Argentina 🇦🇷 vs. Slovenia 🇸🇮 - Highlights | Women's World Championships 2025

and we're all set to go jonathan ledger and kennedy mason ready to talk you through this final match for argentina and slovenia in nacon rachisima silla with the first reception yakovic with the first hit kunio doesn't get the first point so let's see if silla can do that and lo and behold she does that may come straight back over rodriguez pops it there but a chance here for silla she's got two blockers in front of her maia then goes for batalina the tip but this is in system for slovenia and silla looks to go cross court and then goes down the line not quite able to get the swings the way that she wanted to that was an excellent pickup as well from milicic coming in dug silla's pass has taken pavelic mori off the net let's see what her hit does answer is get a point off the block just off the fingertips she bests a lot of players with her vertical when we started playing volleyball age 16 which used to play football in native ghana that's a great pickup by urich straight to where pavelic mori wanted it silla arrives and silla scores i think you're off her oh nice turn nice center dump that was really well disguised from the didn't even take a look over her shoulder just knew where that title winner last season domestically here comes kunio but not so fast put through nice pass and zakovich just comes onto it so elegantly and then the power through that right arm that was another good deep serve and this is a scramble for argentina silla leading scorer doesn't put it down this time well read by maya oh yes rodriguez hasn't missed many big ask for them to take this first set slovenia hoping to close this out that's very close to the net for rodriguez two players going for the same ball another good joust by pancic but here comes kunio oh yes slovenia may not be favorites for the match but surely for this set and there it goes the captain delivers fast middle attack 25 20 way through slovenia really just finding their rhythm and there's a perfect example of it from planet connecting so well with her setter putting that one away and securing the first set for the underdog against czechia and ended up losing 3-2 that's nicely put away by milosic nice pass really good and still a exhibition stuff maya off the net block ready it's gone high but it's another big block and that was the heart lovely pass fortuna and put away that's in that's a beautiful ace kunio was running round sila looking to build on this two-point lead and eventually it's going to get over i thought i was going to go to ground here comes sila though and she'll just drop it in there didn't the coach enjoy that sila up to 12 now overall top score in the match it's another good block is up jurek was there so difficult to find improvisation by norbert field in the end it comes back recycled to pavlovic modia says sorry about that set i'm not exactly sure what we've got jana govic on serving at the moment and there's no break in service for slovenia because that's another wonderful stop block 24 all 25 all and so on slovenia in control at the moment looking to close out set two that's a lovely swing by bull edge two swings two points lovely block where it was going and cabrera was up and hanging reassurance this bully edge tries to regain lost ground down she goes but she can't keep it in play because sasha panicic so are slovenia going to wobble again or can they close it out there's the tip and there's the answer planning touch and swinging those arms into the center of court that's a free ball for argentina and bull h is on it again not quite a conviction or is it tiredness from silla not cutting through going that up and in the end that was clever 15 points for her still the top score in the match jurich makes it look so easy that she takes a tumble does not make that look easy that was power and i love how hard you're at just celebrating after this that's exactly what you want as a libero 13 points four less than silla who's waiting to come forward not needed milošić is there and she can still pack a punch slovenia putting a pile of shots through the middle at the moment and they're finding success with them all good serve well read by palazzo bull h is blocked and milošić just takes that come on look at this right to daniela bull h suddenly we're back out to three another lovely pass off the hands jurich is in the right place good defense and here comes silla oh she nailed that as that out it's in according to danis espedes block keeping bull h quiet and they go again she goes deeper that's a great dig by laura fjork chance for kunio to go to work and laura fjork does another brilliant job keeping that in plan then syllable try to finish doesn't do so what a great point this is silla goes again maya's easily there palazzo will feed kunio once more and that's a great swing what a great point but when it came to it zakovich dropping a little too their best volleyball but both just gritting their teeth and getting it done oh what a good dig that is maya will go for kunio who's a long way off the net oh what a great lead that was by silla ducking quickly it was so key they got to go again but right between milošić and laura fjork they weren't in the lead against czechia in that third set here they are they're in the driving seat it's theirs to close out oh nice pick up by graf another chance for rodriguez a long way off the net silla keeps it in play and here comes zakovich oh she's put that in she has indeed nailed it on the line and you're or an expat slovenian supporter how comfortable are you at the moment as milba fjork returns a bit of confusion with that pass and that's gone long from kunio hello it's suddenly four match points with argentina requesting a block touch but i think that is an air of not quite desperation but was there really a touch then that's very quick that is always a bad sign for the team challenging nicole perez has got to get this in silla will go again and then off the hands there's no mistake this time it counts 25 21 slovenia have made history they have won their first match at this world championship level
