Good morning. Welcome back to my channel. Welcome back to a brand new video. I feel
like it's been a while since we've had a little retail therapy at B&M, the mothership. In
fact, this is the first time this year that I've definitely been. And obviously, yeah,
I went when it was like Christmas-y time, but I'm feeling New Year, organization, within
probably, I was going to say probably today's video or my next video, probably my next video.
I want to have a kitchen predominantly, but there are other areas of the house as well
that need sorting out, but a bit of a clear out and reorganized. So I'm going to keep
my eyes peeled for any kind of storage organizational bits that I feel like might be a nice addition.
So we're at B&M. That's where we're starting today. So I thought I would pick up the camera,
show you guys what's new and as well. I feel like a lot of people in January, although
I'm thinking New Year, organized, things like that, I think a lot of us are also on a bit of
not spending ban, but just what it's like after Christmas. You don't want to just spend loads
of money. So it's always easier for me to show you everything in store rather than buy loads
that I'm like 50-50 on. I'll just show you everything that I like in store. And then
anything I do pick up, I'll show you when I get home later on today. So yeah, we might even,
I've seen McDonald's have like the secret menu, treat ourselves and maybe try something from the
secret menu. They've got a new friend's menu coming out in February as well. I don't know
why I'm like all of a sudden McDonald's love it over here. Well, not all of a sudden, let's face
it. I like McDonald's for a long while, but when I'm doing a little solo self-care, because this
is self-care for me, trip, retail therapy trip to B&M, I think why not just go all out and treat
myself to like a little McDonald's lunch as well at the same time. Grab a nice cozy drink and some
snacks, get comfy, and let's go see what is new in B&M. I wonder if they'll have any sale bits
with it being January. Let's go find out. I see Christmas sale. Oh, that's a slow opening door.
Wow. I didn't even see this at Christmas, but it's half price. Definitely not in the mood for
buying Christmas stuff right now, but I guess now is the time to do so. If you want a bargain,
although 50% off, it's not, you know, it's an all right saving. Although these aren't necessarily
festive, they're just cozy fleece leggings for nice winter's walks. They are half price at,
well, but not quite, but eight pounds. Got some men's fleeces, some heated slip-ins from 25p.
Wow. I think this is the last of the Christmas sale I'll show you, but they've also got these
gingerbread baskets in at five pounds. I could not show you some of their Easter chocs that
they're getting in. And this is probably the best Easter chocolate ever. The mini eggs chocolate
bar. So delicious, but it's too early and we still have loads of, honestly, we have loads
of Christmas chocolate left over. Terry's cream egg. These are quite funny chocolate bars. I've
not seen these limited edition dairy milks, but maybe for like a little Valentine's gift,
if you're buying for your other half, it's just quite funny, isn't it? Like that section is for
who goes into clothes shop, who sits on the bench, who spent ages looking for them out versus who
sat on it. Just in the pet section. Oh, that's like a little tangle teaser brush for them.
But yeah, I saw this, which I don't think I've seen before. Bamboo treat tin at seven pounds.
I thought that would look really nice set out. We've already got one for Barney, but yeah, for
like your little biscuits and treats, if you wanted to keep them out, but in a nice looking tin.
Starting to see all of the new spring scents coming out as well. I don't remember this one from last
year. First day of spring for the Lenore Unstoppables. I wish I'd have seen this around
Christmas time, but they've got sparkling lemon, which is probably better for this time of the year
or cotton fresh. Spiced apple washing machine cleaner. It sounds really good.
They've also got some new Zephlora scents, or at least one that I've seen that's new.
The white daisy and jasmine. I need to stock up on a new dry shampoo and Batiste is always my go-to.
I was going to try the blonde one, but they haven't got any. They've just got the brunette.
So this is a new one, which I thought I could have a try. Electrify supercharged raspberry.
Although the only thing is with things that are really heavily scented, I do end up then just
going back to the original, because I also feel like having a strong scent might clash with a
perfume you're wearing or something. Although raspberry sounds lovely, I think I'm just going
to stick with the classic original for now. This would have been good as well, had I have
spotted this around Christmas time. Mint cocoa, but also I have just recently sorted through all
of my beauty bits and I have a few lip balms already. What else have they got? Oh, do I need
a new ... I think I need a new mistletoe water. They've got one left of the one that I like to
use, just the pink one, whichever that one is. Just sensitive skin, I guess.
