It's a lovely day to knit.
Hello beautiful knitting family. I have missed chatting to you guys. It has been about three or
four weeks and I have genuinely missed chatting to you guys over the last few weeks. I will give
you all of the life updates and things towards the end as to where I've been, what has been
happening in the last three or four weeks. That'll all be at the end but first we've got to chat
about some knitting and today I thought we'd just chat about some of the things that I have finished
over the last few weeks. I have been knitting a lot as always. I'm always knitting. It's just,
it's just what I do day in and day out. I love it. I'm obsessed with it and if you're new here
I'm so sorry. I'm very rude but I'm Alicia. I'm a knitter from Coffs Harbour Australia and yes,
I do a lot of knitting. We chat a lot of knitting here. There's plenty of knitting
podcasts, logs and inspiration. So today I've got two, no, I got four knits to chat about today.
One of them is a cute little baby knit and I've got two test knits that I've finished and then
one beautiful vest that I am just, I'm loving so much. So I don't know what we should start with.
Let's start with the first test knit that I did and this is called the Capuleti sweater by Knits
and Sprits. Let me tuck this on a coat hanger for you so you can actually see it. We might not have
all of the beautiful photos and videos that I normally pop in on the sides here because I'm,
I just haven't quite been well enough to do all that. So we'll see. There might be a miracle and
you might have beautiful pretty pictures on the side here. If not, we're gonna look at it like
this. But this is the Capuleti sweater and I love this so much. I say that about all of my sweaters
and all of my knits but like this is so beautiful. I love the design of it. She's done a wonderful
job. It features this beautiful texture across the yoke and it's got some, what are they called?
Cables. It's got some cross cables and then these little details like along each of the cables and
each of the cuffs as well. They're called cluster stitches and I've never done them before. They're
so easy but they add just like a little bit of texture, a little bit of pizzazz to your knit.
They just add a lot of character and I really enjoy doing them. They're time consuming, don't
get me wrong. Very time consuming but they were really fun to do and I found them really relaxing.
If you can like wrap yarn around stitches, you're good to go. That's all you need to be able to do
those. But other than that, it was just stocking that stitch. There's some short row shaping in
the back so that it fits a bit better. The only thing that I found with the fit of this one is
the neckline doesn't quite fit flush on me. It kind of sticks up a little bit so I'm not sure
maybe if I was to knit this again, I would probably choose the size above what I actually
was measuring at. I think just to give a little bit more room in the shoulders because I think
this design, the cables on the design in the yoke kind of restricted a little bit on the shoulders
so I think that just causes the neckline to pop up a little bit. So I'd probably recommend going
up a size, well in my experience, for the size that I chose. But it's a really nice piece to
wear. It's been summer here so I haven't been able to get much wear out of this because it's
been a bit too hot. Color! The color is gorgeous and this yarn is just... absolutely adore this.
This is beautiful yarn and I will definitely be working within it again. It was actually kindly
sponsored by Lamana for the test knit. I love this. It's beautiful. If you have not tried Lamana
yarn yet, I highly recommend it. So this is made out of their Verona yarn which is a merino, silk
and cashmere blend. It is so soft next to skin. It's nice and squishy. I think this would just go
with a variety of different projects. I don't think you could go wrong with any project that
you picked except for a summer garment because it is quite warm. It's just so pleasant to wear.
Honestly, I think it's one of my favorite yarns that I've worked with yet. That's because it's
just so lovely next to skin. It's just like wearing your coziest, comfiest kind of sweater
that you want to chuck on all the time. Like this is that kind of yarn that you could just chuck on.
It's not irritating at all. I think that silk in it too, it just adds that little bit of,
I don't know, beautiful drape and I don't know what it is. It's just a mixture of all of it.
