On my bike, going in, late season, temps dropping, rain's coming, sleet's coming, snow's coming and I'm trying not to wipe out.
Alright, you're not going to believe this, but my old faithful camera, old handy, my old handycam is not working.
It is done. Zoom not working. So I've took a bunch of pieces of tape off each window so that I can mount this thing.
I'm going to show you what I'm doing. I'm hoping this will work. Oh yeah baby, there we go.
Alright, so it's late season baby, let's go. RX9, getting ready to do it. So pumped, this weather is going to make it happen.
But you're going to get iPhone footage, sorry. And highest bidder goes to my Canon G30 that's filmed everything my whole career.
Let's see how this goes. Look at that, dude. Maybe you need an old handycam to mount it on there.
Alright, here we go. We're going for anything old and what you'd refer to as a cull.
Just got out, here's the spot. Tons of rain, wind, more rain coming.
Seen the buck piling up, I couldn't get the camera on him after I bumped it, but arrow's right there.
This is the little bitty bean plot, maybe an acre and a half, two acres.
They're an awesome spot, rain's coming down, I'm going to try to get in there and get them to the edge before it gets dark.
But what a freaking perfect late season play right there.
Just came through the briars, plot is right up there in the daylight.
And this big old sucker is down right here and he is a freaking toad.
This is an old deer, I've probably got 10 years of history with this buck.
But he is a stud, I'm going to have to get help to get him out.
Wow, broke that front arm right off and went through.
But this is just an old, oh man, look at that.
Let me get in here and show you guys this.
There he is right there, what a freaking old tank.
He is an old buck, went right through the arm, into the heart, bled out right here.
But what a body, holy smokes.
Have to call in some help on this one.
Man, just a total stud eight.
What an incredible night.
We got this guy up here and I was so pumped when this buck came out.
This was such an awesome day.
This morning it was pretty nice, I actually posted a video shooting my bow.
Checked my 20 yard mark, checked my 100 yard mark and told all of you out there to shoot your bows and take advantage of the late season.
If you still have a tag, such an awesome time of the year to take advantage of these nasty cold fronts that all of a sudden move in.
Our temps have dropped 30 degrees, rain started coming, now it's going to be changing over to sleet and snow.
And so I went on a small bean plot that honestly is small enough you could plant with a four wheeler.
And I saw more deer tonight on that small bean plot than I've seen the whole season on any sit.
And saw a couple awesome up and comer bucks, pumped for next year.
But that kind of plays into something that I always say for late season.
I have a late season muzzleloader tag which you can use any primitive weapon, so that's what I use my archery with.
And I tell myself either shoot the oldest buck that I've got and I've got history with, which check this guy marks that box.
Or I really like to hunt a buck that I've never seen before and I don't know and he's just in there to eat.
Because honestly they've made it through the gun seasons, both of them.
And these things will be bigger next year.
So I don't want to shoot a young up and comer during that time.
Honestly those guys get me sometimes during the rut.
But now that I know they've made it through the rut, they've made it through the gun season, the next thing is who's the old boss.
And when this dude came up and I saw the one white eye and the one normal colored eye on the other side of his cape,
I knew this sucker could possibly be the grandfather to that awesome saw blade buck that I shot.
So super pumped, awesome late season hunt, lots of takeaways and probably the best film job I've ever done with my phone.
What an awesome night and RX9 Ultra is on a roll and it snapped off somewhere.
But that T2 absolutely did a number there on that front.
I am just so pumped.
And he definitely made me sweat it out too, getting him out of the nastiest spot he could have ran into and piled up.
What a freaking night.
