Hi everybody and welcome back to my kitchen. Let's talk beer. Let's talk micheladas. Let's
talk this big category that is called cerveza preparada or a prepared beer and usually people
and none of this is set in stone and a lot of people will argue with all different parts of
this but I'm gonna say that most people that I talk to divide the world of cheladas from micheladas
and the cheladas are the ones that simply have lime juice ice and salted rim and a beer poured
on that that's very simple and incredibly refreshing especially when it's really really hot
now if you want to take the next step the you can add some more things to it and I have three
of the things that you could add right here we have hot sauce of course a Mexican hot sauce
we have jugomagi now that is one of those deep rich flavors that will remind you a little bit
of soy sauce which is something that some people put in here worcestershire sauce is another one
and what's not here is clamato so clamato is that clam flavored tomato juice that was developed in
northern Mexico and a lot of people like putting some of that in here too I like it all and
sometimes in I'm in mood for different things so let's just build one of them here it needs a
salted rim so you can do a regular salted rim just like you would do for a margarita or you could do
tajin rim so pretty much everybody knows tajin it's a salt chili and dehydrated lime mix and
that's what I'm going to do here I'm just going to put this I rub the lime all around the top of it
of course and now I've got that on there next thing is to fill this glass with ice and that's
sort of a an odd thing for somebody who perhaps has never had this before that they would think
you're going to pour beer over ice but it is a really big part of all of this so I'm going to
put in a little bit of of this tomasula hot sauce and again everything is to your own
discretion here I'm going to skip the hugomagi for the moment and put in worcestershire sauce
to deepen the flavor now the critical thing of course here is the lime because it is going to
make this whole thing kind of come together flavor-wise and you're going to want a couple
of tablespoons but you'll have to may if you've never made micheladas before you're going to
want to do this a little bit at a time so I've got exactly two tablespoons there and that's what
I'm going to start with now I will need to stir all of this together get those flavors melding
there I do like the one with the clamato in here too because that's almost a different drink to me
then open the beer and pour it in I'm going to give it another stir here
just to make sure all the flavors are blended beautifully top it off with a little bit more
beer there and salute