It's beautiful and I chose the color dark denim. I think it's gorgeous. It's kind of like a really
deep blue. It's not quite navy. They do actually have a deeper blue than this one. So they've got,
I think the shade is called navy, which I was tossing up between, but I don't have one this
color at all in my wardrobe. So it was about time that I added a dark blue sweater to the wardrobe
and I have no regrets. So if you haven't worked with Lamarta yarn yet, highly recommend. I'll be
actually working up a lot. They sent me like a whole big box of like all the samples of all
their yarns and then they sent me like another two garments worth of yarn as well. So I'm very
excited to knit that all up and I'm going to be doing a whole yarn review video on that. So stay
tuned for that and I will be working with a bunch of their different bases. Very, very, very excited
for that. The pattern itself was really easy to understand. It was just the test knit version and
like I thought that it was so well written and just a breeze to work through. Her pattern writing
style is beautiful and I always appreciate a good pattern. Like if it's a written well, I just, I
just have so much more appreciation for it. So this is definitely one to keep an eye out for. I don't
think it will be long till it's out. Our test knits are due at the end of this month, so I think it
follows the release pretty soon after that. So I will let you know when this one is released,
probably on my Instagram story. It's definitely worth a knit. It is very, very fun to knit up.
Lovely to wear. Beautiful yarn to work with. It just, there's so many ticks in my boxes with this
one. Just so many. So knits and sprits, the Capuleti with Lamani yarn. Perfection. Another
test knit that I did. I said to myself I wasn't going to do any test knits this year. I just,
I didn't know what my whole year was going to be looking like, but apparently I signed up for two
test knits. Actually, I signed up for a few more, but then couldn't do some of them. Anyways, I've
done two test knits and I have no regrets because the Capuleti is beautiful. And this one here is
called the Sophio Blouse by the beautiful Marie M. Wedge from Inherskane. This is so beautiful.
I have actually got a lot of wear out of this because I knit it out of one strand of alpaca
lace weight. So for the chillier evenings or the chillier, like, overcast rainy days,
this has been absolutely perfect because it's not too warm. It's still light and breezy. Just
perfect transitional kind of piece. I love this. I love, I think it's my new favourite. I think it
is. I'm going to say it's my new favourite because it's one that I've been reaching for a lot
whenever it's cold, like a little bit chilly and like, oh yay, I get to wear this. One, it is
because the design is beautiful and it fits so perfectly. Like it is just a perfect fit. It's,
it's, what is it? A contiguous? No. Yeah, it's a contiguous set in sleeves. You kind of still
work it like a raglan, but you've got this little section here that kind of differentiates it from
a raglan, which I'll probably show you a close up of because I cannot describe what that section is.
I think another thing that has made me want to reach for this so much is the yarn that I used.
It is some of the softest yarn that I have used. It's like, it's not quite there with cashmere.
It's a different feel from cashmere, but it's an alpaca yarn and it's the lace weight. It's
from Australia, Alpaca Bard. My mum picked this up for me when she was in the Hunter Valley region
and they have a cute little store there with all of their alpaca yarns and it's all kind of local.
It's just, I was just really happy to use it and oh my goodness, it is so ridiculously soft and fluffy
and so pleasant to wear and I'm a little bit less precious with it because it is so much cheaper
than cashmere, but it's so ridiculously soft. So if you want to knit something with cashmere,
but obviously it's very expensive, but you want something like super duper soft and light,
then I recommend this one. And if you're in Australia, the Australian Alpaca Bard,
100% recommend. Their website is a little bit tricky to navigate. It's just a little bit
outdated, I think. You will get there in the end. I'll link it down below for you for sure.
This is just in, I think it's their undyed or their cream colour. I'll link it down below for
you. It's just a beautiful kind of cream colour. It just goes with everything. So it's nice and easy
to wear. It's a beautiful basic. One thing that I love about the design of this as well is it's quite
customisable with all of the edging. So you can choose from either a icord edging or a scalloped
edging for any of the edges. So you've got the cuffs, the neckline and the hem and you can
customise it. So she's got instructions if you want to use the scalloped edges on the neckline,
which looks so, so cute. And I was going to do the scalloped edges on the neckline,
but I thought with this yarn in particular, it probably wouldn't look like that amazing as a
neckline. I think with more of a sturdy kind of yarn, like a merino, I think that edging looks
really good as a neckline. I'll show you. She's got some sample photos that she's made up and
I'll pop them on the screen here for you so you can see the vision and see what I'm seeing in my
head. But because the alpaca or the laceway kind of is a little bit more flowy, not quite as
structured, you don't quite see the scallops as much as with a more structured kind of yarn like
a merino or something. So I have just opted to do the scallops on the cuffs, which I still
have yet to weave in. I've still got the last live stitch on a stitch marker. Don't ask me why, I just,
I haven't weaved it in yet, but I've been wearing it a bunch and every time I wear it, I'm like, oh,
I should really weave that in. It hasn't happened yet. But yes, I've just got these scallops on
the cuffs and I think that just adds the cutest little touch to this design. Just beautiful.
