Hello and welcome to my new video, my name is Tom McPherson and this week I'll
show you one simple way to draw a house in two-point perspective, the first step
in this drawing is to draw a horizontal line that is a little lower than the
middle of your page, next you need to draw two crosses which are far apart
from each other, next draw a short vertical line that is slightly to the
left of the center of your page, now you could draw a diagonal line from the base
of this vertical line to the vanishing point on the left and now draw another
diagonal line from towards the top of this vertical line to the same vanishing
point on the left, next we can draw two more diagonal lines going towards the
vanishing point on the right, so that we get this sort of shape, now the next
thing we need to do is to draw two vertical lines, one on the left and one
on the right and these will be the two sides of the house that we are drawing,
now on the right hand side of the house draw two more diagonal lines that make
a cross, this will be a good way to find the center of this rectangle and then we
need to draw a vertical line that goes up through this cross, this center that
we've just found, next draw two diagonal lines to make a triangle for the roof,
now draw a long diagonal line from the top of this triangle to the vanishing
point on the left, next we need to copy the diagonal line on the left of the
triangle that we've got for the back of the roof of the house that we're making,
so you just need to read across that line and copy it so they both make
parallel lines, for this drawing of a house I'll add an extra line towards the
left and the right vanishing point, this will be useful when I draw maybe some
steps to the doors later on, now draw another cross, this time on the left hand
side of this house and find the vertical center line again, now that we've got
this we know where the door on the left can be, if we want it in the center of
the house and then the top line of this door will go towards the left vanishing
point, next we can add some windows either side of this door, again the top
and the bottom of the windows will go towards the left vanishing point and the
uprights, the vertical lines will be vertical, so next we can just repeat what
we did on the left of this house onto the right hand side, putting a central
door in the center and then a window again on the left and right of the door
and we can work out the height of these windows and doors by reading across the
lines from the left side of the building and then as they get to the
nearest corner of the house, so the front corner of the house, the nearest corner
of the house, everything on the left of that goes to the left vanishing point and
everything to the right of that middle corner of the house goes towards the
right vanishing point, in two-point perspective that's how the diagonal
lines will work, for this drawing later on I think I'll use some shading and put
the house in some sort of landscape or environment and add some clouds, so I'll
speed up the drawing a little bit later on, please subscribe to my YouTube
channel, Circle Line Art School, where I post one video each week, an art tutorial,
there are over a hundred and eighty of my videos now on YouTube and they're all
free to watch, so thank you very much for watching, I hope you enjoy watching the
rest of this drawing and see you next time, bye bye...