Wow. Look how close to Laneige these look. This one's like the one that I've got. In fact,
that is such a close dupe. It looks identical. Always it baffles me how they get away with
the dupes. That's like a dupe of Bioma. I wonder if it's any good though. I just don't try it
because I just feel like I love my Laneige one so much. But if you have tried this and like it,
let me know. Also, the ingredients of the Laneige one are super friendly and good for you and not
harsh at all. When you scan the barcode on the app Yooka, which I really like to use, Y-U-K-A,
and it tells you all of the ingredients for food products, beauty products. It comes up that the
Laneige is really good. It's got really high ratings, so that's why I really like to just
stick with that. But I might try scanning this and see what it comes up as. I'll scan it now
and put an image on screen as to its rating. See, there you go. As predicted, it says
poor. So I think I will leave it on this occasion and just stick with what I know.
But awesome. Cute little hand sanitizers. Anyway, I feel like I don't need any other beauty bits.
I'm going to get this though because I do like this for makeup removal. But that's everything
I need, I think, from beauty. Right, let's go look at the home section now. This is the bit
that I like most. These are new. Wow, £4 is really affordable. That's really nice. That towel ladder,
very White Company style, and only £12. These are all really good actually. That little over
the door towel holder for space saving. This little caddy for putting your products on.
How much is that one? I would say £15. I think of all of the bathroom collections,
this is my favourite one. I think that one looks the nicest, the kind of like ridged stone and
dark wood. But they have also got that matching bobble wand. They've also got the matching
toilet brush for that as well at £8. I've also just spotted these which look new.
Three reusable dispensers, £5. Yeah, they're just plastic, but they give off a nice look.
They're like a stone kind of colour. That's pretty reasonable at £5 for all of those.
I don't usually walk down this section which has lots of like furniture bits, but I thought I would
just to show you any new bits. I have spotted a table, a side table that looks lovely. How nice
is that? £25. Oh, they must have a matching one that is like a short one. Side by side,
they look really nice together. A little step stool, ideal for in the kitchen that's now on
sale. That is reduced down to £12. They have a couple in the sale as well. These marble bottom
glass top ones are reduced to £15. This dark walnut wood is reduced down to £12. That's not
too bad. That's a pretty good price. Wow, look at this, travertine finish coffee table. Does that
mean it's not actually travertine? Yeah, I feel like it'd be heavier if it was, but
that is gorgeous. What else is there? That's the matching coffee table to the side table I showed
you earlier at £40. That's like a big coffee table version reduced down to £30. These would
good little bedside tables if you've got a small space at £25. This sideboard is, wow, that's £100
that one. Kind of premium for B&M. They still have these in which I have our like vanish white
oxy powder in or whatever, because it comes with a scoop as well, which is really handy. I have
that in our utility at £7. I think that's really good. Then they've also got this little one,
which I've not seen in before. I don't think. How much is that? £4. Maybe little laundry pods or
dryer sheets. What else? This is new. I don't think I've seen this one before.
A matching laundry tote with ring handles, little laundry baskets, £6. Then I also have
these in our, like a glass jar on the side. I have a few of these dryer balls. They're £3.50 each.
I think get a couple of those and pop them in a big glass jar on the side in your utility.
See, I don't tend to go for seasonal bedding, but if you do, these are quite subtle. They've got a
little pop of like these embroidered strawberries for maybe summer. These cute little bees for
spring. They've got the stars for Christmas. Something more like this, this simple piped edge.
I thought that, I think that looks more like hotel style. I really like that. Or little hack,
these kind of, oh, I was just going to say these like crinkle effects one. You don't need to iron
them. It even says on there. It's really trying to advertise itself as a no iron because let's
face it, who has time for ironing bed sheets? I am really lazy with ironing my bed sheets,
but if you do, it does make all the difference. But with these ones, no need. That one's really
nice as well. That one's like a cream quilted set. In fact, that's gorgeous. £25. We could get that
maybe for our spare bed because I don't love the duvet cover that's in there. Yeah, that is really
nice. And it's only a double in there. So double with two pillowcases would be perfect. Oh, I am
tempted. I think before I commit to getting any bedding though, I do need to have a clear out
and sort through of like all of our bedding and just lay it all out. It's been one of those tests
that I've wanted to do for ages for the longest time and just know exactly what bedding's what,
get rid of any old and, or like with holes in or buttons have come off and start afresh and
have everything organized. Because that is one area that is definitely not organized in our
household is bedding. And I want a place to store it as well, whether that be under the spare bed or
preferably down in the storage room, like in a nice box or something. So that's on my agenda
at some point. I've just spotted this cushion that looks really nice. £10. That'd be really
nice in spring summer, you know, like on your, on our outdoor furniture, not as an outdoor cushion,
one that you would bring inside, but £10. That's really pretty. I've spied this range,
which is just on the end of an aisle, but it's loads of new scents for candles and home fragrance
that, um, a very summery feeling with this wild strawberry and the sweet cherry. I'm also looking
high on all of the aisles for all of tubs and everything like that for storage. Although I
do feel like I've got quite a lot of plastic tubs, but they have some nice wicker baskets.