And I opted to do the eye cords for the neckline and the hem, but I think I will definitely be
making this again during winter in like a more heavier yarn. It is a 21 stitch gauge, so if you do
use a lace weight, you're going to get a beautiful, light, airy piece. I think perfect for transitional
weather. We're going into autumn, so I think this is absolutely beautiful. It would be a beautiful
spring addition as well to your wardrobe, like absolutely perfect spring vibes. But if you're
still in the beautiful winter mode and you're still wanting to knit all these beautiful heavier
jumpers, then a DK weight yarn would be absolutely perfect and I think would just be nice and warm
and toasty. Or a fingering weight and a mohair I think would be really beautiful with this as well.
It was so pleasant to knit. It's a nice mindless knit. The pattern is super well written. I didn't
find one mistake in it, I don't think, the whole time and it's just the test knit version. So she's
a tech editor herself as well, so you kind of like know that you're going to get a really good pattern
when she writes one. This has definitely become my new favorite basic in the wardrobe. It's just
the perfect color, the perfect yarn, the perfect construction. Just, I love it. I love it so much
and you should definitely knit one when it comes out. I will definitely let you know when it's
coming out. I think it might be next month. Don't hold me to that. I'm not quite sure. I will let
you know when it comes out, so you can also knit yourself a Sophio blouse and we can be twins.
Oh, it's just so beautiful. I love it so much. This is the Coffee Cream Vest by the beautiful
Maria from Stitches by Marie. This has been on my to knit list for so long and I've just been
looking for the right yarn, I think, to use for this and I think I finally found the perfect
yarn for it in the perfect shade. I wanted to do more of a brown kind of like neutrally
color because, I don't know about you, but I don't really know how to style vests very well
and I don't really have anything in my wardrobe to style with it as of yet. I've got one white
shirt that I think might go with it, so I haven't got much wear out of it as of yet because I need
a piece to wear under it that's just like the perfect piece to wear under, if you know what I
mean, because it can be quite hard to style this. You can wear it by itself, which I really like
about this as well because it's got those wider straps, which I really enjoy. The yarn that I
chose, I probably wouldn't wear it next to skin. It is a little bit scratchy on my skin. It's
beautiful yarn and I loved working with it. I would definitely use it again, but it's just a
little bit scratchy on my skin. So the yarn that I used was the, I can never remember how to say it,
the Retro Zarya Rosa Firmar Mondime in the color C582. I love the color. The color is the perfect
shade of kind of like a rusty brown. It's so beautiful. It goes with my wardrobe and that's
all I need is pieces that go with all of my other pieces in my wardrobe. I'm trying to get more of a
cohesive kind of wardrobe, so anything that I pick out of my wardrobe kind of goes together and just
have those statement pieces, like the colorwork pieces with a splash of color. That's kind of like
their own thing. But I want a lot of cohesive kind of wardrobe pieces and this is definitely
going to be a cohesive wardrobe piece in the color that I chose. It is made out of 100% fine
Portuguese wool. It is, I think, more on the rustic side of things. It's definitely,
it's definitely not a super rustic or super coarse or anything like that. It is quite soft once it's
washed, but for me, it's still a little bit prickly straight against skin, but if you wear
something underneath it, it's totally fine. And I've only washed it once, so I feel that yarn
really softens up over time and I think this might be one of those ones that might soften up after a
few washes rather than just one wash. But it's, yeah, it's a beautiful yarn. I did love working
with it and I love that it gives the cables so much structure. For a lot of people, I know that
I've heard that's worked with it. It's not itchy at all, so just different skin types react
differently with different yarns, I believe, and I'm beginning to realize that more and more. The
actual design itself was so much fun to knit. It is a really well-written pattern. It's a really
pretty pattern, actually, aesthetically too. She's just done a really good job at like the layout of
the pattern. It was really easy to work and yeah, the cables, they look intimidating, but they're
not intimidating at all. It's really quite a mindless project, actually. I found once we got
into the body in the round, it was super mindless. I love stitch markers, so I just put stitch
markers every time that I did a crossover and then I could count for my next crossover and yeah, it
was just absolutely pleasant. There's some ribbing in between each of the cables and then the sides
are stocking that stitch. All the details are really beautiful. The back also has the same cable
and rib design and I love the v-neck on the front. The v-neck was my favorite part and that is just,
