It's Time To Bowl The Biggest Doubles Tournament ｜ 2024 SABC

Alright y'all, we are back with another vlog. And we are at, you know what it is. The Lucy Tournament. The best mixed doubles tournament in the world. Might just be the best doubles tournament in the world. Dude, there's some faces here. I always forget when you show up in this place. How many people like you just know. How many good bowlers there are. You get to bowl. The guys get to bowl with the girls. Just a good time. We're about to start practice. We're gonna get on the lanes. I'm an old man. I gotta warm up. Let's go practice. Here we go. Way too fast. Too fast. I ain't even getting around that one. It's either dead up the back. Or dead around it. And there's a middle spot there that you need to get to. And I haven't done it yet. We have a tendency about 50% of my practice shots. Actually 100% for the first 20 minutes. We're just this way. Every time. And then you over correct trying to get dead up the back of it. And it's a flat 10. Yeah, we're rusty right now. I'm treating this practice session as if I'm bowling like legit tournament right now. Repeating shots. Dude, when I don't bowl tournaments, man, I get rusty. My hand starts doing all this. I got the house shot release right now. That's what it is. The house shot wrist. It looks good. Dude, you know it looks good. Let me show you how good it looks. That's the freshie too. Brand new, baby. Debating on whether to hit it with surface or not. But it's looking good right now. The way it is. But yeah, attention still looks good. I think I can hook a phase two at the beginning. I'm in the constant struggle where I'm like I'm going to start at 22. And I don't know if you can stop me. I'm always like, oh, I should play a little bit further right. Nah, dude. I think I'm just going to hook it from the beginning. But I can drill the new phase two. It looks really good. I think a journey a little bit later is going to look good. That ball looks good. I'm still going to drill. Because I brought a gem. It's just way too strong. Wait, I don't know why I brought it. I even told myself, why did I bring the gem? I'm like, oh, you've got to have a big ASIM strong ball in your bag. But they hook so much over here. You don't even need it. So I am pro looks OK. They're going to play different. So I think the iron pro could look good. But we've got some good options. We've got to work on the hand. No. My dad calls me two days ago, and he goes, listen, man, if you make it to Thursday, you've got a really good chance because all the big dogs are going to be at the Lucy. I said, Dad, quit counting your chickens. Yeah. Stop. You've just got to. I don't even want to. I feel like I've got to address it, but I don't even want to talk about it. I know. You do not want to jinx it. Yeah. Yeah, four days left to win an Eagle in the singles portion of USBC Open Championship. And even though the big dogs are here, the way that pattern plays, anyone can get hot. There's more good bowlers than there are at the Lucy. They're out there. Oh, yeah, for sure. I didn't realize D-Ron, when he won his Eagle, won it on the last day or whatever. Yeah, second to last day. Why does he got to tell us that? I know, exactly. If you watch the podcast, he's like, yeah, when I won my Eagle, we bowled the last squad. It's like, thanks, D-Ron. Yeah, so I guess Sunday here, I guess we won't know if there's a bunch of squads that night. But we'll know Sunday. You know what's going to happen? We're going to get off the plane in St. Louis. You're either going to be an Eagle winner or not. Sunday night. 50-50 shot. Either you win it or you don't. Yeah, that's where we're at. What was first out of Kyle's bag? Gray and what? The gray and red one. Which is that? The only ball he got any pins with this year. Oh, the attention star. Is that red? Yeah, exactly. It looks like purple. I was thinking absolute power. It's a reddish purple. I don't know if it's going to be the first ball out of my bag because it's tough. If it's going to be the first ball out of my bag, I've got to crack it with some surface. But I think if I do that, then I won't be able to use it as long. I think game three, that ball is going to be like money. It's just about getting to game three. But you know what? I might be wrong. It might be the first ball out of my bag. How do you feel about your practice? How much practice did you get in? 30 minutes. There was someone flying out of... They gave three reasons. They needed maintenance on the plane. A high-profile political person was in the air. And then it was raining in Houston. They just threw the kitchen sink at you. I'm not sure what's going on here, but we're not getting in the air. There's a bunch of crap going wrong today. Yeah, you know, it wasn't bad because the people who were laying over in Houston to go to another destination, they were screwed. So the guys came on the plane and said, If you're going to Cabo, if you're going to Pittsburgh, and you're going to somewhere else, you're not making it. So a bunch of people just deplaned. I'm like, it's not so bad. So they were on the plane that got off? Yes. Oh, wow. And then a couple people actually got back on because we were ready to go then, and they think they can make it. Flights are sketchy right now. They're a little... It's a little worrisome. A little iffy. So you were good? Yeah, I was good. Yeah, we left the house at 1.30 in the morning. Wow. Two and a half hour drive to the airport. And we got to the airport like two hours early. And I told Amanda, I'm like, dude, we don't need to get to the airport two hours early. She's like, no, it's 6 a.m. That's when everyone shows up. I'm like, nah, we're fine. We get there, there's 150 people in line. Yeah. And so we were two hours early to the airport, got to our gate with 20 minutes to spare. Made it. Yes, sir. Made it. We're here. So, all right. I'm going to wrap up this practice, I guess.
