Global Milk Formula Recall Traced to Chinese Biotech Company in Wuhan
China is under scrutiny over contaminated baby food. A global infant formula recall has traced its source to a biotech company in Wuhan, China.
Chinese company Cabio Biotech has been identified as the producer of arachidonic acid—or ARA oil—which has been linked to contamination at the center of a worldwide baby-formula recall launched in January.
Three major dairy groups—Nestlé, Lactalis, and Danone—pulled baby formula products over concerns about cereulide, a toxin made by a food-poisoning bacteria.