I particularly like the look of this one at £8. It is, it's plastic though, and £8 is quite
affordable. And then they've also got the lighter shade, little bonsai tree. Is that a bonsai tree
or have I made that up? Here we go again. Don't need them, but these are good at £8. I think this
is a kind of new in section because I don't recognize a lot of it. It does say new on lots of
labels, but these little mini bobble bowls, £7 are really nice. Kind of reminding me of like H&M
style. These little scalloped bowls are £7 as well. These are gorgeous. If you'd like a big
dramatic re-diffuser, they have these in the kind of confetti glass in the brown and the black and
white. There is actually a scented thing in there, but even if you didn't want the cheaper scent,
just to have it for the actual diffuser itself, the glass itself, and then you can repurpose that
or like refill it with your own choice of oils, scented oils. Is that just clear? Yeah,
that's just a clear glass of £5. Wow. That's really affordable. So that is, you're just
buying it for the fact that it's a nice, big, unbranded, clear glass. I also really like their
refill matches. I have the, I have like some really nice match pots and obviously once you've
run out of your matches, you have to refill. I like these ones because they are, they're like
neutral beige on top. They do have some coloured ones as well, but I prefer just this natural kind
of colour. These are really nice as well at £4, glow, dusk and bloom, depending on the scent,
but £4. And again, it's unbranded, very simple in design. I think they're lovely for £4.
This vase is huge. If I just show you my hand as a comparison, it is a pretty big one. Probably
one that you could even have as a little floor vase. £18 for that, I think is pretty good.
This one's got like a funny, unusual shape at £10. In fact, these are gorgeous. £15,
really nice stone, rustic kind of paper mache textured vase, that one. I have quite a few
vases like that though, so I'm not going to buy one, but they've got some spring bits in,
some really pretty spring wreaths. I really like the glass jars that they do, but I've not seen
these ones before. These kind of like hammered effect ones. If you're after a bread bin,
this is a really nice design. £15, just nice and simple, kind of country farmhouse style. See,
these ones are lovely. Again, I don't think I've seen them before as well. They do say new in,
but they are like a ribbed with the wooden lid. In fact, a lot of my wooden jars in our pantry
are from B&M. So note for if I need to replace any, to come here at those at £3. These are
really good for like little nuts and seeds. This size as well, only £1.50. Again, I feel like I've
got quite a lot of jars. If I need to come back once I've had a clear out, then I know that they're
here. And then on this side, we have loads of new spring crockery. Some little cake stands down
there are beautiful. These straws are so gorgeous with the little flowers on and only £3. Not bad
at all. A little bow mug is £3.50. That is so pretty. I love that. This is gorgeous though,
for a little mini flat white cortado. I love that. And this. Wow, they've got loads of really
nice new designs. Pretty treats. The brunch club range. These plates are really pretty as well
at £3 each. What's this one? Oh, that is gorgeous. Bon Appetit. Again, that's probably part of the
brunch club. How gorgeous is that for like for Valentine's as well? So pretty. I'm actually
finding loads of new bits. And this as well, this range is new, £4 for that quiet luxury bow
set of kitchen towels. This is really nice that this is what caught my eye. A scallop edge runner.
This wouldn't fit our table, but if you have a table £1.70, £10, I think that's really pretty.
Again, another new range. This is like Japanese style range. They call it Japandi Calm. So they've
got some candles, reed diffusers, and then these large cushions as well. I have a couple of
diffusers already, so don't need any of these. Again, with the confetti glass, I think gorgeous,
£20. That is not bad at all. And so, so pretty. Just looks more like designer, I would say,
than this. I feel like these you can get quite cheap anyway, but I've never seen a cheap one
look that nice before. I've been buying a few lamps recently, so I definitely don't need any
more, but they do have some really nice designs with this black and linen one that I love.
