Memphis has spent years struggling with one of the highest violent crime rates in the nation, but leaders say a federal surge launched two months ago is producing dramatic results.
Attorney General Pam Bondi says crime in the city has plummeted since President Donald Trump ordered federal agencies to assist local law enforcement.
Bondi said the new Memphis Safe Task Force—made up of more than 30 federal, state, and local agencies—is achieving results that would have been unthinkable just months ago.
