Immigration enforcement and border security have been major parts of President Donald Trump’s second term, as they were also big topics on the Trump-Vance campaign trail.

The Trump Administration has been making it a priority to deport as many illegal immigrants as possible who have committed crimes in the U.S. or abroad, or who qualify as being national security concerns.

Statistics from the Department of Homeland Security show that from Jan. 20, 2025, to Jan. 20, 2026, there have been 3 million deportations in total.

Of those, 675,000 were forced deportations and 2.2 million were self deportations. The White House also touts that in 2025 the U.S. had a negative net migration for the first time in at least a half-century.