They've also got the rechargeable ones. That one's really cute, the little
brass one. Oh, you can touch it on here as well. And then there's this one with the bow,
the standard, oh, they've not got charge in them, but the white company style ones. We have a couple
similar to this. I think we got ours from Costco though, and one of them is broken, which is kind
of annoying. See, I bought this, if you remember, I actually bought a couple of them. One of them
didn't work, so I brought it back. And the second one, I have it still and it's too long now for me
to be able to return it, but I don't like the light colour on it. So I might buy like a little
rechargeable bulb just to put inside that can be a warm white, because the colour that it comes
with is quite cold, like quite cool white. So that is one thing I would say about those
in particular, they don't have the different settings. It's just the one and it isn't my
favourite. I'm not really sure what I can do with that now. I guess I'm just going to have to either
donate it or like I said, put a lamp, like a rechargeable lamp in it. These shades are really
nice, the two-tier linen and the scalloped linen. What else? Nice mirrors. Oh, we do need a mirror,
in fact, for our downstairs bathroom. I mean, we've needed a mirror since we first did it,
which was a long time ago. But because it's downstairs in the basement, I forget about
that bathroom down there. And we definitely need a mirror for in there. I quite like this
pebble one, £24, which isn't too bad. Or they've got this black arched one at £10.
Got these square ones, the dorset mirrors. They kind of remind me of ones that you'd see in
Neptune. And to be fair, they're only £10. This one's really nice as well. I just feel like it's
a bit too small, potentially. I quite like the fact that it comes with a little shelf and we
have got wooden in that bathroom already. So that could be an option. I've taken this one for now.
I'm actually surprising myself with how many new in bits I'm finding here, but they've got this,
if you like that travertine finish again, they've got this smaller, cheaper side table at £10.
They have again, this travertine finish dining table, £95. It doesn't look like it would sit
too many people, maybe like four. I'm in the special buyer section where they have some
like kind of everyday prices, some little bargain finds. These little glass jars, the bigger ones
are £3 and these smaller ones are £2. But again, great storage for in like a pantry or utility.
These ones with the storage label on at £2. The ridged glass, although I don't like the
light wood as much, but that is £2. Even little love heart ones for Valentine's Day at £2.
Quickly just show you the bits that they have in for Valentine's Day. Lots of sweets and yeah,
loads of sweet treats. On the opposite section, they have all of the Easter chocolates. Oh,
cream eggs and dairy milk eggs. They've got this in for Valentine's, a little love cushion
at £8, little heart bath pillow, some like candles, mugs, glasses. Wow. That is
Le Creuset style, isn't it? £22, a lot cheaper than Le Creuset would be. Oh, you know, I'm
tempted for that, but it is just like, it would be seasonal just for Valentine's, wouldn't it?
Let's be real. Had it been in white, I might've been tempted, but it's not just boring. I just
feel like white could be all year round, white company style. They do love hearts and stuff,
but the fact that it's pink as well is making me think it's more suited for just Valentine's.
And then this little heart mug as well, £2.50. It's very cute. Oh, that heart cushion is a lot
nicer. That one is £8 as well. They have loads of Thorntons bits in for Easter as well. Who
remembers going to Thorntons and it being a real treat, especially in summer when they used to have
the ice cream counter? Does anyone else remember that? I remember just, oh, and also for your
birthday, they would do a plaque, like a chocolate plaque and write your name on it.
And then for Easter, they have all of their kind of Easter deco coming in as well. These are the
things that are kind of standing out to me. The three wicker eggs, £8. This jar, storage,
it's a storage jar for Easter, £5. Little display board for eight. These little honeycomb bunnies
are very cute. They are only £2.50 as well. And we've got some silicone moulds for baking,
some stickers, tissue paper, little cupcake cases if you're doing some baking, little bunting,
£3. Good for if you're doing a little Easter party or if you've got little ones
and you're wanting to decorate. They've got the little mini wicker bunnies at £4 as well.
Got some pyjamas, another wreath, some candles. Yeah, that is their Easter collection for right
now. £2.50 for this little bunny jar. You could do, like, fill it with mini eggs or something
and have it sat out. Now really is the time if you're wanting to get things to put away for
Christmas, like their sacks, where they've got the letter sacks. Like, look at this one, B for
Barney, although he's already got one, but that's reduced to £2.50. That is such a bargain. These
stockings, £1.25. So good. And they've actually got quite a few of these coloured ones. £2.50
for that was £9. I remember showing you this at Christmas as well and really liking it,
the little postbox that they do. They're in the sale, £9. I'm under a fan, so apologies if you
can't hear me, but if you are a fan of the neutral pet toys, they've got these little boots in for
£3, but they've also got these woolly mammoths with the little rope tail at £4. I thought that
was quite cute. Although after Christmas, Barney definitely does not need any new dog toys right
now. His toy basket is already over spilling right now. Lots of gorgeous new throws, throws,
rugs, I should say. I like this one. It's just plain and simple, but super fluffy and soft.
