What knitting projects to cast on this autumn?
There are so many nice knitting patterns out there
and it's kind of difficult to choose
and you know I'm gonna make your life even more difficult
because I'm gonna introduce you to even more nice knitting patterns
so you are warned but hopefully
you will get some of these moments during
this video as well where you see a pattern
And you feel a loud yes in your body.
Yes, this is the pattern that speaks to me.
I want to knit it.
I must knit it.
And then it can make your decision making easier as well, hopefully.
We will see.
I've categorized these 33 patterns we are going through
into six different categories
that are very crucial for autumn knitting.
First we are talking about blouses,
then we have texture and minimal cable category,
the third category is cardigans,
next we have vests, the fifth category is jackets,
and the sixth category and my favorite is the artsy category.
It's about knitting the things that your soul calls for.
So these are the six categories.
My autumn knitting is gonna look a bit different this time
because I'm in Bali at the moment
and I'm gonna have my autumn
and winter here in the tropical climate but still I plan to knit
many wool sweaters as well.
I have some wool brought with me and I plan to buy some new
but also I plan to knit some more summery garments as well.
So in a way I'm very jealous to do this type of pattern roundup
because autumn and winter season
is the best knitting season and it's even better if you can
also wear these knits. I can knit these
autumn winter pieces here as well
but they are not very practical at the moment.
First we have blouses.
The first pattern in this category is heaven blouse by moragknit.
It's a beautiful,
beautiful sweater which has this sheer part on top.
It's bra friendly as well.
You need to wear bras without stripes
if you don't want to do anything peeking through
But it's just...
Heavenly blouse like the name says.
It uses sport plus lace weight yarn which makes up worsted.
So it's not your super thin blouse either.
You could wear it also during the winter season
and it has only 26 projects on Ravelry. Moragknit is pretty
Popular designer, so I'm not sure what's going on here.
It's a bit older pattern,
maybe the designer wasn't that popular back then.
The pattern came out July 2023.
But yeah, definitely worth checking out today.
I saw this pattern the first time
and I again have another pattern in the list I want to knit.
It's kind of frustrating at times
when there are so many beautiful patterns.
It is what it is.
The next pattern is Bombosa mohair blouse by Made by Roche.
Again, I'm gonna butcher the names,
I'm sorry. And it's a beautiful mohair blouse.
I've seen these patterns a lot. There are many
versions of it. They all look pretty similar.
Most of them are with boat neck and this.
Bell sleeves.
But what I like about this is that it's made to measure. Some of the
sheer mohair blouses are knitted up with very large needles
and it makes it very sheer.
Here with this pattern it's possible
to kind of choose your own level of
sheerness. If you use a bit tinier needle then it's more filled.
With bigger needles, it's more see-through.
It's very beautiful. On the sample images,
we can see images where the model is wearing just a bralette.
I would probably wear it with a shirt
underneath, sleeveless. But yeah, beautiful.
It came out June 2026, so it's a newer pattern,
and there are 18 projects on Ravelry.
And yeah, you need it with one strand of mohair.
Or actually you could knit it with anything you want,
but to achieve this sheer look this is done
with one strand of mohair. Let's move forward.
And a bit warning here, it seems like most of
the blouses here are knit with mohair,
but maybe it's the season of mohair, who knows.
And the next pattern is Saeli Sweater by Seine Knits.
It's a very unique and beautiful design. It
also has these sheer mohair sections, also some lace
and yeah it has a nice construction as well.
Well,
Maybe it's set in sleeve I would imagine but I'm not so sure.
This pattern calls for
Like fingering and mohair lace.
I'm not saying the needle sizes anymore in my videos because
I've seen that there are many people
from United States watching these videos and the needle sizes
between US and Europe vary.
But we can talk about yarn weight which is the common thread
The thread and the yarn weight kind
of gives an idea how thick is the fabric.
If you want to have more details about these patterns,
then you can go to Ravelry, check out
the links in the description box
and you can find out more about these patterns.
The next pattern in the blouse category
is Theresia Sweater by Georgia Fibers.
It has been pretty popular the recent months,
even though the pattern itself is a bit
Older, it came out October 2024.
And the recommended yarn for this is Cardiff cashmere classic,
which is DK or sport weight yarn.
I think it's sport weight yarn, but however it says DK.
Cashmere can be pretty expensive yarn to use,
so you can easily substitute to anything else.
