Joining me now is the wonderful Demi Lovato.
So good to see you, Demi.
Great to see you, too.
We go back, I know, and I'm like, oh my gosh, you look great.
Better than ever.
Way back.
I'm so proud of you.
I was just telling you, I love your new music.
Thank you.
Because I love the, like, the upbeat, fun.
Is that what, like, the kind of vibe you were going for?
Yes, definitely.
I think where I'm at in my life today, I'm just having, like, so much fun.
I'm in such a great place, and I wanted my music to reflect that.
So that's what we did with it on my album, It's Not That Deep.
And it's just fun, celebratory dance pop music.
So, Demi, I know you're going on tour this spring.
Have you been preparing, or what can we expect?
Yes, definitely.
I've been preparing a lot.
You know, I am in the gym.
I'm working on my cardio so that I'm not out of breath when I sing.
I'm strengthening the muscles in my body so that I'm good to go with my dance moves.
And I'm staying hydrated with Kali water.
And I'm very, very excited to go on the road.
We start, the first show is April 13th in Orlando, Florida.
Awesome.
Well, I think that deserves a salute.
I know you brought us some drinks right here.
Please tell me, salute, please tell me what we're drinking.
Well, this is a mixed drink, a mocktail, but it's made with Kali water.
Okay.
And my flavor is blood orange.
Yeah, I was going to say, I like blood orange.
Yeah, it's so good.
It's so refreshing.
Kali water is actually cactus water and it's really great because it's rich in antioxidants.
It's got a ton of electrolytes and it's sustainable.
It's delicious.
I drink one daily.
It's really important for me to stay hydrated.
So I take them on the go.
I take them on the road and I'll be drinking a lot on tour.
Yeah.
A lot of them on tour.
Yes, yes, yes.
It's really good.
Thank you.
I'm going to take those.
Yes, definitely.
Are you going to have any special guests on tour?
Yes, my opening act.
Her name is Adela.
She's incredible.
And I'm such a fan of her music.
She's so talented.
She's so cool.
I've heard someone say she's your favorite pop star's favorite pop star.
And that's exactly correct.
She's just, she's incredible.
So yeah, I can't wait to tour with her.
Well, if anyone, if someone hasn't had the opportunity to see you perform live,
I've seen, she's incredible.
And yeah, the vocals just next level right there.
So looking forward to checking that out.
I know we were talking right before.
Congratulations.
It's been about a year, right?
Since it's going to be about a year since you've been married.
Yeah.
Are you liking it so far?
Oh, I love it.
It's so much fun.
I think it's so much fun.
You know, you get to like, I just have.
Oh, pretty dress.
Oh, thank you so much.
I just have the best time with him.
We will stay up so late, just laughing until we're crying.
And I think that's the best part about being married to your best friend.
It's just like a giant sleepover every night.
And it's so much fun.
And he's so incredible.
He's so amazing.
I love him so much.
He's so talented, so supportive, so caring.
I could go on and on about him.
I love him so much.
I love, I love hearing that.
Have you gotten into the, it feels like my wife and I spent about an hour
to decide what we're going to watch on TV.
And then we're so tired of him that I'm not.
Are you pretty good about it?
We're dialed.
We know you're locked in.
Oh yeah.
We're locked in with what we want to watch.
But when it comes to what we want to eat, then we're like, then that's the way.
Fair enough.
As I got to imagine, he's inspired a lot of your work.
Oh yeah, absolutely.
He's inspired so much.
That's cool.
And you say he's an artist himself, right?
Yes.
Well, he, he, he's an artist himself, but we met in the studio, which was a beautiful
beginning to our love story.
And, um, yeah, he came in as a songwriter on my last album, Holy F.
And, um, we just connected, we became friends and then later on started dating and, um,
it's the rest is history.
The rest is history.
That's awesome.
I was, I was going to talk about one of the viral moments that happened last year when
you reunited with your Camp Rock co-stars.
Oh yeah.
That must've been a lot of fun.
It was so fun.
Oh, it was obviously, uh, planned that you guys were playing on that.
Okay.
So it wasn't an impromptu thing.
That must've been a fun experience.
It was so much fun.
You know, getting to sing with them was so nostalgic for me, I think for all of us.
And, um, it was, it was a really good time.
I had a blast.
And, um, now we're, you know, working on Camp Rock three together.
I'm an executive producer and it's really exciting.
I can't wait to see the new generation, you know, make their own history.
Are you able to kind of talk about what we can expect or surprise?
Um, I'm going to leave it to, I'm going to let it be a surprise, but you know,
the new generation is coming in and it's all about giving them their moment and letting them shine.
Okay.
Well, congrats on that.
Look forward to checking it out.
Now I want to talk about the cookbook.
Yeah.
It's a beautiful cover right there.
Tell me about it.
So this is my cookbook called One Plate at a Time.
Good title.
And basically I made this cookbook.
I have a history of eating disorders and, um, I wanted to work on, or I wanted to make
a cookbook for people that are also in recovery from disordered eating.
Um, but as I started working on it, it, I, my recovery has just blossomed with getting
in the kitchen and cooking and getting my hands on the food and making it with love.
And it's really helped my journey with food, helped me find freedom with food.
And, um, I wanted to, you know, provide this tool for other people that have had a history
with disordered eating.
But then as I started working on it, I was like, you know what, this could be a great
book for anybody that's intimidated by the kitchen and stepping foot into the kitchen
for the first time.
So I started cooking just a few years ago.
I'm, I'm, I'm still, you know, learning, but, um, these recipes are for people that, um,
are stepping foot into the kitchen for the first time and looking to find freedom with
food themselves.
Oh, that's great.
Cause it can be intimidating.
So it can be very intimidating.
Absolutely.
But, you know, we made simple recipes that are full of flavor and, um, I can't wait for
everyone to get their hands on it.
Do you have a particular favorite dish?
I have so many favorite dishes from this, uh, cookbook.
There's a chili that I make all the time that I love.
Um, there's a spaghetti bolognese recipe that I make, uh, that's delicious.
Um, yeah, we have chilaquiles.
Okay.
Yeah.
But your roots are, I love chilaquiles.
Yeah.
I'll make it down to the chilaquiles then.
Okay.
I'm so good to see you.
Congratulations on everything.
Great to see you too.
You look better than ever and you're killing it as always.