it's so beautiful. I love it. My gauge was off for this one, my row gauge in particular, so I did
actually extend the body or the top half, this top half, by just a little bit so that the armholes
weren't too far up because I was a little bit worried about that, so I just extended that a
little bit and the only other modification that I did was the sides here. Actually, no, I did a few,
I did a few modifications and purely probably because I was just lazy. You're supposed to do a
double folded neckline but I just knit to the length that I wanted and then used a Italian
bind off to bind off the neckline and then the same with the sleeves as well and I didn't knit
the rib edging on this part, sleeve part, shoulder part, armhole, that's the one. I didn't knit that as
wide as she has knitted it so I just knit it to like, I don't know, probably two centimeters, like
that big. You can see it. Yeah, it's not that big. I don't know why I did that, I just liked it a little
bit better with the smaller ribbing. The only thing I think I did was knit this a little bit too long
because I wasn't sure what I was going to wear it with but in my head I was thinking
long sleeve shirt, like a collared shirt with it kind of hanging below the vest so it kind of broke
up from my jeans to like the actual vest, like separate it with color a little bit but I think
I knit it a little bit too long so I haven't quite been able to like style it exactly how I had it
pictured in my head so I've got to find the right outfit for this and I think I've got a few, a few
things floating around in my head but I just need the right shirt to go underneath it so I'm on the
hunt for a good shirt to wear underneath this so that I could wear it all winter long and I think
it'll be a really, really cute outfit. I'm very excited for it. I think a t-shirt under this would
be pretty cute as well so I'm very excited to wear this when I get that long sleeve shirt and I find
the perfect outfit. So I highly recommend this one, this is the coffee cream vest. Such an enjoyable
pattern, love knitting it, love the style of it, love the pattern writing, everything about it,
absolutely beautiful and thank you so much again to Maria for actually gifting me this pattern,
that was so sweet of you. And the last finished knit we have to chat about is this adorable little
storm sweater that I've knit for my sister-in-law and my brother. They're due to have their fourth
child and I haven't knit any of their other children something because it was before I was
into knitting so it's about time they get a hand knit from me and this is by Petite Knit in case
you haven't seen this before. She does adult versions too. This is the baby version, the three
to six month old version and it's so cute, it's so, so cute. I must say, I do not enjoy doing baby
knits. This is like the fourth baby knit or the fifth baby knit that I've done and or some of them
I didn't even finish because I just, I don't know what it is, I just, I don't enjoy it. I really,
I just don't enjoy it that much. I don't know why. They should be quick gratifying knits
but the ones that I've done, they're just annoying and I just don't enjoy it. But I really, really
wanted to gift like baby knits and I want to gift baby knits more so I'm just gonna force myself to
do it until I enjoy it and this one has really put me off ever knitting the adult version to
be honest. I don't know why but I did not enjoy working this pattern. I didn't enjoy doing the
texture. I don't know why. It's only knits and purls. It's really simple and I think if you are
more of a beginner knitter and you want to like branch out and do some textures but you're too
intimidated to do cables or color work or anything like that, then the Storm Sweater is such a good
pattern to start with because it is just knits and purls and you're starting to read a chart but
it's very simple and easy to kind of follow along with but I just didn't enjoy it for some unknown
reason. I felt like it was a big slog. I don't know why but it turned out really cute so that's all
that matters in the end and I hope that fits for starters. It looks really big for a three to six
month old but in saying that I haven't held a baby in a very long time so I'm really out of
how big or small babies are. I don't know but I thought it would probably be better to do too big
than too small. She's having a beautiful little baby boy and I used some Bendigo Wool and Mills
Classic 4 ply, no 5 ply in the color, I can't remember, it's in the color caramel and it's
this beautiful kind of golden brown color. If you haven't heard, if you're a big Bendigo Wool
Mills fan like I am because their wool is just so affordable then I received an email this week
that they are no longer doing the 3 ply and the 5 ply in the classic so if you need 3 ply or 5
ply in the classic then jump on and grab that before they're all sold out because they're no
longer stocking them, they're going to a 4 ply instead which honestly for me is so much better
because all patterns are like 4 ply these days or fingering weight. If you are needing extra balls
or something or you're needing something for a 5 ply pattern, definitely get on and grab those.
