Everybody, welcome to Surfer Travels. I'm Randy. And I'm Diane. And a bell's going off.
We're here at the park? Plant? Plant? Plant? We're here today in Plant City at the Strawberry
Festival in Florida. Yeah, this is the Florida Strawberry Festival. We've never been here.
We thought we'd pick a weekday to come here and it is packed. So, I guess any day is busy. Glad
we didn't come on the weekend. I know, really. So, we're going to wander around and see what
there is to see at this festival. I'm sure there's strawberries and strawberry shortcake
and other types of foods and crafts and shows and whatever. So, we're going to go check some
of this stuff out. So, come along with us. Okay. I don't know if this is the main midway or what,
but there's plenty of food vendors right along here. When we started this morning, the sun was
behind clouds. And now that we got here, it is sunny and warm. Diane's found some crafts to check
out. Curses. Curses? All sizes. Now, there was a sign when we came in that says you cannot bring
your pets here. So, no dogs or cats or whatever you might be traveling with. So, keep that in
mind if you come. And it's just too crowded for dogs anyway. So, don't bring your dog. All kinds
of holiday flags. Do we need a holiday flag? Any cats and pumpkins? I thought they had a chow
chow flag. Pink flamingos. Look at that. Yeah. That's what we need. There's strawberry crafts.
Hair ribbons. Everything's strawberries.
It's a strawberry festival. That's true. There's what you need.
Strawberry glasses. Strawberry sunglasses. That's sort of like a strawberry Mickey.
The bags are pretty. Yeah.
Strawberry crunch nachos. Okay. I haven't had that before.
Kind of a kid's stuff.
Expo Hall. We're heading into there. Hot tubs. Saunas. Hot tubs are over here.
I'm going to keep you up at night.
Here you go.
Wow. A manual clock. Glitter tattoos. Do we need a glitter tattoo?
Strawberry earrings. Look at that. More jewelry.
I'm going to get some for Marilee for her birthday.
All your favorite carnival stuff. These food, right?
Pickle barrel. Sirloin tips. Grilled cheese. Here you go. Strawberry shortcake on a donut.
Making the donuts. Got your farm equipment so you can grow your strawberries.
Small farms. This is the line for corn dogs. They must be pretty good. Swap fried noodles.
When it first hit. Now we picked up some fair food. It's not anymore. I got the
London broil sandwich and Diane got a chicken Greek pita.
Pretty good. Some Monarch. How about a flamingo for the Airstream?
More strawberry items. Oh, I forgot my drink. It's probably back there. Your drink.
Look, I guess. Feel my. Got something on my cover. Feel it. What? Feel my cover. Yeah.
Clean it. Lance City has a railroad museum. Something to visit. I always like a good
railroad museum. All kinds of lawn equipment. Use that stuff to clean your Airstream.
Now we found the strawberries.
Yeah, you're going to. There's a line. Put your Farmers of America display.
More strawberries. More strawberry displays.
So this is where you go to get your strawberry shortcake right over here. Make your own, huh?
Seems to be quite a line. Do you want to get in line for it? Yeah, we'll get in line.
I'll take a biscuit. Thank you. All right. So you got your fair share of whipped cream.
Don't dig in. Pick up my strawberry shortcake.
All right. So leave a comment below. Would you eat pickled pizza? Let me know.
Would you eat pickled pizza? I don't know. Maybe I'll stand up a slice. I don't know
about a whole thing. Plus they have pickled penne pasta. Oh, I think for me it's a hard no.
No pickled pizza for this guy. I know. I'm heading towards a gift shop.
Like there isn't enough shopping already, but we'll find more. Mr. Berry.
Artists that played here. Musical artists that played here.
Strawberry Festival Queens. Look, you can see the 80s. Big hair. Yeah. We finished our
afternoon at the Strawberry Festival in Plant, Florida. Yeah. So let's see. My feet are tired.
I'm full of food. And then I've seen everything I think I wanted to see.
So I guess I had a good time. Spent some money on other things besides food.
Yeah. Mostly for other people too. Yeah. Got delicious strawberry shortcake. Yeah. The
strawberry shortcake was pretty good. And you get to make it your own. So you can put as many
strawberries on it as you want. Or as few and as much whipped cream as you want. Depending on what
your preference is. Right. My preference is a lot of whipped cream. A lot of whipped cream. Okay. So
it was very good. Yeah. So we're headed home now and see what Lincoln's been up to. Yep. I think
we've been gone away long enough. Hopefully you can hear us. The wind has picked up. So
we're on our way back. But we didn't have any rain today, thankfully. Yeah. Made it back to
the truck. There it is. And a couple things about the Strawberry Festival. This year it costs $15
to get in per person. For adults. For adults. There's no discount for seniors. There is for
children. Children. I don't know what the age cutoff was, but I think it was $5.
I think so. Yeah. Parking can vary. We parked a little bit of a distance from this festival and
paid $10. You park a little closer, you're going to spend $20. And they might have a shuttle that
would take you to the, you know, to the main entrance. Right. There was a shuttle running to
the main entrance from where we were parked. So we could have taken that, but we walked it.
What else would you want to say? I don't know. I think we kind of ended, you know, what we did.
We had food. Bought some items. Yeah. Had strawberry shortcake. Yeah. I would say the
big attractions here are the food and the carnival rides. There are some bunch of things that you can
walk around and see that are for sale. I think there were some shows. We didn't really see any,
but I think there was a couple buildings that had music in them. Right. Beyond that, you know,
it's kind of like a state fair. Yeah. The amount of food is really unbelievable. Yeah. Yep. Exactly.
