We have the Formula 40, the most competitive race on the grid.
You're with experts there.
It sounds like it's just old people, but I'm telling you,
the 40-year-olds have the most experience.
They're doing better lap times than any 20-year-olds out here.
All right, we're in position.
It's a Formula 40 race.
Time to kill the game.
Cory is super fast.
Armando is fast.
So we're gonna see how this one turns out.
I got off to a decent start.
Past Armando, who was gridded second.
Cory, who started in first, is ahead of me.
He ends up checking out on me.
He's very fast, consistently lapping in the high 140s,
while I'm consistently lapping in the low 150s.
So
positions remain the same throughout the first lap,
but on lap two, Armando passes me into Phil Hill.
After watching this footage, I've realized where I'm going wrong here
and why he always passes me in this same spot.
I think I'll be faster through here on my next race.
So
I get past Armando in the straightaway, but I know I have to push to stay in front.
If I make one small mistake, he is going to pass me.
So
a few laps pass and I catch up to one of the Formula 40 middleweight riders
that started in the second wave.
I need to pass him quickly or Armando is going to pass both of us.
Armando wastes no time passing him and now he's right on my tail again.
I only have to hold off Armando for one more lap and I've got second place.
So
we got second. That was rough. That was a rough race, but
we edged out Armando. He passed me there for a second.
What? It was Armando passed me once.
Yeah.
Not in the straightaway, but right before Phil Hill.
Oh God.
All right. That tire is torn up. It was slipping and sliding.
Yeah. Oh, I'm dying.
We did it though. I was hanging with Corey for a minute. I was like, nah.
Yeah, he was gone quick. He's fast as ----, man.
We got a first and a second today. Kill the game, MaxFam.
All right. I just got the showcase because I sponsored the 600 race.
So he's up there talking about right now how Max is a great influence to the racing community
because I'm pulling people off the street. So that's awesome to hear.
And that's the goal. If you're intimidated by the track, you shouldn't be. It is for
new riders. It is for old riders. It is for modern riders. Everybody's welcome here. I
think it's like kind of an intimidating thing. I know it was for me and you shouldn't be
intimidated by it. It's way safer to be out here. The ambulance is right there.
You're not going to lay on the side of the road like everybody who's crashed today.
It hasn't been catastrophic injuries. Nobody is having injuries that are going to result
in loss of life or limb. So I think that's like the key right there. You know,
they're not hitting guardrails. They're not going off a cliff. So if you're a new rider,
don't be intimidated by the track. Come out here with us.
My next race will be round five at Buttonwillow again, but it's at the circuit track this time,
which is a new track and in perfect condition. I hope to see some new
riders there racing with me. Sign up at racecra.com.
