Hi everyone. Today I'm going to be showing you how to make this cute hat. I made it for
my husband. It's a man hat. But women can use it too. Of course children too.
And I explain how you can make it bigger or smaller in the video. Please watch the full video
So you can adjust it easily. And for this one I use 5.5 millimeter hook and line brand
Pound of Love. And this wool is, you don't have to use Pound of Love for a hat.
But I like this color. So I use this and both of these yarn are category 4 yarns,
so I use them together. But you can use any category 4 yarn. Just wait a minute. I will
show you how many grams of yarn are used. It's 71 grams. You will need less than 100 grams of yarn.
So of course you will need more from this first color. And I think 50 grams from this one and this
one will be fairly enough for this hat. And I made a hat so similar before. That was one of my first
video. And I have so less English and I'm not a pro right now too. But I watched it
a few days ago and I thought like I must make a new video but not exactly same.
So I use this slip stitch, a half double slip stitch stitch for this one. But if you have any
problem with the other one, you can follow this one too with the measurements maybe.
And that's all. If you are ready, please don't forget to subscribe to my channel. You can start
with a slip knot and then make 30 chains. I made 30 chains and now I will change the color.
Grab second color, pull through and make 20 chains with this. That's 20 and add only one more.
It's for starting. Now I have 51 chains right now. I could give you the measurements.
It's 13 inches long, 33 centimeters. If you want to make it bigger or if you are using
a different kind of yarn, a smaller size yarn maybe,
you could have more chains when you reach 32-33 centimeters.
Just think it this way. First, find your chain numbers. Okay. Make some chains with a color
with the yarn you will use. Then measure it. If it's 33 centimeters, that's good for you.
Just count your chains then divide it by 5. And for this example, when I divide 50 by 5, I have 10.
Put three parts for this first color, two parts for the second color. That makes here 30.
2, 10, 20. You can calculate your numbers with this way. I need one more. Then turn
yarn over, skip this first stitch, insert into the next one. I turn my chains as you can see.
Insert this back bump, grab the yarn and directly pull through this loop from these two. Yarn over,
insert. It's a kind of half double slip stitch. Make it 20 times for this color.
By the way, that's adult men size, but women can wear it too. This size will work for women too.
But for the children, you can start with 25 centimeters. I made 19 half double slip stitch
right now. Yarn over, insert here and I will complete the other one with the next color.
Grab this one, pull through and don't leave this cream yarn from the back side. First,
complete this half with this color. Then take this yarn to the front side.
Then yarn over, starting from the next bump, make 30 half double slip stitch.
See you at the end. Now I'm making the last one. That's 30. Chain one, turn. Yarn over,
you will repeat the same thing from now on. We will use back loops, only back loops here.
Insert your hoop and make a half double slip stitch. Now you reach to the end, start for the
last one, insert here, leave this yarn and complete it with the other color. Then take your
yarn to the front side and keep making half double slip stitch. That's the last one. Chain one and
turn. I prefer to turn always same direction. If you are turning this way, make always this way.
I'm turning from the left side. You can fix your yarns anytime you like.
Use the back loops again. I will show you how to change the yarn one more time,
then I will leave it to you. Okay, I insert here for the last one,
grab the second color and complete half double slip stitch. Grab the yarn and take it to the
front side, then keep going. We will repeat this for how many rows we want.
You know hats are change and better way is always wrapping around your hat
and find the right measurements. Don't forget this one will be so elastic.
You don't have to make so many rows and if you want you can search google for the measurements
too, but I will give you some measurements too. It's my husband's measurements. I'm making this
and turn back to you. Now I finish it. This part will be the top part. I'm
holding it a little wrong I think now and I want to show you this. That's our
starting point and that's our finishing point. Okay and I will give you the measurements.
It's 38 centimeters 39 maybe 15 inches long. That fits to my husband but you can adjust it
as I told you before. I keep telling this because always the biggest problem of these
tutorials is measurements because most of you try to use the stitch numbers instead of the measurements
but I think that's not the right way. I think all of you must trust yourself and try
to adjust it. You can make it. It's easy. Just don't afraid to make it. Okay because I'm taking
this kind of comments like I made everything with the same way but mine is so small so big
maybe. That's because our hands change. You can use the same hook. You can use the same yarn but
our hands, our guts are not the same. So it could be bigger or smaller. Use the measurements.
Now put these two together. We will join the sides. Insert from the first stitch.
Grab the loop. Pull through. Make a chain. Insert both loops. I'm using the first loop again.
Insert only back loop. Make a slip stitch. Both loops. Back loop. Slip stitch. Back loop.
Keep joining. That's the last one. Make a chain and cut this yarn. We will hide it later.
Now insert from the next loop and back loop. Make a chain. Insert into the next loop.
Back loop and keep joining with the same way. Just leave the last 10 or maybe 12
stitches here. I join here and leave 12 stitches. Let's turn the work and this will be the right
side. As you can see. You will not see and see the joining part. Now we will try to make this
brim part the same way. Insert from the next loop. Grab the yarn. Make a chain. Now this time you can
insert both loops from two sides. Make a slip stitch. Both loops. Both loops.
That's the last one. Now I want to show you how to hide the tail.
Just cut it and hide all the tails the same way. That's it. Now we will close
this top part. Now I'm gonna close this top part from the back side. I haven't made any knots here.
I will leave a long tail and use it while I'm
squeezing this part. I meet the last one and I will close here nicely.
Just make a few more moves. Not too much. I'm gonna hide this tail too.
And that's all. I hope you like this tutorial. If you like, please thumbs up and don't forget
