My Most Complimented Fragrances You Should Try

So, the first fragrance on this list is probably one of the most hype fragrances in the last year and, no, it's not Eros EDT, nor is it the EDP or the Parfum for that matter. Now, the fragrance I'm talking about is the new Eros Energy. Now, in a hundred years, I'm sure historians will continue to debate whether or not this fragrance was overblown, but all I know is that I enjoyed it especially that crisp clean citrus opening. I mean, seriously, just look at all the notes right there in the opening. I can't say you can smell them all, but this thing smells good. And as a result, I think a lot of people overspray this, probably me included. And that dry down really comes into full force with the musk, oak moss, and patchouli, and the sweetness in the middle with the black currant and white amber. I don't know, maybe people are just being nice or maybe I am overspraying, which I probably am with this one. But, every time I wear this, I get a compliment. So, I think you will too. And I know it's a bit cooler, but because we're on the house of Versace, I'm going to go ahead and throw in Manifresh. This is great during the summer, not during the winter. But, this one, again, projects, it's got strength to it and it will get you compliments. It's got me many. Next up, we have Jean Paul Gaultier. Now, the Fragrance King Jeremy fragrance I know has turned a lot of people on to Ultramal. And for good reason, this is a fragrance that I've seen women say, you know what? I'm going to give that guy a second look. This turns heads. It's powerful, it projects, but it's becoming a little bit harder to find. Fortunately, the elixir is not. This one is all over the place and I have to say that I like it even better than Ultramal. Notice that people – people like sweet things. This one right here came out a couple years ago and I think it's one of the most beautifully blended in the entire line. And, of course, it leads with that strong vanilla accord, but it also has a honey note, which is really unique and I think really just balances out this beautiful fragrance. Now, if you want a designer fragrance that's a little bit lighter, although not lighter on the budget, it's relatively expensive. It's the new Gucci Guilty Elixir Eau de Parfum. This one came out I believe in 2023. It kind of – I kind of slept on it until I got my nose on it and I realized, wow, this thing first up, it's got strong projection. And the orange blossom, it's a really nice floral. It doesn't smell floral. It is just mixed really well. It's got a top honey note as well that you can pick up. It's powdery, so that's what makes it feel lighter and work well for the summer. Still, it's got a vanilla note. And like I said, guys, this thing is a projection and longevity beast. Oh, and did I mention? It's going to get your freaking compliments. This one, yeah, is a compliment monster. Now, this next fragrance I think is going to surprise some of you guys and that is Mugle's Not A Man or Malt or Havan, which are all great fragrances. And if you ever get your nose on one of these, what we're talking about here are gourmands. It's going to be the chocolate note or the malt note. We've got Havan, which is also kind of got a whole cigar kind of thing going with it. But, Mugle was one of those houses that really got into the idea that you could smell like food and it would actually work out really well. We're not talking, you know, like Thanksgiving dinner here, although maybe dessert, cranberry. I don't think they have a cranberry. But, they do have Crypto Mint, a mint chocolate chip cookie. And I never would have guessed that I would get so many compliments. And it mostly started with my daughters and I kept wearing it. And then, all of a sudden, I'd go to ballet and I had all these women that are moms of other, you know, like, wow, you smell really good. Chocolate chip cookies with a bit of mint, who would have known that this combination would get me so many compliments. Next up, let's talk about Stronger With You. And I realized I've actually got Stronger With You absolutely not the original. So, grab the original Stronger With You if you didn't. I stayed away from this line for a long time. I just hated the name. But then, I got the original, I'm like, wow, this stuff is really good and it's pleasantly affordable. Then, I grabbed Intensely. It's even better than the original. A little bit harder to find and you might as well just grab the original, spray a little bit more on. All the other flankers you're going to see out there, the Oud, the – I mean, they've just got all different leather. Grab the original and then go try the other ones. I find that the original is still the best. Absolutely, yes. Had a little bit more of a nut note in it, but it's hard to find. So, it's not worth paying extra, just grab the original. Next up, we've got Paco Rabanne's Invictus. Not just any Invictus, I got the brand new Parfum. And let me be clear here. I've got all the others, they're decent. Aqua is really good, but it's discontinued, so I'm not going to recommend it. But, in general, Paco Rabanne especially their Invictus line always seemed a bit synthetic, so I didn't recommend it much when there's so many other smoother fragrances out there. Well, I'm not going to say the new Parfum smells all natural, but I will say it's blended well. It's one of the best flankers in the line and I have most of them. And for some reason, this one is a compliment monster. Man, the Accordé, the