And that one's £40. They're never that big though, because even their biggest ones
are 130 by 180. And I would quite like a new rug in our, like the black room in that,
like in front of the bookcase area, but I would think at least 200 by 300 we'd need.
So I think that's going to be too small. Can only see one of these, but £4. I don't know
if they were meant to be here or someone else, but someone, somewhere else. It is one of the
special buys, gosh, I can't speak, special buys, but just a little tin utility caddy. I like the
fact that it's got the drainage holes as well. So if it was by the sink or anything then,
like with wet cloths, then it's got the drainage. They've also got these in the sale.
They're only £6. I mean, we don't have any areas that we need wall lights, but if you do,
then they're gorgeous. And it does say mains powered, but with these sort of things,
you could always just use like a little command strip or whatever to stick it to the wall and put
in there a rechargeable bulb that you can, or like battery powered bulb that you can just use a
remote with and buy off Amazon. There's never anywhere to put you in this car, but
just get the sight of my steering wheel. I have underestimated how cold it is today.
It feels, well it says 7 degrees, but I am freezing. Although I am only wearing a thin
layer and this gilet, so I probably am not dressed for 7 degrees, but we're done in B&M
and I've got an exciting, fun little DIY project that I have in mind. So hopefully by the time my
next video goes live, I will have that live on my Instagram, TikTok, I'm sure I will share it
and maybe in my next vlog as well. But I did get a few bits, so I'll show you them when I get home,
but it is now lunchtime and I have now been thinking about McDonald's and this new secret
menu that they've got. So I am thinking we can maybe do a little drive through and have some
lunch together. In fact, I'm going to put on Instagram a little question box so that by the
time we get there, if anyone's asked any questions, like New Year questions, then we can sit and
answer them together once I have my lunch. Yeah, that's what I'm doing. Thank you.
Yeah, I've gone for a chicken cheeseburger, which is interesting,
and an espresso milkshake. It's tight here. Thank you.
This drive through is so small. I was going to get the, they do like an apple pie McFlurry,
but apparently it's just you get a McFlurry and an apple pie together. And I'm like, okay,
so it's not quite an apple pie within the McFlurry. It's a DIY type thing, which I think
the espresso milkshake is as well, but I am intrigued to give that a try. Not going for any
chips or anything like that. Just a sandwich and a drink. And I've done my little Q and A box on
Instagram. So hopefully we'll have some questions to fire through. I'm going to quick fire through
them because this isn't a chatty Q and A video. Hello. Thank you. I'm okay. Thank you very much.
When you're driving and you're close to the curb, I breathe in. I'm like sucking.
Not that that's going to make a difference. I just don't like the idea of hitting the curb.
Right. Let's park up. So we've got our milkshake there. I'm going to just pour in the espresso,
although that milkshake is pretty full. So let me just have a bit first. Pour it in.
I'm thinking it'll be similar to, kind of similar to how you imagine like a
vanilla coffee frappuccino or something from Starbucks. I mean, I like the concept.
It's not very strong at all. It's nice enough. It is what it is. This is the
chicken cheeseburger. They also had a surf and turf as the other sandwich option, which was
beef, but with the fish fillet, fillet of fish, fish fillet, whichever it is.
That works. I really like that. Right. Let's have a look at if anyone's asked any questions yet.
Do you think you'll do this job forever? I mean, forever is indefinitely, but I can't see myself
ever not doing this job. That's not to say I wouldn't do something alongside it, whether that
be within property or something else. But yeah, this, this is my dream job. This is something
that I started as a hobby that I would just do as a hobby anyway. So to earn money from it,
I essentially see my job as I shop for a living and considering I've always loved shopping
and bargain hunting. It's my dream job. And it allows me to connect with people that also
have the similar interests and same kind of passions. So yeah. Do you think you'll do it
forever? I mean, not forever, forever, but I can't see myself doing it if I'm 90 years old.
Who knows? When did you first start YouTube? How did you find it? Do you have any advice?
