Tickle a Kookaburra
This Kookaburra that visits us, I call Jacky. I think it is female but as it’s only young, I’m not sure. You can tell a bird if it i It is male or female by the marks on their feathers.
Jacky is not afraid and looking for food as the weather is getting cooler. The small snakes and lizards are less. I only give them a small amount of food, so the Kookaburras keeps on looking for food.
Jacky the Kookaburra will let you give it a pat but only if you have food. As I didn’t have food it only got a tickle.
I have found the Kookaburras like people company and it’s not only about the food. It’s about friendship and being kind.
It is good to place fresh water in birdbaths for birds in your garden. The birds are attracted to a garden that has water available the most.
