What started as a peaceful day in our little village took an unexpected turn.
A frightened cat began visiting our terrace, coming down from the rooftops for food and water. Day by day, she started staying longer and becoming more comfortable around us — although she still keeps her distance, and I haven’t even been able to pet her once.
Then, just as we were preparing dinner, a forest fire broke out nearby. We watched from our terrace as villagers came outside, firefighters worked to contain the flames, and helicopters flew overhead to fight the fire.
Later that night, a powerful storm arrived, bringing heavy rain, thunder and lightning. By the next morning, the sky was blue again, the village was peaceful, and our little visitor was still there.
A quiet story about village life, unexpected moments, kindness, and a little cat who somehow became part of our everyday life. ❤️

It's a gorgeous morning again. I have a little dizziness because, you know,
after I announced that the book is ready I fell sick. And because the body, like, answering, you
know, lots of stress and stuff. And it's so beautiful today. I'm actually looking here for someone.
I have an everyday visitor. Where is she? Well, I think it's she.
Well, today simply will be a cleaning day.
All the toys and... And here she is, our mysterious visitor.
We live in medieval village and we have a lot of cats everywhere. And even though some of them
have their owners, they live most of the time, like, on the streets and on the roofs of our
old stone houses. And they do have a lot of things to do in all our basements.
But there is something very special about this cat. First of all, we never saw her.
We do know every single cat, like, not only in the village but in surrounding area.
And this one came to us one single night, very late night, you know, that I'm working
mostly at night time. And I was sitting and working, everything was as usual. And then
I just saw this cat sit in front of me and was staring at me. Like, I was like, okay, hello,
welcome. She was very careful, keeping the distance. But we spent, like, the whole evening
together. And the next morning, I saw her on the roof again. And then in the evening, and
she was always watching us and observing us right in front of the house. And it was certain that
she's not going away. She was observing every single thing that we do. Then the second night
passed. And the next day, she came very close. And we tried to give her some food.
She was very scared. And the way she took it,
the way she took it and run away on back to the roof, it was look like it is wild cat.
And probably she live on the roofs. But I asked a few neighbors around, nobody know her.
And it was obvious that she's hungry and thirsty. You know, our house is from 17th century,
and our village is from middle age. And when you live in a place like this, you start to believe.
You start to believe in the things like that maybe in her previous lives, she lived in the house.
Because the way how she entered the house that first night, I felt like she was looking for it.
And she finally found it. And she was like saying, I'm here. A couple of days pass, and we
put her water and food. But she never ate like in our presence. She was very scared.
She would eat so quickly. And then she would retreat back into the roofs, keeping her distance
while watching us the whole time.
Small fish. Matthew. Matthew's catch. This is the sea. This is the river. And I just boiled a few little ones for our nougat.
Come, come, come, come, come.
It's been already one week that we are like this. When you will come? When you will come to me?
Where did you come from little one? And where are your owners?
I think it's time to print a little poster with your photo. And ask everyone in the village if
they recognize you, so we can find your family. So now you have a better idea why there is the cat
in the house. And you were right by saying, wait, what? They have a cat? No, we don't.
I haven't been able to pet her even once. The guys went to spearfishing.
So maybe you will have some, maybe you will have some fish. Yes, today is the cleaning day.
Coming, she's coming. Everything was so peaceful. We were getting ready for dinner, enjoying a quiet
evening, when suddenly everything changed. From our terrace we could see smoke rising from the hills.
And before long helicopters were flying back and forth, working to contain the fire.
It was very scary to watch from so close. All the villagers came outside to see what was
happening. Nobody really knew how the situation will turn out. And from our terrace we could see
the smoke. Helicopters were flying overhead, working alongside the firefighters. It was quite
scary watching everything. Animals in the forest, so many. Honestly, I can't even imagine what it must
be like for all the people who have been affected by the devastating wildfires this year.
Because just watching it from our terrace is already frightening enough. And it made me realize
how terrifying it must be when your home and everything you have is actually at risk.
The firefighters and helicopters managed to get the fire under control.
Eventually everything became calm again.
And thankfully this story had a happy ending.
In the meanwhile we are we're still looking for for her family and Matt still have lots of fish to
share. And it's still very hot too, so I'm happy that she's entering the house. Now she's not scared.
And yeah, we are waiting like rain every night.
There is some clouds sometime like in a day when the fire were on the hills.
They're like heavy clouds, but it's not raining and it's very very heavy and hot.
Where you come from my little one? Did you live here before?
Oh my god!
Finally the rain that we were waiting for
weeks and weeks is here. And later at night we had like a very heavy rain.
And all we were thinking is where is she? She was not at home. A huge storm rolled in
right over the village and the whole coast with heavy rain, thunder and lightning sparkling
incredibly close to us. It was intense, loud and honestly a little frightening.
We couldn't sleep until almost five in the morning. The next morning it was hard to believe
it was the same place. The storm had completely passed and the sky was blue again
with the sun shining over the village. In the morning we found the cat at the terrace and
she was so happy to see us that I finally touched her. I think we were so happy to see each other.
She was even happy to play with us. Later we headed down to the town and but you know
the storm had definitely left its mark. The road was covered with rocks and
that falling from the mountain during the heavy rain happened very often.
I don't think she's one year old.
She seems to be slowly making herself at home now. Little by little she's becoming more
comfortable with us, letting us get closer, playing. We still don't know where she came from
or what her story is. Maybe one day we'll find her family but for now we are here for her.
We'll feed her, give her water, keep her safe and take care of her as long as she needs us.
Maybe she didn't find us by accident. Maybe sometimes you don't choose who comes into your
life. You simply open the door, offer a little kindness and see where the story takes you.
