With the Roundhouse Rumble over, it's time to catch up on long neglected projects, return scaffoldings, use the tractor to move some dirt, and prep for a brand new animal on the homestead.
Good morning. It's the week after the rumble has ended. We had the weekend to like slowly
decompress and figure out our next steps. Well we're still figuring out our next steps but
today everybody's here because it's Tuesday and nobody's working today so
here's what we've got to do. We have a whole list of things that we need to do.
We have equipment that we need to get back to neighbors. The scaffolding, the tractor,
the boom lift got picked up yesterday so that's no longer here. We just have a lot of things that
we need to get done in order to return things back to their owners. So first up we need to
move some AB mix. We also need to move a bunch of sand over to the goat barn and some other things
but we'll get into that as we go. So come along. It's going to be a fun productive morning.
So we've actually started moving some AB mix over here in our courtyard. We need to put more over
here so that we can level this ground and then we're going to borrow a pneumatic tamper and get
this all leveled out so that we don't have to worry about that anymore for now. While we have
the tractor let's go ahead and get a couple more loads over here and then it'll just be ready to
go. We don't have to worry about it. And then we need to get that AB mix over to the back gate
because Trona keeps escaping and we think that's how she's getting out. So we'll see if that fixes it.
It's something about the curves on all these walls. When I'm not right next to the tractor
it looks like she's going to run into the walls every time and it freaks me out.
So I'm watching very closely but I want her to have that independence to like
know that she can do this because she can. It's just a tricky balance of like
not being overbearing letting her do her thing and learn as she goes but also
just watching out make sure no one runs into the house.
Since moving here five and a half years ago animals have always been in the picture. We've
and there may even be a new animal coming soon. Having so many animals out on the homestead and
living so far away from town makes vet visits nearly impossible. So I'm so excited to tell
you about today's video sponsor Dutch. Dutch is a telemedicine service just for your pets.
Their vets can treat up to 90% of health issues and save the average pet owner $650 a year. This
membership allows you to get unlimited vet visits and follow-ups with a licensed vet and no clinic
fee and no visit fee. You can have up to five pets on your membership and you have access to a licensed
vet 24-7 from wherever you are whenever you need it. We actually recently had to use this service
for Ocho with a red and swollen eye and it couldn't have been more simple. We just set up our
appointment and we logged on and we were able to do it from the comfort of our own home. Dutch even
has their own pharmacy so you can save up to 20% on your prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines.

What a beautiful world, what a beautiful world
That I'm living in, that I'm living in
What a beautiful world, what a beautiful world
That I'm living in, being with you
We've got forever, so who needs time
Every moment with you feels so sublime
And if I could, I wouldn't change a thing
Being here with you, yeah it feels like a dream
What a beautiful world, what a beautiful world
That I'm living in, that I'm living in
Double wheel, wheelbarrow, baby
What a beautiful world, that I'm living in
Well this was not my idea, this was Adelaide's idea. We had a bunch of sand left over from our
bench project that we're not gonna be able to finish yet so Adelaide's like why don't we just
put it in the goat barn and then like in the goat paddock and maybe this would help her clean the
poop easier, make it tidier, I don't know. Why did you want the sand in here anyway?
I think it would be more sanitary. Less dusty I guess. Less dust, easier to clean and I think
it'll help with flooding. Okay we'll see and we always have we have extra so if we want to do it
to the other paddock we can. Do you want to do that today or no? I think I want to see what they do
in here first. Okay see how the cats treat it, how Trona treats it. It's gonna be this will probably
be the last day with the tractor. This wheelbarrow is gonna take a long time. We have other tractor
work to do. Yeah, do you want me to fix the driveway? Maybe yeah let's go. Baby mix? Let's look at it
When we come in there's a slight dip here and every single time it rains we have to drive through
it and it gets deeper and deeper every year. I would say it's not a slight ditch anymore.
It's pretty deep and that holds water for quite a while so we have all that extra AB mix right now
so I'm thinking they should move some of where it's not going to be enough but hopefully it
could just make it less deep. Yep. Do you want to, do you want me to do that? Do it. I'll film it and I'll
break it. You haven't used a tractor very much. Do you want to do it? No not at this point. Okay
I was glad that you said that because I wanted to do it.
All right it is finally time. It's time to take apart the scaffolding and return it to our
neighbors who let us borrow it for this roundhouse rumble. It's pretty sad. I think I've been really
kind of sad for the last week ever since when the walls are done. It's like you have all this
adrenaline and you're getting it done and it's really exciting and then it stops and everybody
leaves and you don't know what to do and we're just kind of in this awkward stage of like what
we do next and if we can do the next part. Anyway it's just really kind of sad but anyway we're
going to go ahead and take apart the scaffolding and get it ready to take back to the neighbors
who so graciously let us borrow it. So thank you Jim and Pam. We really appreciate it. We're also
taking their tractor back. Sad day. Now that we have the truck loaded the next step is we are taking
two of the scaffolding back to Steve because he let us borrow them for the month and he needs to
put up Christmas lights so we're getting those back to him as soon as we can. First I need to go
fill up his diesel can and I've already filled up the tractor so should be good there. One thing I
forgot to do. The boom lift got picked up the other day and I forgot to top off the diesel tank so we
got charged an extra $70. Oh it made me so mad because first of all it was a fortune to rent
the thing. I know it wasn't $70 worth of diesel that needed to be put in there so it just made me
a little angry but it's okay whatever. It's my fault. I should have checked it but tractor's filled
up. I'm gonna fill up Steve's diesel can get all that back to him so let's just get it all done.
Next up we're out here at the barn because we have an addition that we need to put on
next to the goat area so I'm gonna clear this a little bit of grass, trim up a couple little
sapling trees that are very tiny but in the way and then we can add on. I'm excited to show you
what it is but um it was a little uh last minute if you will. That's kind of how we roll but that's
okay. Everything's gonna be great. I'm very excited about it. We just need to clean it up and get it
ready. All right so we're up in Phoenix. No where are we? Tucson. We're in Tucson and we're taking
apart some panels to uh you know set up at our place.
