Kingfishers are a family of small to medium-sized, brightly colored birds in the order Coraciiformes. Generally, kingfishers refer to several species of birds such as kingfishers, kingfishers, cougars, and red-bellied kingfishers. They are widely distributed, mostly found in tropical Africa, Asia, and Oceania. Alcedinidae has 118 species grouped into 3 subfamilies and 19 genera. All kingfishers have large heads, pointed bills, short legs, and short tails. Most species have bright plumage. Kingfishers eat a wide variety of prey, usually captured by diving down from their perches. Although kingfishers are usually thought to live near rivers and eat fish, many species live far from water and eat small invertebrates. In Indonesia, this family includes species such as kingfishers, kingfishers, kingfishers, cougars, and red-bellied kingfishers. #birds #wildchirpingbirds #chirpingmania #kingfisher #chirpingmanianusantara #birds #alcedines
