I Built a Bowling Alley In My Backyard!

Today I'm transforming my cameraman's backyard into a bowling alley. That's right, we're turning Matt's backyard into a real bowling alley with real lanes and real oil and we're gonna bring some of the most insane challenges we've ever done. Let's get to it. About to move some panels. We're about to go get some land. It's a good thing we're beefy like that. Oh my god. You got this? No. She fits. Barely. She's not going anywhere. All right, bye Peck. I thought we were gonna be light. There's some slick. There's some slippery buggers in there. Trying to make the lanes a little more stable underneath instead of just putting them on the grass. Trying to level them out a little bit. We're adding a bunch of 2x4s to the bottom of the lanes. I just picture myself like hitting you in the head with this. Clock. And Peck is out for the week. I know you guys can't see but Matt holding the camera is the one who's telling us what to get. He's actually picking it and we're just holding it. He's picking it and then we're telling you that this is what we're getting. I'm just a dad that likes Home Depot. We're gonna build a mini lane proof of concept before we actually go full lane. So this one's gonna be about maybe 15-20 feet and we're gonna bowl a couple shots. It's gonna be the first of many challenges. It's getting hot. Look at that. It's close enough. I'm gonna clean this puppy up a little bit. A little dirt from the back of the U-Haul truck doesn't help a lane. All right so we're doing a little short lane challenge. Kind of just a little proof of concept. 15-20 feet. First one to strike wins. Winner gets to use Matt's miter saw to start chopping up some wood for the lanes. What did that guy say in the comments? That Mitch is my daddy. Yeah he did. You are no longer allowed to call me daddy. How much speed do we get? As much speed as you want just don't put it through Matt's fence. As easy as that. Hey did you notice which side the headband hit? Yeah the left side. Mitch is the Brooklyn king. So do you want to try or no? What if we tie? Does Matt use the miter saw? I gotta go two-handed right? No! Fast eight that's tough. Oh no no no! You could say there's a little topography issue on the lane right now. Let's go! One down. This mini lane is awesome but we gotta get back to work and build this full thing. Let's cut some wood boys. I have the power. Hell yeah. It's 103 degrees. We just wrapped up construction. We got a 72 foot bowling lane which is 60 feet plus 12 feet of approach. This is easily going to be the best backyard bowling lane ever made because it is literally bowling lanes. We just gotta fix the leveling on this thing. Right now they're a little lefty friendly I'd say. That's fine with me. We're gonna have to fix that. Oh wow. We just put some shims in. We just put a foul line on. Built a little backstop behind the lanes. And now we got a little no oil challenge with Brent and Mitch. What do you think about our lane? I think you could have done better. You could have filled in those dowels and whatnot. It'll be good enough for me to spank pack on. First challenge that we got here on the full lane is no oil high pinfall for two shots. Gets to hand oil the lanes. Whoa okay half. You got a fan down there? Five. Disappointed. I didn't do a very good job. I'm a finisher not a starter. Yes! Hit one. Yes sir! That gives me a really decent chance. I think I'm gonna go with the eight pounder and just fire it down the middle I think. A special eight pounder. Yeah how many people would buy these? Because I need to know because we're ordering a lot of them so. Oh no. That's okay. Oh. I'll take six. Problem is I hit the head pin and it bounced off because that was the five pound pins with the eight pound ball deflection. Oh we get we get a chance? No. That's enough. Six on that? Locked it in. I didn't hit the one two or the three pin. And I got more than Mitch guaranteed. I hit some pins finally. Pretty quick. Oh wow. Wow that's really good. That is good. Man plastic was the way. We're gonna find a spray bottle and get some oil on these lanes. Brent brought us some actual lane oil which today we are featuring Kegel Prodigy. Get your buddy in. Come on. We got flare rings boys. Let's go. Time to shoe up. We got real oil on a real set of lanes in our also real backyard. Now we're gonna do an elimination style lowest frame score drop. So a strike is best a spare is second best. And then if you don't get either of those high pin count. Got a little settee area back here. Where's missing the fan? I'm calling my agent. It's too hot. We're gonna try and throw these as normal as possible. There's some oil in the middle. We're good to go. Oh that's Brooklyn. How did that hold? Terrible because he squirted a lot of oil there. That was a really bad shot. Stuck a little on the approach. Yeah I figured if I just throw this and hit the left side of the five pin. It might ricochet into this. You can