These soft, airy yeast rolls with jam filling are the epitome of homemade comfort food. The delicate dough, refined with lemon zest, fresh yeast and warm milk, rises beautifully and becomes golden brown and fluffy when baked.
Filled with your favorite jam – here aromatic cherry jam – the rolls impress with a perfect balance of delicate sweetness and buttery taste. Still warm from the oven, dusted with powdered sugar, they smell like a cozy morning and go perfectly with a cup of tea or coffee.
The recipe is simple, foolproof, and also ideally suited for baking beginners. Whether for breakfast, afternoon coffee or as a sweet treat for family and friends – these jam rolls are guaranteed to bring a smile to everyone's face.
Recipe:
500-550 g wheat flour (4 cups).
3 tablespoons of sugar (3 tablespoons).
20 g fresh yeast (1 oz).
200 ml warm milk (1 cup).
70 g butter (2 1/2 oz).
2 eggs.
5-6 g salt (1/2 teaspoon).
Lemon peel.
For the filling:
cherry jam
For garnish:
icing sugar.
Knead the dough and let it rest for 60 minutes.
Shape the rolls as shown in the video. Brush with the egg-milk mixture.
Bake at 180 °C (356 °F) for 25–30 minutes.
