Cuba is facing blackouts, protests, and a collapsing economy—and the Trump administration is turning up the pressure. After reinstating Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism and cutting key oil supplies, Washington may be pushing the communist regime toward a breaking point. With Havana also deepening ties to Iran and terrorist groups, could Cuba be the next major regime change target?

On with the show.
So a lot has changed since the last time I talked about Cuba, which was only three weeks ago.
But that's 42 years in 2026's time vortex.
And the clock is ticking for them.
Trump has repeatedly warned of the end of Cuba's communist regime,
and claims that Cuba is gonna fall pretty soon.
The Cuban government is talking with us.
They're in a big deal of trouble, as you know.
They have no money.
They have no anything right now.
But they're talking with us.
And maybe we'll have a friendly takeover of Cuba.
We're also looking forward to the great change that will soon be coming to Cuba.
Cuba's at the end of the line.
They're very much at the end of the line.
They have no money.
They have no oil.
They have a bad philosophy.
They have a bad regime that's been bad for a long time.
So the US will do a friendly takeover?
Does it just me, or does that sound like a jovial mugging?
And if people doubted how serious Trump is with regime change,
even after seeing what happened to Maduro, well, there's Iran.
Which has been getting absolutely decimated.
And who needs their oil when they've provided so much fuel for White House memes?
You wanna see me do it again?
Yes, we have come to the point where X has become a platform for presidential aura farming.
Just like George Washington envisioned.
Could Cuba be next?
Will regime change come to Havana?
Will students be forced to remember that Cuba's government lasted 6-7 years?
Oh, I feel so bad for all future teachers.
And like the Iranians celebrating Trump's attack on Iran,
many Cubans are hoping Trump will intervene in Cuba.
And not because they like the number 6-7.
But while there aren't any bombs flying over Cuba, at least as of this recording,
war between the US and Cuba has already begun.
The Trump administration already reinstated Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism,
and cut oil from Venezuela and Mexico.
As a result, Cuba's tourism industry, a key source of income for the Cuban regime,
is collapsing, with Russian and Canadian airlines suspending flights to Cuba.
Especially because with no oil, they can't make those delicious fried plantains.
I just realized that's a different type of oil cut off.
That's even worse.
So pressure from fuel has gotten so bad that Cuba has been hit by widespread blackouts.
Now Cuban blackouts aren't exactly new.
They were happening before the US cut off oil shipments,
thanks in no small part to faulty electric grids.
But this time seems different.
There are reports on social media—between the blackouts, of course—
of protests in Cuba, with people hitting pots in the middle of the night,
shouting,
Down with communism!
That sound is the rhythm of my anti-communist heartbeat.
It's an irregular heartbeat, but a strong one all the same.
And even though Trump says Cuba is negotiating with him and Cuban American Secretary of State
Marco Rubio—who may have to give up his new role as King of Persia for his new
new role of El Presidente of Cuba—Cuba is running out of time.
Because while all that's happening, the Department of Justice
is looking to build criminal cases against Cuban leaders.
Much like how it built criminal cases against Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
No word yet if they'll try to arrest the ghost of Fidel Castro.
Probably going to need a Ghostbuster ghost trap for that.
Probably doesn't help that both Iran and Cuba are real good buddies.
For years, Cuba and Iran have been pursuing closer ties.
They've met multiple times in both Iran and Cuba.
Well, now it looks like their fates may be tied together.
Which is a much closer tie, so mission accomplished.
Which is something I hope Trump doesn't say prematurely.
Former Iranian leader Abraham Rassi said,
it is very important for Iran to develop relations with Latin America,
especially independent countries and countries like Cuba,
who stand against the arrogance of the global arrogant regime.
So he sought collaboration on things like biotechnology,
mining, electricity generation, and other areas.
There have also been multiple Iran-Cuba joint trade and economic cooperation commissions.
And in 2025, an Iranian trade mission opened discussions with Cuba
on a series of potential investment projects aimed at reviving Cuba's stalled industrial capacity,
expanding bilateral trade, and strengthening cooperation in key sectors
ranging from sugar and cement to mining, steel, and pharmaceuticals.
