Welcome back to the channel. What's up, guys? Let's get into fitness. What? I thought this
was an archery channel or an elk hunting channel. Now this channel sells you hard work. And remember,
fitness is the foundation of a lot of our public land elk hunting success. We don't train year
round just so we're successful one month out of the year. We are looking to be successful
every month out of the year in life. And we want multiple Septembers in our back pocket
so that we have longevity. Trajectory. Join us today. We're going to be working out with some
awesome elk hunters, and we're going to meet the 2024 CrossFit Games winner. Should be a good time.
Here we go. My hybrid Camry. I get 40-something miles to the gallon on this hog. So we are going
to commute over to Liberty Lake, Washington. We're going to go work out with my buddy, Kevin.
It's post-elk season. I don't think you guys even understand, like, I left my house August 25th.
Started hunting August 26th. Didn't get out of the woods till October 6th. And there's not like a
single day I take off from hunting. I'm always hiking, humping the mountains, packing an elk out,
whatever. So I probably left my house at 165 pounds, probably 10% body fat,
walked in the door probably $1.40 at like 4.5% body fat. Like, I'm losing muscle,
I'm losing strength and power. I have great endurance. And I literally got hurt last year
trying to jump right back in where I left off with, like, heavy barbells. Not doing that this
year. So I'm just advertising to you guys right now that I'm going to check my ego at the door.
You too. I'm glad you made it. Looking good. Now, I didn't know you were tricking me into,
like, a bunch of fitness. Hi, I'm Pat. Nice to meet you. Have you met James at the games?
Great to meet you. Nice to meet you. Are you guys Apex partners? Yeah.
Warren. Just through my steel company. Yeah, I'm his business partner. Oh,
okay. Actually, though, that sounds like a joke. How do you guys know each other?
We just work out together. He's an Elk Hunter. I'm an Elk Hunter. He's an Elk Hunter. You should
be an Elk Hunter. That's great. Performance enhancing. He's trying to get me out a few
times. Yeah. It was just like, throw yourself. We watched you at the games. No big deal. That
was incredible. Go to Scotland in two weeks, bro. I'm like in that prep right now. This is
a quick trip. This one is the top 20 in the world, so the 40, so it's more lucrative. So I'm like
trying to really peak for this one. You will. You'll do great. It's fun, though, man. I love
the journey, and you know, you see this gym. It's like so easy to go hard here. You got the best
people in the world around. Is this for your training? I bought a house right here, so I'm
literally two minutes away. We're going to be right here all the time, me and my wife. This
is unreal. Bro, it's unreal. I forgot to tell you, there's a medical facility, so Danica's
probably getting a pharmacy job here, so we'll be able to see each other all day, every day.
Dream. It's perfect. Dream. Yeah, dream. Little separation can be good. He's got married,
though, right? Yeah, like I want to be, I don't see her because she's on her job 50 hours a week,
so I only see her an hour of the day. It's like if I want to go have lunch with her,
that's the best, like not limited. That's cool. You did good, man. That was really fun to watch
you. Thank you, bro. We were cheering for you for sure. You transitioned to some shorts that
look like mine, bro. I mean, these are the ones, too, that James gave us, so most of them are like
that. Yeah. And I'm like, dude. This is a workout brought to you by me, but revised by Kevin. We're
doing Filthy 100. Do it any way you want. Stop. You go, I go, here's what we're doing. I'll show
you the movement standards. So 100 box jumps, 24 inch guys, 20 for the gals, 100 jumping pull-ups,
I don't know.
So 100 jumps, then we're doing kettlebell swings, and they're American, so 35-26,
American kettlebell swings. These sound like a lot of movements in the senior masters today.
Exactly. So knees to elbows, first press, women 35, men 45, and then the next movement
is back extensions with the bar. So we're just coming down here, that's one. Coming down here,
that's two. Wall balls, 10 feet for the guys, 20 pounds, 14 pounds for the women, 9 feet,
100 burpees. So the burpees are like this. You have to get off the ground. It's a burpee.
It's you go, I go.
No, Kevin, I don't want to split it equally. It is capitalism,
and you need to get yours. When you need a rest, I will fill it.
This is not socialism to stop at 10. Here we go.
Good news, guys. I survived that workout with my friends. What a cool training facility.
Honored to meet James. Cannot wait to get more content with him. Legit fit dude right here in
my hometown. His dad's a beast. Kevin Kester's a beast. My buddy, Matt Anderson, by the way,
he's opening a gym in Coeur d'Alene area called Lakeside CrossFit. Opening soon,
be on the lookout for that. Guys, Kester's in his late 50s. Pat was a 60-year-old,
and people are going to comment, I could look that way too if I took steroids. These guys aren't on
steroids. This is the reality of what you could look and perform like if you are consistent,
not only in training, but in your sleep, your recovery, your nutrition. This is the Elk Shape
channel. This channel is dedicated to rising tides. I want to make you better. I don't want
you to watch this channel just so you can learn how to tinker with an arrow or a rest or a site
or pick up some archery tip or learn how to bugle elk or kill them on public land. I want you killing
it in life. I want you to look at yourself in the mirror today. Are you the best version of
yourself right now? If you're not, which none of us are, what can you do today to make yourself
better and build more momentum? Do not push your goals off to 2025. Elevate your game and to
continue to work hard. If you are fortunate enough to call yourself an elk hunter, man, you are
blessed. I can't think of a better activity that holds you accountable, holds you to the flame of
shoot your bow, tune your bow, learn everything about your bow, know how to work on bows,
get elk tags in your pocket, find where the elk live, go to their home field advantage and take
one out, cut it up, throw it on your back, pump it back to your truck, drive home, butcher it,
process it, put it in your freezer, feed your family and know that you sourced it, you trained
for it, all that year round delayed gratification feels pretty good when it finally comes together.
I love you guys. Stay on your grind. Separation's in the preparation.
