Forty days ago I began a 120-day Appalachian Comeback.
I had drifted.
 I was overweight — 231.9 pounds on February 7.
 My knee was hurting.
I was limping.
And honestly, I wasn’t sure if I could turn things around.
But something happens when you decide to rebuild discipline.
In the first 40 days, I’ve lost over 12 pounds, started rebuilding strength, and gone from barely walking one mile to slowly pushing toward two miles on the trail.
These are five lessons I’ve learned so far about discipline, food, movement, and how easy it is for a man to drift away from who he once was.
This channel is not just about hiking.
It’s about rebuilding strength, responsibility, and simplicity in a modern world that makes drifting easy.
The goal:
After 120 days, I return to the Appalachian Trail for a 21-day hike.
One step at a time.
Carry less.
Become more.