But what I like about this blouse
is this cute detailing in front where you have this
A little cute hole and a pearl button
and a nice way to mix up the necklines of knitted sweaters.
I have crewnecks for example the most in my hand knitted wardrobe
and now I'm starting to think
like huh maybe I would like to knit sweaters
or blouses with different necklines and this
Would give you an option if you have the same issue in your wardrobe.
And this sweater uses European shoulder construction
which is very well fitting construction style
in my opinion and I think that it fits a lot of body types.
And it's knitted top down in the round like all the previous ones.
The next pattern is Eleanor blouse by JoJo knitwear.
It's again beautiful mohair blouse.
The recommended yarn is Isager yarn silk mohair
and Isager yarn, Isager soft fine.
This Isager soft fine is mohair and alpaca blend.
So both threads are very fluffy
and you knit it on very wide gauge, it's 13 stitches.
So it's gonna be pretty fascinating.
This blouse calls for short sleeves
but you could easily modify it and knit them full length
if you prefer. Yeah, very beautiful pattern and it's a newer pattern.
It came out August 2026
and it has 23 projects on Ravelry.
The last blouse we have is the October Day blouse by Marsha Cibliakova
I was so close to knitting this blouse, but...
Then some other plans came into picture but it's so beautiful.
I like this lace but it's
not small and dainty but it's like bigger
and bolder a little bit. Very stylish. It also has
a round yoke construction and it's knitted
with two strands of mohair and the gauge is 17 stitches.
So pretty wide gauge which means that it would be relatively quick knit
and it has only eight
projects on Ravelry as of now.
The next category is texture and minimal cables
and the first pattern we have
in this category is Koya Ma by Johan Ang.
This is a beautiful saddle shoulder sweater
which is knitted top down seamlessly.
It's knitted with worsted weight yarn,
DK plus lace and the gauge is 15 stitches.
I really like this stylish cable along the sleeve,
interesting yet minimal, it would
be very versatile sweater in anyone's wardrobe
and I like it that it doesn't use a very typical
So, type of cable, but.
Very unique version of a cable.
It's a bit older pattern, it came out September 2021
and it has 293 projects on Ravelry.
The next pattern is kind of similar to the previous one.
It's the Biscuit Sweater by Subinix
and this one also has a cable along the sleeve.
But there are many differences as well.
Well first the cable motif is different.
And it also has some bubbles
and this sweater is knitted without mohair.
This is actually a raglan sweater, not a mohair.
A saddle shoulder like the previous one
and it's knitted on tighter gauge with sport weight yarn.
It's very feminine, modern, elegant sweater.
It's a bit newer pattern, it came out April 2025
and it has only 28 projects on Ravelry.
And next sweater is a textured sweater and it's the
It's a new pattern,
it came out this month, October 2026.
And it's a modern take on a textured sweater.
It's knitted with fingering plus lace yarn
and the gauge is 22 stitches.
You can see that the designer have put
a lot of effort into every single detail.
It looks very balanced, the shape is elegantly boxy,
the seam lines are featuring cables,
There are different texture sections.
And it's just very beautiful and professional-looking.
I would definitely love to have it in my wardrobe.
As it's a new pattern, it doesn't have any projects on Ravelry yet.
But I'm sure it's gonna change very soon.
Definitely worth checking out.
The next pattern is a very popular pattern.
And the first time I saw it, my jaw just dropped.
I was amazed.
It was... I found it so, so beautiful.
And I was so close.
buying yarn for this sweater
but then I kind of realized that I will go to Bali soon and
it maybe wouldn't be so practical.
I don't have so much space in my luggage so I had to postpone it
a bit but I'm pretty sure it will be on my needles sometime soon
and it's the Edith Sweater by Lenny.
Lenit has so many popular patterns recently,
I like what she's putting out and it's a beautiful
cabled textured sweater.
The main motif of this sweater is the front panel here.
It features very unique cabling.
I haven't seen this type of motif before, I really enjoy it.
I like to see new ways of knitting garments.
Different motifs,
patterns and this sweater definitely provides it.
It's an Aran weight sweater.
It's knitted with three threads of yarn or their alternative yarn
suggestion for two threads as well.
Three sounds a bit too much. And it is a drop shoulder sweater.
As I said, it's a newer pattern,
it came out September 2026 and it already has 167 projects
on Ravelry.
The next pattern is two-way pullover my size by Min Young Ang
and it's a very minimal looking
sweater, yet very stylish.
It has this cable along the sleeve.
