Thank you, Mr Speaker. Uh, House Bill 8 69. Uh, this this bill has has it's a
product of many conversations going back the last 2 to 3 years with the
Cabinet for Economic Development. Uh, in Kentucky, we have a buffet, if you
will, of options to attract companies to come to Kentucky or companies that
already exist in Kentucky. Um, incentives that we can give them to
help them grow and add more employees here in Kentucky. Uh, increased wages,
increased jobs. It's a good thing across our state. Um, like I said,
we've had conversations myself. Um, the gentleman from Rock Castle, the
gentleman from Todd, the gentleman from Russell, um, Secretary Noel, uh, was
at the table today in the in the committee meeting. Um, and the House
Bill 8 69 is a product of those conversations the last 2 to 3 years.
Um, as we looked at our incentives and how do we compare to other states? Uh,
making sure we we fall in line with where we need to be. Uh, we think this
bill is the answer to that. And Mr Speaker, we will have the clerk report
House Committee substitute one. Clerk please report House Committee substitute
one to House Bill 8 69. Gentleman from Bell move adoption motions for the
adoption of House Committee substitute one. Is there any discussion
seeing none? Those in favor signify by voting aye. Aye. Those opposed nay.
House Committee substitute one is adopted. Gentleman from Bell. Thank you,
Mr Speaker. As I mentioned before, we want to make sure that our incentives
are where they need to be so that we can compete with our neighbors and
create in states across the U. S. Uh, we think this bill does that. Uh, Mr
Speaker, if there's any questions, I'm happy to answer those. If not, I move
for passage of House Bill 8 69 as amended by House Committee substitute
one.