They've also got a really cool new base, I think it's called Nature? Nurture? Something like that?
Yeah, Nurture 8 ply and it's merino and cotton and it's got this cool little marbling effect.
I was very tempted when I first got that email that they just released it,
very tempted to buy some because they got some beautiful shades, absolutely gorgeous shades,
like perfect for autumn weather, perfect for warmer type weather, I think that is just gonna be
gorgeous but I think it's a limited one as well. I do have to try some of that I think but I've got
to be yarn stashed to work through so we'll get through that first. Anyway, so we're talking about
the storm sweater. The pattern is really well written, the only thing that really confused me
was when you went to work the round in the sleeves, you have to do decreases and the chart
that she supplies doesn't include like modifying for the decreases so I think for a new beginner
knitter that would be very confusing because it would kind of like mess with my head a little bit
because you're decreasing so you're losing a stitch so that should put the chart out a little
bit. That means you're working with less stitches so the chart doesn't quite work and doesn't line
up if you're decreasing stitches. The pattern doesn't really explain that when you decrease
you've got to then shift over like one stitch to make sure that the patterns line up and I think
that's very confusing especially if you haven't been knitting for a while and you haven't learned
to read your knitting like from the rows below. I think that could be very confusing unless I
missed something which could totally happen but I found that a little bit confusing and yeah not
quite beginner friendly so that's the only thing if you're going into the sleeves. I don't know if
it's the same on the adult version, might be a bit different but in the baby version she just said
decrease on such and such a rows and work the chart but the chart had no decreases in it.
Confusing. Anyways I got there in the end and we do have a jumper that I can give to her so I'm
very excited for that but baby knits, I've got to work on loving baby knits because I just don't.
It's going to be a bit of a shorter episode today I think because we're just going through those
finished knits. I'm not going to go through whips today, we might do that another day.
My energy levels just crash very rapidly so I thought I really miss chatting to you guys so I
wanted to get a video out for you but they might be a bit shorter these days but we still get to
chat nonetheless so I thought that was a good compromise but I did want to chat about some
new YouTube channels that I have recently discovered because I love sharing love here
on Lovely Day Knits. So much love and I love chatting about other beautiful knitty people
that are sharing their work, sharing their love for knitting and I know that you guys probably
love to watch knitting podcasts and knitting things as much as I do so here we go. Let's
have a chat about two new channels that I've been watching lately and the first one I've been
watching a lot of is Becca from Fiber and Floral. She just has such a beautiful, warm,
friendly personality and I just, I don't know, I find so much comfort in watching her. She just,
the way she explains her knits and everything is just so lovely to watch and I just love sitting
down knitting and just chilling with her from a distance. She probably doesn't even know I exist
but if you do watch my channel at all, Becca, hi! I love your channel. It's beautiful. I always,
always immaculate. I love it so much and she has like such a beautiful aesthetic as well. I love
all the colors she chooses for her knits. I love, actually one of the things that really got me to
watch her was she knit the Hay Sailor by Andrea Mowry which is what I'm currently working at
at the moment and that's what got me to actually knit the Hay Sailor because she made a beautiful
green version of it and I fell in love with it. I'm knitting a pink version at the moment but I
think I need a green version because hers are so beautiful. Everything she talks about and all of
her knits are just gorgeous so she's well worth a watch if you haven't already discovered her.
