Inside “The Sanctum”: A Radical Modern Home Built Around a Circle

Designed by Renesa Architecture in Amritsar, The Sanctum is a contemporary Indian residence organized around a powerful circular courtyard. Rather than pursuing ornament or spectacle, the house explores geometry, material honesty, and emotional atmosphere. Brick walls and exposed concrete slabs create a sense of quiet monumentality, while water, light, and shadow animate the central void. The spatial sequence moves from communal to private zones, shaping an inward-looking home focused on reflection, balance, and lived experience—redefining luxury through restraint, clarity, and timeless design.
