Flow, Not Force | What the Snow Taught Me at 55 (Day 21)
I fell in love with snow, rivers, and mountains as a kid. In 1992, I carried 45 pounds across 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail.
Now, at 55, I’m going back — differently.
This comeback isn’t about force. It’s about flow.
Snow begins as water in a cloud. It changes form. It falls one flake at a time.It melts. It becomes a stream. It flows to the sea.
Movement is the key to this Appalachian comeback. Rivers and streams remind me that movement is life.
Two meals a day is structure. No junk food at gas stations is a boundary.Walking/limping with a swollen knee teaches humility.
Going back to the mountains for 21 days isn’t escape. It’s alignment. It's movement. It's having the strength to be on the mountains again.
This comeback will take all of it:
Discipline. Flow. Boundaries. Patience. Healing. One step at a time.
Snow falls one flake at a time. The trail is walked one step at a time. This comeback is rebuilt one decision at a time.
That’s enough.
Carry less.Become more. Walk Your Path Well.