aromatic musk with a bit of marine soap and powder, it just works. This new Invictus Parfum is absolutely beautiful. It's smooth and when I was wearing this the other day, my wife couldn't keep her hands off me. She's like, well, I don't know what you're wearing, but this is one of the best fragrances I've ever smelt on you. What I like about this one, it's affordable, it's new, you can find it. It's definitely going to get you compliments like it did with me and it's going to draw in the ladies. A really easy win and it doesn't matter if you're a teenager, if you are in your 70s, I think you can pull this fragrance off. Now, the next fragrance on this list is just as well-known. It's been out since 2010, but surprisingly doesn't have nearly as many flankers. Now, there are a couple to me straight up. They're both awesome. Right here, I've got the Absolute. It's a darker, richer, sweeter, heavier version of the original. And then, there's the Clone and as the name implies, a lighter, fresher version of the original. But, when it comes to compliments, in my experience, nothing beats the OG, I'm talking about Creed Aventus. Now, the Accords here, this is a fruity, sweet, woodsy, leathery, smoky citrus fragrance with a bit of musk. And since it's released well over a decade ago, this fragrance has been the king for so many guys. That holy sh** fragrance that has something magical about it. And personally, I don't know if it's the smell or just simply the way that you walk more confidently when you're wearing this fragrance. But, over the years, it seems like every time I'm wearing this when I travel, I get a compliment on how I smell great. The fragrance that has garnered me the most compliments over my entire life would have to be Stetson. Now, okay, I'm joking, but I'm not because I wore this fragrance when I was probably 12 years old mid-high school and I'd have to say I probably got more compliments from this than any fragrance here. Now, family, friends, other people at school and maybe people just being nice to me, does that count? Well, why not? It made me feel good and it got me into fragrances. But, no, the fragrance I'm going to be bringing in here is 1,000,000 Preve, which a lot – it's going to surprise and it's like, 1,000,000? Yes. 1,000,000 in general, I'd have to say these fragrances get me compliments. And I think a lot of guys steer away from them, especially older guys because, oh, they're way too sweet, there's too much going on there. And Lucky really isn't my pick right there, but 1,000,000 Parfum is really nice. The Elixir is absolutely beautiful. So, get your nose on this and don't turn it up. I know for some people, they feel a pock or a bond, it's all synthetic, you know, not really my thing. But, when it comes down to price and compliments, I can – I can honestly say that nothing for me has beaten 1,000,000. I think the bottles themselves are kind of gaudy, but overall, the juice is solid at least when it comes to getting compliments. Now, this next fragrance, I don't see anyone ever talking about. It's got a gaudy bottle released in 2021. It's pretty much overlooked by the fragrance community. But, I'll tell you, every time I stopped by a duty-free store, sprayed this stuff on, I was getting compliments. And so, about a year ago, I decided to buy it, started wearing it, and kept getting compliments especially from my daughters. Gents, the fragrance I'm talking about is Carolina Herrera's 212 Heroes. Now, the accords here, it's fresh, spicy, aromatic with fruits, herbs, and a bit of sweetness. But, what really sticks out for me is the pear note. You don't see this a whole lot in fragrances. They did a good job here. Yeah, it's a bit synthetic, but it's not bad. The longevity is good, the freshness is good. I find the cannabis note, I didn't even pick it up until I started really looking for it. And, yeah, if you can look past the gaudy bottle, I think this fragrance is a great one to have in your collection especially if you are a young man. Now, you may be watching this thinking, Antonio, what? No old school fragrances? Okay. These ones really aren't that old school. 2011, Terry Dan Mez's. This one right here, it restarted the house. And I don't know what it is about this dirty orange. I know it sounds weird, but with that vetiver, it is just a beautiful fragrance that is a sleeper that just gets compliments every time I wear it. And, surprisingly, I – blue fragrances in general don't get me a whole lot of compliments. But, Dylan Blue, maybe because I overspray. This one still is – it is a pretty good compliment getter and I like it because it's versatile, it's relatively easy to find, and after all these years, it still works. I will put on the list though, Bleu de Chanel. So, the new Chanel fragrance, L'Exclusive, this is a great fragrance and I feel it works really well for the fall and winter. But, it is brand spanking new. It's a little bit difficult to find. And for that reason, the Eau de Toilette is really the place to start. It's going to be the best value. It's a solid one. Now, you're going to see the Eau de Parfum and the Parfum. These do not last longer. They don't project more. They're just simply a little bit smoother, creamier. Definitely, the Parfum is creamier. If you're a little bit of an older guy, 40s, 50s, 60s, look at the Eau de Parfum or the Parfum if that's your thing. Now, if somebody was really pressing me, Antonio, which one is the best? I'm just going to say go with the Eau de Toilette. It's the classic. It