Dr. Fitz explains the benefits of acupuncture which includes smoking cessation!
If somebody comes up to me and says,
hey, I want to stop smoking,
I have a bad habit of smoking.
We all know smoking is bad.
So again, after I do an initial exam on that person,
I can say, you know what?
Usually I put them on a protocol.
I use needles at certain points of the body,
but I also use what we call ear seeds.
The ear seed is a piece of herb
that's actually surrounded by tape.
Our ears, believe it or not,
has a lot of acupuncture points.
Because it's so close to the brain,
it kind of makes sense a little bit.
So we can treat smoking sensation.
If you want to stop smoking,
what we do is put the ear seeds
at certain points of the ear.
And the process usually takes about 30 days or less.
If you follow the process
and get ear seeds done every three or four days, actually,
your smoking sensation should go down, down, down.
And by the 21st day or so,
most people actually stop smoking.
Again, you have to follow the whole procedure.
It's not an overnight thing.
And everyone's different, of course.
But if you follow my advice
and get the ear seeds done every three or four days,
most of the time, in fact, almost all the time,
people will stop smoking.
So that's how we treat people who want to stop smoking.
It's a process.
