And the Formula 2 sprint race is officially underway for round 8 of the season here at Silverstone.
And it's Kimi Antonelli in the red and white Prima who will lead us down the Hamilton straight for the first time.
Zayn Maloney there in second place.
Kushmaini in third. We have a battle going on for fourth place.
Jack Crawford leading that in the Dams Lucas oil car.
But in the yellow Invicta we've got Gabriel Portoletto under pressure from Oli Behrmann,
the British driver in the red and white Prima trying to dive down the inside.
Now he looks to the outside. Can he get the switchback move as we make our way up towards Aintree?
Oh, a bit of contact there. Is there damage now to the car of Oli Behrmann as we hit the Wellington straight, Alex?
Yeah, he's lost the left front end plate of the front wing.
Oli Behrmann having a look up the inside of Gabriel Portoletto down through Turn 4.
Portoletto in turn putting pressure on Crawford through the early stages of the lap.
But it's Behrmann with pace, Crawford really struggling and bottling up Portoletto back into the midfield.
Up ahead, it's a close battle for second. Antonelli escaping out front.
Portoletto now all over the back of Crawford.
Let's jump on board with the Brazilian side by side through Copse in the wet.
Yes, please, says Gabriel Portoletto. He's going to have it all the way around the outside.
Gabriel Portoletto hugely brave to try the move.
Didn't quite pay off, but now he's going to go side by side into Maggots and Becketts round the outside.
And the reigning Formula 3 champion goes into fourth place. What a move from Portoletto.
And Oli Behrmann versus Martins. Martins surely looking to the outside down to Brooklands.
That's where all the grip will be and he'll be able to hoon around the outside of the Prema and take the place.
Feature race winner here last year, Victor Martins in the background in the red bull livery.
That's Isaac Hajar side by side with his championship rival Paul Aaron.
They almost touch the pair coming on towards the straight here.
They come through Woodcut now and Paul Aaron sits in behind Isaac Hajar.
You can see the cars moving all over the road, trying to avoid where the worst of the standing water is.
We've got a yellow flag out in sector three.
They loom through the spray and straight off, straight off through the first part of Abbey.
Yeah, we've got someone running wide there.
It looks like Correa has gone off through the final section of the circuit.
Hajar, the red bull livery car running wide at the first corner.
Cordele in the pit lane. Safety car is out.
And yeah, just there's a river that runs across the road there due to the way that the club corner is drained.
And you have to be very careful on the throttle.
We've seen drivers really struggling through the exit there.
Red flag has come out and that will be due to the conditions.
As we head up towards Abbey for the first time of this restart, 15 laps to go.
Zayn Maloney sat there in second.
Then it's the two yellow Invicta Racing cars.
Kush Meini leading, winner from last time out, Gabriel Bortoletto.
As they make their way up towards the loop now, we've got side by side action going on between Meini,
Bortoletto to the left of screen, trying to perform a switchback move on his teammate.
And he's got the better traction out of the corner.
But Meini shuts the door in his face there.
Will we have now side by side action going on down the Wellington Stroke?
Yes, we will. Bortoletto's found a gap on the inside.
We've seen him pull off some fantastic moves already in this race round the outside.
Now he's going to try and pull off another.
But Kush Meini well defended on that occasion, Alex Brundle.
And Victor Martins is absolutely flying in the Alpine livery machine.
He's made a move on Hauger. He's now trying to go around the outside.
And did he make it as they made their way through the exit of Lufffield?
He's got massive pace behind the wheel of that ART.
Putting him into pressure. Hopefully he makes a mistake. Don't lose behind.
Just trying to crash my roadway, man.
Well, Bortoletto not happy at all there with his teammate Meini.
We've got teammates going head to head once again in Formula 2.
As they come down towards Brooklands and Lufffield.
Now side by side Martins dive down the inside there.
Oh, we've got someone slowing. Now that's one of the high techs.
That is Pepe Marti and championship leader Paul Aron.
Slowing down the Wellington straight. Pepe Marti has come to a halt.
He is out of this race and Paul Aron could be out as well.
Is that Isaac Hajar off the road as well? It is.
The top two in the championship are both out of this race.
Aron making the move around the outside.
This is then a bit of quake again.
contact down towards the apex.
That's O'Sullivan making contact with Paul Aron.
Two cars ahead of us.
Pepe Marti going to pile through this break
and just clatter straight into the back of Paul Aron.
But did Aron already have a problem there?
Because he was really slow through the exit of the corner
onto the Wellington Straight.
Let's have a look at it from Aron's perspective.
Yeah.
I think he's already got a problem there, Aron.
At the same time, we're going to look at Hadjar
having a completely unrelated incident here.
And he's just going to go straight off at Copse.
There he is.
But he's got Zak O'Sullivan coming up the inside
and making contact with him.
Victor Martins round and Zak O'Sullivan going on.
But that will certainly be Victor Martins
tumbling down the order now, unfortunately.
Well, Victor Martins stationary coming out of the loop there.
And that is going to be Zak O'Sullivan
crawling down the Wellington Straight.
The fight between Bortoletto and Meini being a bit more neutralised,
but Miata challenged to the inside by Dirksen who spins.
Dirksen spinning through Abbey there.
And once again, the good measure will catch the car now
and should get back going again.
So Joshua Dirksen rejoining the circuit.
Here he goes to the outside.
Gabriel Bortoletto giving it absolutely everything.
But Meini has been equal to all the challenges in defence so far.
Bortoletto thinks he's found a gap now on the inside through Luffield.
Will this be the time Bortoletto gets through?
They almost touch wheels there.
The crowd cheering as the two Invicta Racing drivers
come through Woodcut through the final time.
Bortoletto has pulled off a move here at Copse.
Will he be able to do so again?
Not quite on this occasion, Alex.
Scrabbling over the kerb on the inside of Luffield.
He's got so much more grip than him.
Lap by lap, he's moving more and more in Bortoletto's favour.
How much time will he have left, though?
That's the issue as they make their way through the final opportunities of the lap.
He's got a couple more braking zones to do it in.
Well, this is the battle for third.
It has been fast and furious.
Bortoletto trying his best to get by Kusch-Meini
and it is going to go right down to the final corner.
Gabriel Bortoletto doing his best to get by Kusch-Meini
as they take us in towards Stowe Corner.
But we can't count out this out front with conditions out there worst.
Kimi Antonelli has adapted the fastest as he takes a giant leap
to Formula One with his first win in Formula Two.
Behind, we have side by side action with Bortoletto.
Kusch-Meini wheel to wheel round the final corner.
Airborne goes Bortoletto to the final step of the podium.
Bravo, Kimi, go! Yes!
Awesome drive, buddy. Awesome drive. Yes.
Let's go. Let's go. Oh, my God.
Oh, thank you, guys.
I needed it.
Looks like you can swim, mate.
Great job.
Kimi Antonelli is a winner in Formula Two.
The 17-year-old takes the win in the wets
here at Silverstone by 8.6 seconds ahead of Zane Maloney.
Gabriel Bortoletto in a last corner sprint
gets ahead of his Invicta Racing teammate, Kusch-Meini.
That's a very special moment for Kimi Antonelli, the first of many.
And we celebrate with champagne.
It's been a wet day here at Silverstone,
so no harm done with the champagne celebrations.