gets the job done. It's beautiful. That being said, if you want something creamier, richer, again, it's not going to last longer, but the Parfum or the Eau de Parfum. But, maybe go into a store and actually smell them all for yourself. But, surprisingly, this one hasn't got me nearly as many compliments as a lot of the other ones I've got on this list. So, it's a great dress-up fragrance, very versatile. It started the whole blue craze. But, when it comes to compliments, yeah, this one, so-so. All that being said, I am going to put Acqua di Gio on this list and for a very particular reason. That reason is that there are so many flankers that are very different than the original. In fact, they seem like almost different fragrances. Now, the original EDT came out, I believe, in 1996, Alberto Marias' masterpiece. This fragrance for like a decade was a bestseller and became an iconic fragrance that most people when they smell it, they're like, oh, I smelled this one before at least on somebody. But, they started coming out with all these flankers and they did a really good job of actually distinguishing them, making them different. Right here, you know, it's now discontinued, so don't go out and buy it. But, you got Profumo here that has a really nice smoky smell to it. If you want an Acqua di Gio that smells more like the ocean, go for Profondo. If you want one that is lighter, has, you know, great for wearing in extreme hot weather, go for Profondo Lights. I know the last time I did a compliment video, I was raving about the EDP. I still love this fragrance. I have gotten multiple compliments every time I wear it. But, the one I'm wearing a bit more now is the brand new Parfum. This one came out supposedly as a replacement for Profumo and I like it. It's grown on me initially. I didn't like it as much. But, you know, I know it's easily available out there. So, guys, going with Acqua di Gio Profumo, this is a very easy pick. That being said, if you happen to see the Absolute, understand this is a little bit sweeter. This one is probably going to be the one that would get you the most compliments because women like sweeter fragrances. Men actually like sweeter fragrances. Now, the next fragrance on this list can be found at Ulta, Sephora, but it seems like everybody walks past it, which is too bad because it is a compliment monster if you wear enough of it. And that is Tiffany & Company's Tiffany in Love for Him. Now, the accords here, nothing amazing. We've got woods, aromatic, fresh spicy, citrus, a bit of warm spice. I don't know. There's just something classic, something underrated, something beautiful about this fragrance. I admit I do overspray this one. And it does get compared to the classic Bleu de Chanel, but, no, this is lighter, this is more fun, this is more casual. And for that reason, I love it. I don't know, maybe I'm just walking different. But, when I'm wearing this fragrance, I get compliments, so I'm sharing this rec with you because I just don't see anyone ever talking about this one. But, if you want to get crazy compliments, the Sauvage I'm going to recommend is the Parfum. This 2019 flanker is hard to beat and that's because it's a smoother, richer, sexier version of the original. A four-season fragrance whose main accords are citrus, woods, and amber, the Parfum when it was released flew under the radar and to this day is one of the least talked about Sauvage flankers, which is why perhaps why reviewers love it because when compared to the original EDT, the Parfum is its classier, sexier, more sophisticated older brother. And when it comes to getting compliments, the Parfum will not let you down. It's got the original Sauvage's DNA, but it's not so much in your face. And I know for me when I wear it, it radiates confidence and I get compliments. So, if you see right here, noir, straight, solid fragrance. And I think even the new one, the Parfum is nice, but right here, the extreme, the – I believe this is the EDP. This one here just really good. And if you want something in that one of those smaller bottles, just simply go with the classic Oud Wood. I know a lot of women even pull this thing off, but it is a masculine man's fragrance and it doesn't really have that much Oud. It just really is a nice rich deep manly scent. So, you guys probably have seen the House Givenchy. I think a lot of their stuff is very confusing. Again, that's why I create infographics like this that break it all out and make it easy for you, which you can get for free over in our Brotherhood of Scents. That being said, let's talk about two of their most recent releases. As you can see, these two bottles are eerily similar. So, make sure to read the bottom. You've got the one that came out in 2023, Givenchy's Gentleman's Society. And then, you've got the new one that just came out, the new Eau de Parfum Extreme. So, I'm going to highlight the Eau de Parfum Extreme. Both of them are fine fragrances, but what's interesting about the Eau de Parfum Extreme, it's got this iced coffee note, which I think is really unique. It doesn't last for a whole long, but it's long enough there that you can pick it up and you can walk into a box store and actually try this one out. I really like it. It's going to be – this is more of a gourmand as we talked about. That's why it's going to get you compliments. And if you like coffee, this one is great because you don't have to, you know, put the caffeine in the bloodstream and you can wear this in the afternoon or in the evening.