Then yeah, Becca from Fiber and Floral, 100% recommend. Beautiful, beautiful person. And the
other YouTube channel that I've just discovered and I've been watching like all of their podcasts
is Gwen and Jacinda from Foggy Knits and this is a duo knitting podcast and I, I love watching
these girls. They are so much fun. They bounce off each other really well. They just have great
combos. They have beautiful knits. I absolutely love their style. Everything that they knit is
just gorgeous. They go into depth about their knits and you'll just have a really fun time
watching them. I find their knitting podcasts so relaxing but really enjoyable to watch. So yeah,
if you're after a beautiful duet knitting podcast that is full of entertainment and also just
gorgeous beautiful knits then definitely check out these girls from Foggy Knits. I have been loving
watching their channel. Okay, let's chat about some not knitting stuff, like some life stuff
where I've been for the last few weeks. If you caught my last episode, I was going down four
hours away to a hospital to be there for a long stay apparently but nothing goes to plan, does it?
Nothing really happens the way you think you're going, it's going to happen. We got told by a
specialist that we needed to go down to this hospital. I was going to be there for a long time
in tertiary care. They're a really good hospital and I was going to get a lot of care there and
everything was going to happen quicker, more tests and stuff. We got down there and to be honest, it
was pretty poor care. The specialist there didn't really want anything to do with my case. We were
there for a grand total of two nights and nothing happened. Well, the staff themselves was really
beautiful and I mean, I think they helped as much as they could but the specialist didn't know what
to do. Pretty much was like, I can't do any more testing here. You've done all of the testing that
I could think of. I can't think of anything else to help you. There's nothing really we can do here
for you. So they discharged me. I got back up to home. My GP wanted me to go straight back into
hospital because she said I was still not stable enough to be outside of hospital and I just said
no. I'm not going back into hospital because I have not had the best hospital experiences in the
last year. They have not been very helpful and I think it's just because there's nothing else that
they can do and I think I need a little bit more of a specialist that actually knows more about what
I'm going through or maybe has experienced or had patients with similar cases to mine. So I'm very
grateful because I've actually found a beautiful specialist who is apparently very well versed in
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which is what I was diagnosed with last year. They're still not sure if that's
quite what's going on with everything. If you're new here, sorry, so rude of me. I've been like for
the last year plus I've been not be able to tolerate any food or water. I've been tube fed and the tube
feeding isn't really working because I can't keep even half of what I need down on a regular basis.
So pretty much constantly dehydrated and very malnourished and I've lost over 30 kilos now in
the last year which is wild. There's nothing left. But I have found a specialist who deals with
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and deals with more than just what a gastroenterologist deals with which
is they kind of just look at the gut system but she will look at more systems than just the
GI tract. So I'm really, really hoping that she is the answer or has an answer for me. She also deals
with a few other things like Mast Cell Activation Syndrome which my dietician also really wants me
to get looked into because she said a lot of my symptoms are linked with that and then if you have
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome then you might have the MCAS as well so there's still some things to look
into. I've got to travel up north to see this new specialist and new dietician and things but it's
well worth the travel. She's very expensive but I think she'll be worth it. I really hope so. As of
the last few weeks I just I have not had the energy or brain capacity. My brain has not been working
the last few weeks to be able to film unfortunately but I have been at home doing lots of knitting and
lots and lots of resting. I feel like I am actually getting a bit of better care out of
a hospital. I found a IV wellness clinic and that has been the only thing that has actually helped
me even a little bit with my brain functioning and a little bit more energy than I normally do
because normally I have zero energy whatsoever to be able to do daily tasks or anything like that.
It's on the couch and knitting which isn't bad because I love me some knitting but also I would
like to live a little bit as well and to be able to form sentences properly and have a smile on my
face all the time feel a little bit more normal. So I found an IV wellness clinic and if you're in
the Coffs Harbour area they're called Revive. It's not only for like people that are sick but it's
also for people that are healthy as well but just might be lacking in energy or lacking in vitamins.
