Fall of the Ming Dynasty

From outside the Ming dynasty Mongols and Jurchens were a danger, while eunuchs and powerful women created internal turmoil. China became a state of 100 million people under the Wanli Emperor (萬曆; 1572-1620) who ruled for nearly half a century. Heaven showed its displeasure of succeeding emperors. As Manchu forces advanced from the north, and rebels took the capital city and the Ming dynasty ended.
