Centered Home, designed by HYCArch and aanda, is a modern Los Angeles residence that merges minimalism with functionality. Its charred shou sugi ban exterior and San Pedro cacti offer a striking contrast to the lush surroundings, setting a serene yet bold tone. The home is organized concentrically, with a central "cube" dedicated to private activities like meditation and sleep, surrounded by communal spaces for social gatherings and creativity, all framed by the outer landscape. Interiors blend custom textures and playful details, like hidden storage solutions and uniquely designed skylights that fill the space with natural light. The design emphasizes balance between solitude and communal living, with warm, thoughtfully crafted spaces that respond to both the family’s daily needs and the natural environment.