And I really appreciate that the cable is placed a bit more in front,
not exactly in the middle of the sleeve.
That's why you can see the cable a little bit more
and also gives the sweater a more modern look.
This sweater is knitted with fingering plus fingering yarn
which makes it worsted.
The gauge is 19 stitches.
And it's a shadow shoulder construction fitted in the round top down.
This pattern came out August 2025 and it has 21 projects on Ravelry.
The next sweater is a bit similar, it's the Ease in Tea by Yamatara
and it features this beautiful braid along the raglan line.
This sweater is knitted with super bulky yarn
but it actually doesn't have such wide gauge,
it's only 16 stitches and knitted on 5.5 millimeter needles US 9.
I think it's because
the yarn that is recommended is pretty fluffy
and then you just knit it tightly.
It's knitted top down seamlessly, it has raglan construction and
The sample images are showing this design with short sleeves
which would be perfect for autumn
season but it would be also very easy to modify
and have it with long sleeves. Many options there.
It's a newer pattern,
it came out September 2026 and it has 30 projects on Ravelry.
The last pattern in this category is a popular one
and it's the Fairy Phuket by Johan Ang.
It's a bit older pattern,
it came out December 2021 but it's still very beautiful.
It has a textured section on top and then also along the sleeve.
It's very feminine, elegant,
beautiful sweater and again what I like about this
pattern is that it features very unique motifs
that you don't see every day.
For example, the motif along the sleeve.
It's very interesting and different that not many
sweaters are having. This sweater is knitted top down seamlessly.
It calls for fingering
I am using black lace yarn which makes it DK
and the gauge is 18.5 stitches.
This pattern has 566 projects on Ravelry.
Now we are moving into the category of cardigans,
and the first one in the list is Zosia cardigan by Cheryl Mokhtari.
It's a newer pattern,
it came out March 2026 and it's been pretty popular.
I've seen it in many places online
and I'm not surprised why it's so popular,
because it's very beautiful.
The design is very unique. It gives off a little bit of vintage feel,
which I really appreciate and like.
And I think the color scheme that is picked
on the sample images are just on point.
It uses three different colors
and together they look very cohesive and balanced.
The recommended yarn for this cardigan is Isagur yarn soft,
which is a blown yarn.
Even though it's knitted with worsted weight yarn,
this cardigan would be very lightweight.
The gauge is 17 stitches. This cardigan has 145 projects on Ravelry.
The next cardigan is Far and Old by Tricot Design.
It's an older pattern, it came out September 2023,
and it has this beautiful feminine bohemian
looking look.
It has these two rows of edges or lace, I don't know how you call it.
The first association
when I see this cardigan is the French brand Cezanne, they are making
very beautiful clothes, so it's a compliment for this design.
This pattern is knitted with fingering plus lace yarn
which makes it DK and the gauge is 20 stitches.
This cardigan has contiguous set-in sleeve construction.
You knit it top down and
back and forth as it is a cardigan.
I really appreciate that it's a form fitted cardigan.
There are a lot of oversized cardigans out there that I
also very much like. They're
It seems to be super trendy at the moment,
but it's nice to have some change and some
garments with a bit less possibilities and a bit more closely fitted.
It's a pretty popular pattern, it has 158 projects on Ravelry.
The next pattern is timeless cardigan and pullover by Sue Knits.
You get two versions of the pattern.
You can knit it up as a cardigan or as a sweater.
And like the previous one, this is also more
closely, more form fitted version of a cardigan.
It has set in sleeve construction. This pattern is knitted up with
Start with DK weight yarns, DK plus lace and the gauge is 20 stitches.
This pattern came out a few years ago,
February 2024, and it has 24 projects on Ravelry.
The next one is Janet Cardigan by Mora Connect.
It's a bit chunkier cardigan,
you knit it up with worsted flat lace yarn which makes it
iron and the gauge is 19 stitches.
So it's a combination to get a pretty thick fabric.
I think it's a very good basic chunky cardigan.
It has good fit, it features double knitted button band
to have very neat finishing.
Looks very professional
and a lot of people seem to agree with me because it's pretty
popular.
It has 296 projects on Ravelry.
Let's talk about vests now.
Vests are perfect as a layering piece.
It would give you more styling options in your wardrobe
and perfect autumn piece to
have.
The first vest we have is Oda Vest by Scala Studio.
It's very beautiful balanced vest.