You can get these infusions of vitamins and minerals and hydration as well and they have just
helped so much. I really noticed a difference like the next day after having them I just feel like my
brain is a little bit better, a little bit more functioning which is really nice. I can think a
bit clearer, I can have conversations, I just feel a little bit more myself. So that has been absolutely
amazing to go to and I'm very grateful. So if you too are going through illness or anything like
that or even just like feel super tired or anything I'm not a doctor so this isn't advice
medically but I'm just telling you my experience is try and find an IV wellness clinic just go
have a chat to them and see if that might be something beneficial. You can chat to your GP as
well see if it's something beneficial for you. My body is still very weak I can't really get up the
stairs without my husband lifting me up so that's fun and yeah most of the time spent on the couch
but I'm very hopeful that this new specialist can help and find out exactly what's going on and
maybe get a bit of a solution so that I can at least get my feeds up and be able to put on a
bit more weight because currently I have reached under 40 kilos which is insane. I haven't been
that weight since I was a small child and my beautiful husband has been taking more time off
work to be able to care for me as well so he's kind of becoming more of my carer than anything
because lifting things and moving around is quite difficult at the moment. I have had so many
incredibly beautiful messages on Instagram and on YouTube and I am so sorry that I haven't gotten
back to some people and I have taken a long time to get back to people. I pretty much just went
off social media and just really been in the knitting zone and the healing zone and just the
relaxing zone so I will be getting back to all of you but I do apologize it's taking me a little bit
but I am just so appreciative of everyone's beautiful messages and support and I'm just
overwhelmed. You guys don't have to be so nice and you just are and it just makes my week
every week. I really miss chatting to you guys and I'm hoping to be able to get back into the rhythm
of videos. I really hope that I can get out weekly videos but we'll have to see what my body's doing.
I don't know. One day we'll be back to normal and I've got so many video ideas it's ridiculous.
I'm very excited for all the videos that I've got in my head. I haven't even filmed them yet but I'm
very excited. I have had a lot, a lot of people reach out and ask how they can help support me or
if they're able to help support me if I have somewhere that they could go to like donate or
something to and my personality is I don't like ever asking for help. I once worked a whole month
without being paid because I was too scared to ask where the pay was because I didn't like asking for
money. That's my personality but my beautiful husband and my beautiful family kind of convinced
me that we might need a little bit of help especially because I can't work and hubby's had
to take so much time off work to kind of care for me and medical expenses are getting very expensive
so my beautiful husband has set up a GoFundMe page just to help out with all the medical expenses
and things so if that's something you would like to do or if it asks to do then I'll pop the link
in the description box below but please don't feel obliged at all just by watching these videos.
That is help beyond what you could know. I've also set up a buy me a coffee link as well so that'll
be linked in the description box below and that just helps to support and grow this channel as
well so that's an option there too if you would like to support this channel but again please
don't feel obliged to do that at all just by watching these videos. It means the world to me
and supports me more than you could know. So I have a specialist appointment next week and I will give
you an update after I have that appointment and I'm hoping that we have some answers. I really am
because I am very sick of sitting on the couch and not having any energy for anything. There's
so many things that I want to do. I really genuinely miss life. I miss living. I miss...
I didn't think I would get emotional but I do miss living. I miss life. I miss cooking.
I miss gardening. Oh my goodness. I miss just being able to walk, being able to get around,
being able to drive, just doing anything physical. I've really really missed. I've
missed going on dates with my husband and hanging out with the family, doing anything social.
It has been a pretty tough year and I always like to put a smile on my face and I am
quite a positive person and my mental health is still really quite good and I'm still very
optimistic but I do miss life. I do miss living. From being such an active person to being like
this is quite hard so yes it's been a tough year but there's always something we could do and
today that's put a smile on my face and that is helping a lot so I didn't think we'd be taking
that turn today but we did apparently. Thank you so much for watching, for hanging out with me,
for knitting and crafting along with me while I chat to you about all of my knits and things and
I hope this brought you a bit of joy in your day. Let me know what you're working on, what you're
knitting on, what you're crafting on, what you've been working on while you've been watching this
video. I would absolutely love to know in the comments below so do let me know that and I hope
you have a lovely rest of your day!
