An 89th-minute Viktor Gyokeres goal before Max Dowman made Premier League history by becoming the competition’s youngest-ever scorer saw us clinch a precious win against Everton at a jubilant Emirates Stadium.
We threw everything at Everton throughout the 90 minutes and Jordan Pickford was kept fairly busy throughout, although the Toffees went closest to getting in front in the first half when Dwight McNeil hit the woodwork after 16 minutes.
But just as it looked like we might have to settle for a frustrating goalless draw for our efforts, a trio of substitutes combined to capitalise on a Pickford mistake as Dowman’s cross hit Piero Hincapie, and Gyokeres tapped home, before Dowman scored a sensational breakaway goal in the final seconds to move us nine points clear of Manchester City after they dropped points at West Ham United.
Is it in towards goal? Super Mendy on the follow-up.
Will break for Bakaio Saka.
Granted shot wide of that bottom corner, but more encouraging stuff by Arsenal.
Here's McNeil who had that chance, now full of energy, full of momentum. McNeil goes for goal!
Moon and Jai forces it wide. The offside flag had gone up against the Senegalese.
Oh, it's an excellent effort!
And there he is again, much more central.
It's a... beaten away by Pickford, the offside flag has gone up.
It's another strong shot.
What's the ball in? That is by Dalman and tapped in by Lloréz.
With just over a minute left of the 90, Lloréz it is who pounces.
And that may well be Arsenal moving 10 points clear.
In by James Garner, away by Lloréz.
Martinelli again, and Dalman can run clear.
And Dalman has Martinelli with him. Dalman's going to go alone.
Dalman to wrap things up for Arsenal.