It features two cables on the sides and then criss-crossed
So, I'm going to go across the...
tiny cables. I don't know how to explain it,
but I like that it has a lot of texture, yet it doesn't
like to take too much attention to the vest as well.
So it has more balanced look.
Overall I really like the designs Scala Studio makes.
It's a brand that also sells
knitwear and then they have some knitting patterns as well.
These patterns are more on a pricier side
but design wise on point.
The next pattern is a super popular vest pattern
And it's the Friday Sleepover by PetiteKnit.
This vest features broken rib texture
and it's very classical, simple,
not much to say about it.
It's knitted with fingering plus lace yarn which makes it DK,
the gauge is 22 stitches.
Very good combo again, fingering plus mohair.
Yeah, can't go wrong with
It's an older pattern,
it came out March 2020 and it has
2086 projects on Ravelry, a very popular pattern.
Next vest is more of a modern take on a slipover vest
and it's the sleek slipover by Yui Yamamura.
The shape of the vest is the showstopper here.
It is a bit more wide on top and then you have this ribbing section.
I don't know how some designers manage
to put out a very simple pattern in a way or
very simple design but yet it looks very unique
and different and in this case it's
achieved with the shape of the vest.
This vest is worked top down seamlessly.
It calls for bulky weight yarn, the gauge is 14.5 stitches.
It wouldn't take long to knit it up and it's an older pattern,
it came out March 2023 and it has 138 projects on Ravelry.
Next we have another cable vest,
it's the Maisie vest by Emily Henn and this time
this cable vest look features v-neck and button band as well.
Very beautiful cabled motif. It's a very stylish vest.
It's knitted on a pretty tight
gauge. It calls for light fingering and lace
which makes it sport weight yarn. The gauge is 32 stitches
so it would take a while to knit it up
but from the sample images the end result is definitely
Worth it.
It's a new pattern,
it came out August 2026 and it has 49 projects on Ravelry.
The last pattern in this category is Betsy vest by Miranda Copeland
and it's a colorful vest that has
a cow motif on it. Very kind of simple fun pattern. There has been many
Like animal-motif patterns out there
that have gained a lot of popularity recently.
There was a moment when everyone wanted
to knit up fish-motif sweaters and cow-motif sweaters.
At the time I didn't understand why people liked these patterns.
They didn't speak with me so much.
But now...
I met this cow and I fell in love apparently.
Definitely more of a statement piece to have in
your wardrobe and it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea
but I think we all should have some of
the statement pieces in our hand-knitted wardrobe to add some variety.
This pattern came out last
Last year, May 2025, and it has 186 projects on Ravelry,
so pretty popular one.
Now let's talk about jackets.
Jackets are perfect for days where you don't need a heavy coat,
but you still need some warmth, and jackets are perfect for this.
These patterns are knitted on a very dense gauge
to give you more of the outer layer effect.
The first pattern in this category is Haraboi Cardigan by Eikyo Knit.
It's a very beautiful cabled textured cardigan
or jacket that has actually a very unique
construction.
You start with the sleeve,
so you knit this cardigan vertically, not horizontally.
So it would be a very interesting technique and method to test out.
The suggested yarn is Roma Fibre,
which is iron weight yarn and the gauge is 18 stitches.
It's a bit older pattern,
it came out 2023 and it has 275 projects on Ravelry.
The next pattern is the Dagmar jacket by PetiteKnit.
It's a very popular pattern at the moment.
Everyone seems to be knitting this one and no surprise why.
The design is very beautiful,
the stitch patterns are pretty easy to knit up usually
and it's definitely worth checking out.
I really like the diamond motifs on the jacket,
it's very well balanced, beautiful
modern design and it would be a good addition to anyone's wardrobe.
This pattern came out September 2024
and it has 2114 projects on Ravelry as of now.
The next pattern is the Fixed Cardigan by Georgia Fibers
and as you can see we have a theme here.
Many of these jackets have texture
and cables going on and this is no different.
It has a beautiful braid along the sleeve
and then some of the cables along this unique
This pattern came out
May 2024 and it has 279
projects on Ravelry.
The last pattern in this category is Hanna jacket by PetiteKnit.
I wanted to add a simpler version of a jacket in this list
and I think the Hanna jacket
That would be perfect.
It's a new pattern, came out September 2026
and yeah it's a very simple stockinette jacket.
It has on sample images these cute buttons
which I believe are wood buttons.
This design features a higher neckline,
a bit boxy fit, yeah very cute.
