Once there was a beautiful dog in a small town. The dog was gentle, intelligent, and very sensible.
But his misfortune was that he was alone. He had no home and no family.
Every day he wandered through the streets in search of food. No one had ever adopted him.
One day, while wandering, he reached in front of a house. A two-year-old boy was playing there.
Seeing the dog, the little boy happily offered him a piece of biscuit with his small hands.
The dog ate it gratefully, wagging his tail. From that day, the dog began sitting in front
of the house. He would not leave the child even for a moment. Whenever the boy came outside,
the dog would play with him and quietly guard him. The boy shared food with the dog every day.
Seeing this bond, the parents also started feeding the dog and allowed him to stay near the child.
Months passed like this. The lonely dog had finally found love.
One day, the family planned a short trip to a forest area to celebrate their son's birthday.
They booked a cottage near the forest. The dog followed them even there too,
staying close to the child. The birthday was celebrated happily and everyone enjoyed
the time together. The next day, the adults decided to go into the forest for a few hours.
They left the child in the care of a babysitter inside the cottage. The dog stayed there as well.
After some time, the parents returned early. As they went inside, they found the main door open.
The hall was empty and there was no sign of the child or the babysitter. Panic took over their
mind. They shouted the child's name but there was no answer. Just then, they saw the dog coming out
of the room. His mouth was covered in blood. Seeing the blood on the dog's mouth, the parents
were shocked. Fear gripped their hearts and their minds stopped thinking clearly.
In that moment, they assumed the worst. They believed that the dog had killed their child
and eaten him. Anger and fear blinded their judgment. The father saw a thick stick
lying beside the door. Without thinking or knowing the truth, he picked it up and rushed
toward the dog. Enraged, he started beating the dog. One hard blow struck the dog on the head
and the dog cried once and collapsed. He laid there unconscious and motionless.
Just then, the babysitter came running out from another room, holding the child in her arms.
The child was safe and unharmed. Everyone froze. Through tears, the babysitter explained
what had happened. A wolf had entered the cottage while they were gone. It tried to attack the child.
The dog sighed and stood between the wolf and the child. He fought the wolf fiercely to protect the
boy. After a fierce fight, the dog managed to drive the wolf away. Wounded and frightened,
the wolf finally ran away from the house. The blood on the dog's mouth was not child's.
It was the result of the fierce fight with the wolf. The room fell silent.
Slowly, the parents turned toward the dog lying on the ground. They rushed to him,
but it was too late. The dog had already died. The father dropped the stick. The mother broke
down in tears. Guilt crushed their hearts. They had acted in anger. They had judged
without knowing the truth. The dog, who had saved their child, had lost his life
because of their reaction. The story teaches us three important lessons.
The first lesson is that anger makes us blind and weakens our ability to understand what is right
or wrong. The second lesson is that we should never react without knowing the whole truth
because such actions often lead to lifelong regrets.
And the third lesson is that the world is often unfair. Do not expect anything from anyone.
Expectations only hurt you. Do what feels right to your conscience.
And once you have done your part, walk away in silence.
