The House in Kyoto, designed by 07BEACH for a couple and their three children, transforms a compact urban site into an open and connected family home. Centered around a double-height living room, the design promotes visibility and togetherness while solving issues of limited daylight and privacy through an innovative indoor tree that acts as a symbolic family member. Balancing modern structure with traditional Japanese aesthetics, the home features a unique open bathroom facing the living area, reflecting the family’s relaxed lifestyle and the close relationship between the architecture and its residents.
