like this they kept the house warm. So you can look back on the past and see all changes. But it didn't change a lot because the village is protected and even to paint you have to choose the same color and to build you have to build with the same material. So that's why. We have two square in the village so the main square and now we are going to the square close to the chateau. It's like a castle, a little castle and there are lots of activities for the kids. And all these paintings you see around the village is from school so the kids was preparing for this festival and they did a good job. This is our old church church of Saint Barthélemy and it's under renovation as you can see. And here the party is already started. I see lots of snacks and drinks that you can take from here and I see all my neighborhoods and probably there are some tourists as well and and some people from Montaigne who knew about our festival and donkeys like in the past. We have a lot of kids in our village as the school they kept school open and today they are really enjoying their day. And there was some drinks not only for kids and for the parents. Now we will take a ride on the donkey. And here we go inside the village. Such a fun day today. Maybe not for the donkey. So here again we are passing our old church. Very beautiful when they will finish renovation. You could visit it. Now it's closed most of the time. So and here you see these rocks so they some houses was built right on the rocks. And in front of the church you can see this yellow this is the little chapel dated from 15th century. And we are back to main square. Here we have a DJ and soon we gonna dance with all our neighbors. They became our friends already. We are on a Place du Chateau. It's a square near the chateau. And here you can see also lots of photos from the past and all everybody was recognizing their houses. Here you can take some plants, lemons from the garden and the eggs from also from from the neighbors. And you just put some coins whatever you you wish to to leave. And it's free to take. And this is our chateau. One day I will walk you inside. The party is over and the life in the village back to usual, calm and peaceful. We have some figs and and plums. Growing around the village.
