Casa Roca is a contemporary mountain retreat located in Yosemite Lakes, designed to embrace the breathtaking views and natural beauty of the surrounding national park. The house is thoughtfully oriented to maximize visual transparency, allowing residents to remain constantly connected to nature through carefully placed openings that bring in abundant natural light and frame the landscape.

At the heart of the home, a central outdoor space offers a peaceful setting to experience the tranquility of the mountains. The roof’s slope mirrors the natural incline of the surrounding terrain, reinforcing the home’s harmony with its environment.

Material choices play a key role in blending the architecture with nature. Dark-toned exterior wood helps the house merge seamlessly with the landscape, while warm interior finishes create a cozy atmosphere. Stone and concrete are left exposed, and natural floors remain untreated, strengthening the connection to the site. Three large existing rocks are preserved within the design, enhancing the sense of continuity with the rocky surroundings.