Jacket. It's knitted up with aran weight yarn.
The gauge is 18 stitches. As I said, it's a newer
pattern. It came out September 2026
and it has 31 projects on Ravelry already.
Now it's time to talk about the last category, the artsy knits.
And I know you have a pattern
that you've been thinking about knitting,
but you have been putting it off.
Maybe you think it's a bit too complicated
or maybe you think it's a bit too out there design-wise
and my invitation here is to knit it up this autumn.
I know that these kind of patterns are a bit more risky.
You maybe are not sure if you are able to complete it,
or maybe you are not sure would you really wear it that much,
but sometimes we need to take risks
and the perfect time to do it is this autumn.
Why to put off things?
But I will also give you some pattern ideas as well,
even though I know that you know what you want to knit.
The first pattern in this category is Glaze Jumper by Rootman Designs.
On the sample images you can see a man wearing this sweater
but in the description it actually
says that it's a unisex pattern
and there are a few pictures where a woman is wearing it as well.
It's a very unique colorwork design.
It's knitted top down in the round. It has round yoke
Construction.
And the sample images give you two different options how to knit it up.
If you want to have a bolder look,
then you can knit the first section in one color,
and then the second section in a different color.
But there's also a more minimal design option,
where you knitted one main color,
and then the details of the color work with a second color.
Both options look very good.
A definitely a pattern you should check out.
The next pattern is maybe a bit more classical
and it's the Goldman diamond sweater by Naiad.
It's very yeah classical in a way that I think
in 10 years from now it would still
be very stylish piece to wear and it also goes
With the very trendy baba style as well,
very boxy look.
It's knitted up with worsted weight yarn,
the gauge is 20 stitches and the collar work
is knitted up with intarsia method
because there are these bigger sections.
Very stylish, cozy pattern.
It came out August 2025 and it has 20 projects on Ravelry.
The next pattern is Teo Sweater by Colibri by Johanna.
It's a beautiful striped sweater,
but instead of having regular stripes,
these stripes are alternating the sleeves compared to the body.
Very interesting and unique take on a striped sweater.
This sweater is knitted with two strands of silk mohair.
The gauge is 19 stitches.
You knit it top down in the round
and it has a thin sleeve construction.
Very beautiful.
Hi, everyone.
Hi.
The colors you pick can kind of give you very different
Thank you very much for the wonderful, and
This is...
And I really did enjoy your presentation.
And I'm so thankful to you.
You're welcome.
feels of the sweater.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome.
You can pick more of a neutral colors but you can also
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah.
I'm looking forward to it.
It's such a pleasure.
use color like on the sample images for example.
I think both your presentation and your presentation are very helpful.
Thank you.
And thank you, Jeff.
Bye-bye.
But I think that even if you would pick more
Have a great day.
Have a wonderful day.
Thank you, everyone.
of a neutral palette for the sweater
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
Bye-bye.
Bye-bye.
Because of the alternating stripes it's still very unique.
Thank you.
We're done.
I'm going to get going now.
I still have some internet problems.
It's a new pattern.
It came out May 2026 and it has 15 projects on Ravelry.
I think the reason why it doesn't have
so many projects yet is that it came out in May.
And it's a warm sweater actually and many people don't want to knit
with two strands of mohair during the summer.
So I think this pattern will have much more popularity
in upcoming months.
The last sweater is Lumber Sweater by The Knit Bees On.
It's a beautiful colorwork sweater
which has a classic checkered gingham pattern.
That's how it
says in the pattern description
and this motif is very trendy at the moment and what I do like
about this trend is that it's very classical as well
so it wouldn't go out of style.
It's knitted with lace plus lace which makes it sport weight.
The gauge is 18 stitches.
18 stitches doesn't sound so sporty to me but it is what it is.
And it's knitted top down in the round.
It has saddle shoulder construction and the colorwork
is knitted up with the stranded colorwork method.
Another beautiful pattern to try out.
This pattern came out January 2025 and it has 22 projects on Ravelry.
So these were the patterns
and I actually really would like
to know what you plan to knit this autumn.
Because I don't know who are watching these videos.
I would really like to know are you more
of a beginner, intermediate,
advanced to get a better understanding and it would give me some
insight what type of videos to make in the future.
So please give me some insight what
are you knitting at the moment
or what do you plan to knit this autumn season.
So, thank you for watching,
I'm glad you are here and I hope to see you in the next video. Bye bye.