There has also been talk of cooperation in cyber security,
ship building, and presumably intelligence gathering.
Which would be easy given Cuba's proximity to the US,
but difficult given communists not being terribly intelligent.
Cuba, for its part, did jam US satellite feeds to Iran back in 2003.
But its partnerships in particular have helped make it a target.
Like the ties to Iran-linked terrorist organizations.
Remember, Trump reinstated Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism for a reason.
I'm thinking about their relationship with terrorist organizations like the ones linked to Iran.
Retired supervisory counterintelligence officer Christopher Simmons reported back in 2012
that Cuba currently has relations with Hezbollah.
That whole, I-understand-why-you-don't-like-them-but-they've-always-been-cool-with-me
excuse doesn't really work with terrorists.
And it was confirmed by a leaked 2011 intelligence report sent to then Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton claiming that Israel's Mossad spotted a link between Cuba and Iran's proxy Hezbollah.
It claimed that Hezbollah is establishing an operational base in Cuba designed to
support terrorist attacks throughout Latin America.
I get Cuba is desperate for tourists,
but maybe be a little more selective with who you give timeshares to.
This is in addition to reports of Venezuela giving passports to people connected to Hezbollah.
With the help of Cuban companies.
There was also the time when Hezbollah's head of international relations
visited Cuba's embassy in Lebanon to show support.
And yes, Hezbollah has a head of international relations.
I assume those relations are letting people know they want to cut their heads off.
But at least Cuba doesn't have ties with Hamas.
Which is what I'd be saying if Cuba didn't have ties with Hamas.
There was the time Cuba's ambassador in Lebanon met with a Hamas representative there.
What about when the Cuban diplomatic mission to Lebanon held a solidarity meeting
that included the likes of general secretaries of terrorist organizations like
the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine,
the Marxist Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine,
Hamas,
Islamic Jihad,
and others.
As the kids would say, nightmare blunt rotation.
And that meeting happened just months before the October 7th massacre.
And after the October 7th massacre happened,
Cuban leaders reportedly forced their people to march for Hamas.
No word on if the march was goose-stepping.
There's also the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples, or ICAP,
which helps Cuba reach out to terrorist groups.
But it does even more than that.
As the editor-in-chief of ADN Cuba points out,
ICAP is a Cuban intelligence-affiliated organization
that targets malcontent Americans and others
under the auspices of solidarity and profits from their travel expenses to Havana,
where they train to wreak havoc against their own governments.
And 77 US-based solidarity groups that the Cuban government works through
have been organized by an ICAP-associated coalition,
the National Network of Cuba,
which in turn has member organizations like
the Democratic Socialists of America,
Communist Party USA,
and Code Pink,
a group that's tied to the wife of Chinese Communist Party multi-millionaire ally
Neville Royce Singham.
Ironic their model is trickle-down economics, but for terrible ideas.
They're using Reagan's model even though he helped destroy communist Russia.
So just as we've seen pro-Ayatollah protests go around,
we could soon see pro-Cuban regime protests flooding the streets
with the help of ICAP saying something along the lines of
hands off Cuba or Castro was right,
which would probably get worse when his ghost is captured.
But given how Iran and its proxies are getting pummeled,
Cuba risks getting even more isolated.
Cuba's never related more with that book, All My Friends Are Dead.
There's also a good chance that the US will use Cuba's ties to terrorist organizations
as justification to strike Cuba,
potentially with the help of other Latino leaders from the Shield of the Americas summit.
After all, the coalition is designed to destroy both the cartels and terrorist networks.
The heart of our agreement is a commitment to using lethal military force to destroy
the sinister cartels and terrorist networks once and for all.
We'll get rid of them.
We need your help.
You have to just tell us where they are.
We have amazing, we have amazing weaponry,
as you probably noticed over the last short period of time.
Let's just hope that whatever goes down in Cuba will lead to a better future in the Americas.
We'll have to see what happens over the coming weeks and months
in the next 5 minutes in the 2026 time vortex.
What do you think?
Do you think Trump can successfully bring down Cuba?
