The Murray and the Darling Rivers meet at a town called Wentworth in NSW state in Australia. In Pioneer days these rivers came alive with Paddleboats that shipped people and cargo up and down the rivers.
Produce was delivered to townships all along the river and people travelled in style watching the amazing scenary of Eucalyptus trees pass them by. I remember hearing on a tv show All the Rivers Run that steering a paddleboat is harder than steering a ship on the sea as many times you can’t see the next bend coming up to the boat.
Also at this place where the two rivers meet, this was once where cattle crossed that were headed for market or were sold to S.A and W.A farms.
Today recreation boats cruise people up and down the river in many places. Paddleboats still operate but only as tourist attractions and for dining and events. Many boating sports with races are held on the Murray River.
Many people camp by these rivers in the holiday seasons. Today it was hot but the cool breeze from the river and shade from the Eucalyptus trees make this area comfortable to be on a hot🥵day.
