18th Wing Air Ops at Kadena | E-3, KC-135s, F-15s and More!
Continuing with the action at Kadena, the scene now shifts focus to the broader operations of Kadena’s host unit, the 18th Wing, the Air Force’s largest combat wing and a cornerstone of Fifth Air Force. This video captures a dynamic mix of aircraft across multiple mission sets.
An E-3 Sentry from the 961st Airborne Air Control Squadron departs to conduct airborne command-and-control operations, while multiple KC-135 Stratotankers from the 909th Air Refueling Squadron “Young Tigers” depart in support of regional training and contingency missions. A HH-60G Pave Hawk from the 33rd Rescue Squadron adds the combat search-and-rescue component to the day’s activity.
The two F-15Cs from the 67th FS seen departing in the first video are also captured returning from their sortie, tying together the sequence of events and highlighting Kadena’s constant operational rhythm. All while visiting units fill the empty spaces on operations.
