เสียงร้อง : แหลม "ตี้ว-ตี้ว" เสียงเตือน "แก๊ก-แก๊ก-แก๊ก"
ถิ่นอาศัยในพื้นที่ภาคเหนือตอนล่าง : ลำคลอง แม่น้ำ แหล่งน้ำธรรมชาติ ทั้งในป่า และที่เปิดโล่ง พบบริเวณแหล่งน้ำชายป่า พบบ่อยในจังหวัดภาคกลางตอนบน

Photographer: Chayata Kummok Meemano Specification: Similar in shape and size to the Great Kingfisher. Brown wings, but grey head. Upper breast has faint brown scale-like markings. Back, wings, and tail are dark blue. Rump is bright blue.
Call: High-pitched "tee-tee". Warning call: "gag-gag-gag".
Habitat in lower northern Thailand: Canals, rivers, natural water sources, both in forests and open areas. Found near forest edges. Common in the upper central provinces.
