USA 🇺🇸 vs. Slovenia 🇸🇮 - Highlights | Men's World Championships 2025

And Chaplin gets us underway with a good serve after Mijanovic who's going to swing on this and Shoji makes the dig. Eward out wide to open the scoring. Pick-up incredible by Chaplin and what a start to this game. Payek sets, Tomczak's goal. Oh wow the balls go wide, the points gone for Slovenia. So many points of action. Here's Robb Brett. Good reception. Oh goodness, Jeff Gendry. Quite frankly in Slovenia's experience showing right now. Garcia, there it is. There it is from Gabi Garcia. Right, Ziga Stern at the service light. Slovenia have got themselves in a good place coming up to halfway through set one. Chaplin passing well. Eward dug. Oh it's a massive effort but there is serious heat coming from the USA side of the net. Chaplin. Oh it's close. It's close. It's in. Chaplin with the ace for 9-12. Robb Brett can go again. 15-10. Shoji, good ball. Garcia one-on-one nails the line this time. Garcia one ace already. Him and Chaplin with the ace serves. That's over on one. Another big chance here for USA. Oh look at that for a dig by Robb Brett. Oh no stopping that. Jerry Cedric is getting up. Turns 40 next birthday. Goes after Garcia. Oh pure class from Christensen again. McHenry on to Mijanovic. Kozomyrnyk so big makes it look easy. Another classy pass from Chaplin. Garcia with the tip. Covered. Mijanovic sent backwards. Christensen this needs to be good. Eward. Oh it's down and that is a massive moment for Slovenia. Stern gets us underway in the second set. Chaplin into Christensen. Back out to Chaplin with the tip. Tomczek thinks he stopped it. Ziggestum kept off the floor and Chaplin can go again. Can only roll it off the hands. Robb Brett with a few options. Payek can't find the floor but they can go again and Tomczek's doing. Dug by Christensen. Incredible. Garcia over the shoulder. Denied. Robb Brett. Ziggestum. Christensen again. Chaplin blocked. Will end this time. Garcia and it is down. Epic start to the second set. It's only one point for a side out. What's happening at the beginning of these sets Dave? I don't know what to do with myself. I mean Micah just stood in there and took. Generally I can text me that one but uh Mijanovic certainly is that right now. Mijanovic went with the high heavy heat. Eward just put a dent in the floor. Oh wow. Tomczek came. It's having a party. How good is that set? I mean the swing's incredible. That's the one we were talking about. So it's Urnau. Get it targeted. Rob Graczko first swing for him. Shoji's underneath it. Everything going USA. Set point. Side out will do for the USA. Will be locked at one each. Eward gets down low and he can swing for it but into the block. Set point saved. Most important thing for Robb Brett is to make them earn it. And he does. Chaplin dives in. Christensen. Eward does it. Just as it looked like the USA might wobble. George Eward is the calmest man out there. Good news sports fans. It's going at least four sets. Absolutely. Chaplin. Three aces for him so far. The top server in the game gets the third set underway. And McHenry thought he'd got Pajak. And he has. That's a poor touch call. Shorter to Eward. This should go down. Chaplin. Oh Mijanovic gets a touch. And from back court gets dug by Eward. Christensen to Chaplin. Up against three. Mijanovic. Awesome. Robb Brett. Graczko. Well recycled. He can go again. And Robb Brett out to Tonczak Stuhn. Oh the hustle from Slovenia. And Mijanovic. It just won't end. Robb Graczko. Gendryk all alone. I think Michael just kept his hands down thinking maybe he was going to go for the rafters. Hits a full court wipeout after every long rally. Gendryk. Graczko. Oh my goodness. Is having a horrid time out there. But he can go again. And he can get dug again. And USA. They are playing. Now Graczko. One area of his game that has been going well is the serve. But Shoji. On the money. Oh it's quick. And Tonczak Stuhn gets a touch. Mijanovic. He's got a steely look about him hasn't he? Good serve as well. Mijanovic pushes it out wide. Garcia has got him big. Crazy. And again. They might challenge this. But they're not going to eat it because the charge. Well spotted by our officials. I mean it's ever so slight but it is. Yeah. You can see the fingers breaking the plane there. It's a fortunate bounce anyways. Hey point to point. No pictures in a scorebook. Set point USA for a 2-1 lead. Oh Gendryk making digs. Christensen. Finished by Ewan. And that is as comfortable as USA have looked in this fixture. Serving in what could potentially be Slovenia's last set of the world championships. Christensen. Garcia. Off the hands. Important block touch. Out to Tonczak. Stuhn. Cross court. Goes after Christensen. Goes out wide. What a ball into Christensen. McHenry gets touched on the block. Jamplett gets high. But Ziga Stuhn's there. Rapre. Mijanovic. Christensen on defense. Garcia on offense. Oh and we're gonna have all these rallies again. Surely not. Christensen. Jamplett. Oh what a dig. But Tonczak can't get there. That's it. And not just lose the match but the manner of the performance as well. That's a good start from Pajic. Mijanovic said I'm gonna pass like a man and Pajic said I'm gonna finish like a man. Rapre. No chance. 11-8. Decent lead. His hitting stats are high. Capable server. Khashoggi. A very capable passer. Nice and blocked touch. Christensen in position. And just a tip but Slovenia can't capitalize. They cannot capitalize because Garcia is playing like he's got a dinner reservation. Good luck everyone. Ziga Stuhn. Important sign out. Quality from Ziga as well. Just bringing everyone in. Just trying to stoke the fire. Christensen. Jamplett. Oh what a touch from Garcia. Christensen with the swing. Creates enough doubt. And Ziga Stuhn offers up a free ball. Right. What does Christensen do next? Teaser. Oh my goodness. And Ziga gets him. It's 14-14. We are onside out. Looked a long way away earlier in the set. Urnau receives. Maybe it's coming of age point for this USA team. Gabi Garcia. What a bomb. Oh what a victory for USA.