I started it so like nine, 10 years ago. In fact, I actually started even before that when I did my
year abroad at university. And it was something that I had to do as part of my French degree,
as part of my third year abroad, we had to blog our year abroad and I decided to video blog it
on YouTube. So I kind of discovered this whole world then. I then didn't do anything. And that
was like a separate channel that was for work, well for like uni work. So I started up afresh
about eight, nine years ago, something like that. And any advice I would say,
post what you would genuinely watch yourself, then there's bound to be someone else out there
that would also watch that same content. And also I would say, be consistent with it, especially
with YouTube. I have a lot of friends in the industry that are much bigger on Instagram,
for instance, and I struggle to grow my Instagram, but they struggle to grow their YouTube. And I
always say to them, it's like about consistency and engaging with your viewers and doing it
regularly rather than just uploading once in a blue moon. So I obviously do two videos a week,
Wednesdays and Sundays. Are those days all right for you guys? I mean, I feel like that kind of is
a midweek thing and a weekend, but would you prefer Mondays and Thursdays and nothing at
the weekend? Or would you prefer, I don't know, Fridays and Sundays, like focused on the weekend?
I don't think that one would work though, because I feel like people have plans and stuff at the
weekend. Speaking of plans, people have asked holiday plans. So far this year we have booked,
upcoming we have a skiing trip booked, which I'm very excited for. We're going skiing for
a week with my family, which will be so nice to spend a full week with my family. Especially as
we didn't obviously all spend time together at Christmas with Tom being away and my brother
and his wife having their Christmas with her family this year. So it'd be nice to kind of
have this week together and yeah, very much looking forward to that. I've been talking
about wanting to ski and trip with Tom for ages. So that's booked in the diary for March.
And then we also have, what else do we have? We have a Wales staycation in April. I've also got
a wedding in April. We've got another, we're invited to two abroad weddings that happen to
be in the same week. So we can't go to them both. One was in Italy, one was in Mallorca and that's
one I think that we're going to. So that's in June sometime. Possible American trip between
March and June. When I say American trip and possible, it's possibly something that Tom might
need to do. And like I jumped on board with the New York trip last year and loved it, it might be
something that I'm open to again this year, but that would be very last minute if it was. Also,
nothing's in the diary for that. So I'm not sure if that is actually going to happen or not.
Anything towards the back end of the year? I don't think we do. I think that's everything
that we have booked in so far. Any more renovations? I have plans to switch up a
couple of things. I'd quite like to do different paint colors in certain rooms, for instance, or
I don't know, just more cosmetic stuff. We have looked at a property to do as a secondary
property and it was very much a kind of nothing's in place for that. We've just seen a couple on
Rightmove that are more coastal, that would be quite fun to renovate and document that if we
do go ahead with something like that. But that is, like I said, nothing's actually been... We've not
even been to see anything, any houses for that. We might book in a viewing or two and we could
take you along on the journey because it's not a secretive, big house move. It's more just a
project for us to do alongside our own house. It's a separate secondary type house that we
would probably Airbnb and then maybe have the option to stay there ourselves. That could be
quite fun to document that process. So let me know if you'd be interested in seeing that.
Will you get another dog? I often get asked about getting another dog. I honestly thought I would
have had a second by now. When I got Barney, my intention was to have a second by now, but
I love the lifestyle I lead with Barney. And as much as I think he'd be fine with a second dog,
I think for where we are, where we live and the lifestyle that he is involved with, like for
instance, the fact that we go golfing together. If I go and work from a cafe for the afternoon,
I take him with me. Even if I pop to John Lewis, which is dog friendly, I'll take him with me.
He goes everywhere he can with me. And I feel like if I was to get a second, I'd probably get
a second golden. And I don't think I'd be able to give him the life he has now with a second golden.
I'd be more inclined to have to like leave them at home if I need to pop out or... Do you know
what I mean? So I'm open to it, but I'm not looking for a second. I thought I would have
another one by now. That idea has now completely flipped and switched and changed. So who knows?
Will I get another dog eventually at one point? Yes, I will. But when? I have no idea.
What do you picture life to look like in five years time? Hopefully, intentions of maybe either
moving to another property or renovating another property whilst living in where we are now,
which has a bit more land and a bit more privacy. Maybe children. I can't see an
engagement happening, but who knows? I certainly wouldn't propose to Tom, but
I don't know. He's not a big... He doesn't really... He's not a marriage kind of guy,
and I'm not pushy with it either. And I know I find, I think a lot of people struggle to
believe that, but that is genuinely the truth. If we were to get married, I can't ever see myself
ever doing like a big wedding, all about me, celebratory hen do's, stag do's.
That's just not me. I would rather honestly just elope or just go do something super casual,
very intimate. Even if it was something like, maybe if we were to have a property with a bit
more land in future, get married on that property, on that land. That's more like how I would
envision a wedding if I was to get married, but it really isn't a be all or end all decision.