make it on both sides yeah. You stink. Pin count eight that's not good. I mean you've seen my shots. I'll take my shoes off now. Oh not bad. Not bad actually. Better than some approaches I bowled at in actual bowling alleys. We're still in play. I gotta move left. First spare. They don't call me the best spare shooter on tour for nothing. Said I know all of you guys out there hate on the string pin setter. But this is a time to have it. If we could just be in the back pull a string this would be much easier. You've got your spare with something. It was something. I'll go first now. All right. Because I got to make an adjustment off that. Oh no. There's no way this doesn't get zero. This is great for me. It rolled out. You hit the board you're aiming for. If only every board was a two by four. Shucks. There's a guy who told me if you can do with the pencil. You can do with the ball. Needs a spare or strike to win. Oh god. I don't know how that happened. I thought something broke underneath me. Some things never change. That is a tough spare. Oh the Brooklyn super bucket. Come on child. Oh no. He started too far right. I thought there's more oil out there. Brent wins again. These are two neighbors of Matt's that actually watch the channel. Chase and Reed. They saw us bowling and they wanted to join in. So they're going to challenge us two v two. Those two versus Mitch and myself. One shot a person. High pen count. Rock paper scissors shoot. Crushed them. Well they want us to go first. So I think they go first. Ah that's pretty good. Why is that so good? Oh my god. Seven's a lot. I'm just I'm just letting you know right now. Seven is a bunch. I think we underestimated these kids. Okay we got a one pin lead. We're up by one. A one pin lead. No pressure. You need to get some pins. Oh peel. Ooh. How did they both hit the pocket? I don't know. We've been trying for like two hours. I'll offer you an opportunity. If you make the split. I'll let you keep one of these bowling balls. And I'll let your first shot count as 10 instead of seven. Okay. Whoa whoa let's just give them the ball. Switch of styles. Oh my god. Let's go. All right which ball are you taking? Why can't we just give them the ball not the pins? That one's the newest and the nicest of the bunch. I would take that one. Congrats on your new ball. Also that was sick. We still have a chance. So even though you guys actually won. We still have a chance to win the challenge. That was crazy. I gave you a primo rack out there. Strike to claim it. Boys congrats. Sick bowling. Congrats on your new ball. Highlight of the year so far on the channel. We're gonna try and soup it up a little bit more. Maybe uh actually keep the ball. Let's see if we can shoot 300 baker style on our backyard bowling lane. Bang. That's good. What if I change balls? Feel this. Grab the ball. It's hot on this side and it's normal on this side. Yeah it is. Yes. I'm using that ball. That was actually a good shot. Spare out the gate. That one shaped up and would have hit the pocket. This is in Matt's backyard. That was almost a split and the ball almost slipped out of my hands right there. Push. Wow what a time to be alive. Let's go. We're clean. Push. All right fast eight, fast eight. We're getting closer to the headfin but man it's tough to keep it on the pocket. Two. Very nice. Spare machines. Six frames in we're clean and it is a legitimate miracle. I need to throw this one harder. That's good. Okay we can deal with that. All right all right. Still clean, still clean. We've been crushing the mate spares. Spares are where it's at. Oh my. I can make this. Same shot, plastic ball. Chance. The goal here is back four for between 190 and 200. Oh that's so bad. Four is good. Using the eight pounder for the spare. Get a little extra deflection. Oh. Why do the plastic balls hook so much? First shot of the time. We need a strike. We got a strike. The messenger nine. Messenger. Let's go. This is for a big like 170 game here so. That was huge. I hope we can shoot 170. That would be massive. I hope you take this seriously. Yeah I gotta throw it a little up in the air. Gotta be fast. Push. Let's go. Packing from the parking lot. All right we're in the 170s I think. We're in the 170s as long as you get pens here. All right 170 ish. Not bad for the first official game on our backyard lanes. You guys thought we flooded the lanes earlier. Now we're actually going to flood the lanes with the hose. Is that the only spot you're putting it on? There's a puddle on 15. There we go. High pin count? High pin count. My ball is kind of dirty so this helps. Oh not. Oh my goodness. Oh my. How did you shove in 10? Not bad though. It's fun. It's a nice little splash pad. I think I'm still going to try and go off the lane and cross and curl it. About to shoot your ball the whole way down. It's hard. The ball goes down there pretty quick. Hook. Oh my. No. Seven. All right. It doesn't hook as much. There's a puddle in the middle.