It might be something that we'd have to think about if we were to have kids that maybe
logistically and legally, it might be easier to be married in certain situations. I don't know,
but again, like I can't imagine me having a big wedding ever. Any other... They're kind of like
the main questions. Can you recommend somewhere for a nice girly brunch, lunch or dinner?
Loads of places in Manchester, I suppose. For brunch in Manchester, Federal's really nice.
I'm just trying to think of where I've been with my girls for brunches lately. Blanche Flower,
we really like. Gail's is just a classic, like more of a cafe pit stop. I feel like there's
just loads of places in Manchester. Moose is really good for like, if you like pancakes,
American style. Breakfast, a really nice patisserie near us is called La Chiquette
in Didsbury. They do have another one, I believe, but the one we go to is in Didsbury.
And there's actually a really cute cafe next door, which we've been to a couple of times for brunch,
Tom and I. Dinner, I'm trying to think of places that I've been and enjoyed. Kitten in town.
Sebo, there's a couple of those local to us. There's quite nice places in sort of orderly edge,
Wilmslow, Hale, without the need to go into Manchester. And also there's constantly new
places popping up here and there and everywhere. But anyway, I've been chatting for quite a while
now. So I feel like I'm going to end this section here and head home. Oh my gosh,
that has just got a lot stronger. It must have just not fully, okay, a double wouldn't be needed
because that was just a strong shot of coffee in that mouthful. I guess I just hadn't mixed
it in properly. But anyway, my voice went funny then. Let's get home and I'll show you the bits
I've got from B&M. Oh, it's nice and cosy in this house. Right, we are obviously as you can tell
back home. Oh, I've just remembered I've got a call in just over an hour. So right, let me whiz
through these bits then I got from B&M. I decided to go for the mirror in white, which I showed you
and said about it being similar to a Neptune one, given the thick frame and the kind of country
feel. I'll try and insert an image on the screen here of the one that I'm talking about from
Neptune. I think they're all rectangular, but they have white, they have a dark colour. They
also have circular shaped mirrors, all with this thick chunky frame. They have some oak ones,
which are really nice. £10. I thought, let's at least get the vibe in the bathroom and see
whether or not this one will fit. If it doesn't, I can send it back. I'll take you down now before
I show you the rest of these bits and show you exactly where I'm talking about in terms of the
bathroom down in the basement. In fact, even along here, you know, could do with some artwork
or even a mirror. See, this space is so neglected and it's definitely a space I could
play around with a little bit more. I've got the bedroom in there, the bathroom in here,
and then this kind of hallway area, which we always had intentions to maybe build some kind
of storage in here and have it as like wine storage. Now, there is a plug, so we could make
it refrigerated, but we're not big wine drinkers and I feel like it's kind of a feature that would
look really cool, but it would also be very expensive to do. Given that we probably wouldn't
even benefit from it, I would hate to do that and it be a waste, so I don't know if we will end up
doing that. I'm not sure, but let me just have a quick look at what that would look like. Some kind
of artwork or big mirror, maybe even a slightly bigger one. It needs to be bigger, I think.
Now we're in here, I'm thinking the mirror that I've picked might be too small. It could work
because we could have the little mirror there, which is ideal for just sort of cleaning your teeth.
That's all you really need is just a little mirror for that. Then over that side, we could
even have some artwork because I do quite like having artwork in the bathroom, even if it's just
a print or we've got an artwork in our downstairs loo, I really like having that. Actually, yeah,
I think I like that. I think that's going to stay. Okay, perfect. I will leave this down here for now
so that that can get put up at some point. This is the Zara home storage that I was saying. We've
got wooden storage in this bathroom with a little wicker toilet roll holder. We've got brass hardware,
but we do also have black details in here with the shower. In fact, do you know, that's one thing I
probably regret with this bathroom is either we should have just gone all black rather than the
gold hardware. I think all black would have looked better or chrome. When we moved in, that's
a kind of renovation regret. When we moved into this house initially, the one thing I didn't want
was chrome and now I wish we'd done chrome everywhere. Apart from I like antique brass,
but it's the brushed brass that I'm not as much of a fan of and wish that we'd done
the chrome. Because in here there's chrome hardware and I quite like it. I do like our
antique brass in our kitchen. Yeah, this is our utility room and these are just a couple of
products I've brought down here that I needed to stock up on. Oh, I got sent these as well
from Vac Freshner. They've sent Spring Meadow, which sounds lovely and look, obviously I'm in
love with this because golden on the front, and lavender. I think you just put these, yeah,
the vac disc, you put it in the hoover. I just left them down here for now. Next time I hoover,
I'll try those in. Yeah, we've gone for chrome in here and I really like it. I do really like
the chrome. That is a little regret that I have, but not to worry. These things,
they just are what they are, but there's no point replacing them. It's barely even been used down
there, so could sell them, I suppose. Anyway, speaking of chrome, look at these for gift wrap.
How fun would it be to do, obviously I've got Tom's birthday in March coming up, but also
Valentine's would be quite nice. Although we don't really do gifts for Valentine's, Tom will get me
flowers and that's it. We'd maybe either just go for a little date night or, I don't know,
it's one of those things, isn't it, Valentine's, that when you've been together 10 years,
what do you buy for someone for a little Valentine's gift? When my birthday is in January,
his is in March. We've just had Christmas, so we tend to do an experience. I have booked us
to go to see Hans Zimmer in concert type thing. They're touring, but it's at Manchester Co-op,
but it's not until October. Anyway, yeah, this gift wrap will go in my gift wrap storage box.
I loved it. I just think how nice would it be to come down here in the morning on Tom's birthday
and all his presents are wrapped in chrome wrapping. I just think that could look really
smart. Anyway, they were two pound a roll. They had loads of different colors as well.
I'm going to pull up a few for this. We've also got some cleaning bits and barbs. I needed some
new dishwasher tablets and this is the Mrs. Hinch Alpine Escape scent. Also, I've seen loads of
Flora have now brought out toilet bleach and they've got one in a pine and sandalwood. I think
that'll be similar to the Harpic pine maybe. We'll try them anyway. I just tend to leave
a bleach in each toilet so that as and when I bleach them, there's already a bleach in there.
Then also the new seasonal scent of Sephora, the White Daisy and Jasmine. I thought we could get
to try a fresh floral blend of White Daisies and Jasmine with top notes of citrus. I don't tend to
go for florally scents but that is nice actually. I think of the floral scents, do you know what I
think I've discovered? It's not that I'm anti-floral, it's specifically rose that I don't
particularly like because when they've had rose kind of scented products before, it's that that
I think that I don't like. It's a similar thing isn't it with people not liking lavender. People
find lavender too mature. I like lavender as a nice calming scent but I feel like that more with
rose scented products so maybe I do like floral. But anyway, White Daisy and Jasmine. I still
prefer citrusy and fruity but it has a bit of that in there. I've got some Vermouche hair
dissolver and I always tend to just when I'm buying one of those, just stock up on two boxes.
You only get three sachets in each one. And then I did go for a sack. I went for the B
because I did love it. It comes with a big bow as well and I obviously, as you know at Christmas,
I have injected for the past couple of years pops of burgundies and deep reds and I do love it. It
makes the house feel so festive and the sacks that we've got are also from B&M in the neutral
shades. And I do like them but I feel like I love this one. And the fact that they had a tea,
I was like, oh do I get a tea as well? But then there isn't one for me and I just thought I'd
rather Tom and I at least get a matching when Barney can have his own little sack. So I am going
to replace his old sack with this one. It was £2.50 and I much prefer it to the one he's already
got. And then I just showed you a tea straw shampoo that I got and my Garnier mistletoe water.
And then I only found one of these storage boxes for our fridge. I've had a couple of
smaller ones in the past and they've got a bit misshapen because I've put them in the
dishwasher, which I know clearly now, I know you shouldn't do. So I decided to bin those
and I thought I would replace it with a large tub on the top. So things like with this,
I'll put in like loose fruit and veg, any loose fruit and veg. We do have a drawer for that,
but anything loose extra on top of that or sauces and condiments or our little ginger shots.
Sometimes I'll fill a tray like that with those. So I do quite like to have sections within the
fridge. So I got that for that, but there was only one left at three pounds. And then I also
got a stock of a pack of lint rollers. I really liked this one because it comes with a natural
bamboo wood handle and also two spares. This is going to go in, I've got one in my car already.
I need one in my wardrobe room upstairs and that's everything. So not the biggest of B&M
hauls obviously, but we had a good couple of hours in there this morning and I felt like it was
needed. Good browse around B&M is always a good day. But anyway, I'm going to close off today's
video here because I want to get started with the organizing of the pantry, get cracking with that,
excited to get going with that. So that will probably be in my next video. As always,
if you enjoyed today's video, I'd love a thumbs up. And if you haven't already subscribed to my
channel, join the community, subscribe and follow along. And yeah, it would mean the world if you
could do so. I know half of you aren't actually subscribed, more than half actually. So it would
really help boost my channel if you were able to do that. And yeah, have a lovely rest of your day.
Thank you so much for watching and I hope to see you all very soon in my next video. Bye guys.
