And we are go for the sprint race here for round 6 of Formula 2. A great launch for Martins.
He snatches the lead immediately for Cushmany as we head down towards the first corner.
A great start from Juan Manuel Correa.
Ritomo Miata in the all-black road in motorsport car goes round the outside to go to P2.
Correa is in third place. We're side-by-side between the two Invicta racing cars.
And it looks like Cushmany has dropped down another place.
Bortoletto trying to go round the inside of him. I think that was for Martins leading out from.
Miney made his way through on Bortoletto in that lap.
But a really difficult start for him. And now he's looking to the inside, Miney.
Sells the dummy goes down the inside there of Correa.
Great move there from Cushmany.
And takes third place away from Correa as they make their way through Turn 3.
And it might be another place lost here for Correa.
He's got Bortoletto trying to come round the outside.
Here comes Bortoletto on the brakes now, round the outside.
And the Brazilian driver will take fourth place there.
Not having a nice day, is he? Behind the wheel of that car.
Another attempt from Isaac Hadjar.
And that time he had a lot more pace going down the straight.
And that time he's gone down the inside of Kimi Antonelli.
And that is move complete for Isaac Hadjar.
It's taken a few attempts to do it.
But Isaac Hadjar completes the move on Antonelli.
A lot more traction for Hadjar.
And now he's going to be under pressure from the downs.
Because Antonelli was behind the aero-wash of Isaac Hadjar.
And it'll be Crawford then also that makes his way through on Antonelli.
Two positions in two corners there.
Yeah, Jack Crawford lined that one up very well, didn't he?
Just positioned his car in the right place, right time.
And picks up the pieces of that move.
And just like you expected, Alex,
Biermann being told to bring the car in.
Tomomiata is under investigation and has got a five second time penalty.
Yes, that would drop him out of the top five.
So, the battles behind come even more significant now.
Through the exit of Turn 13.
Oh, wow.
He's definitely off.
But it's millimeter stuff.
He's going to have the RS down this front straight.
Will he be able to make a move on Portoletto?
Portoletto coming over to defend their wheel-to-wheel.
Going into the first corner.
But Correa not quite able to get through.
Will he get the switchback, Alex?
Will they drop Meini back now to assist Portoletto with the DRS?
Could be another reason why they've moved Meini backwards
towards the car of Portoletto.
But Portoletto really badly on the defense now.
On the way down towards Turn 4.
Big pressure for him from the down behind.
You can see how much he's sliding through four in towards five now.
Huge lock up there from Portoletto coming down to Turn 5.
Correa right behind him.
They're not alone though.
They're not alone.
Paul Aron closing in on them as well.
So this is now becoming a three-way fight
for what would be the last step on the podium.
Which one of these four will be third lock up for Meini?
Going down to Turn 5.
That's going to affect his run now.
Does this give Correa a chance to make a move into Turn 7?
Not quite, but he's definitely feeling the pressure out there.
Yeah, it's Portoletto with the big lock up
dropping away from teammate Meini.
That inside front not working for him
is going to put him under huge pressure
as they make their way out of Turn 9.
Can Correa do anything about it?
Doesn't look to have the idea.
Doesn't look to have the opportunity down the inside.
Or does he? It's a short braking zone.
And he makes it work down the inside.
Can he hang on to it, Portoletto?
Around the outside, he can't.
Well, Correa makes the move down the inside at Turn 10
and gets the move done on Gabriel Portoletto.
And that will put Juan Manuel Correa third place
as he comes through the final corner.
Huge battles going on in the background.
The other dams car all over the back of Paul Aaron.
But the fight not over yet.
The DRS now with Gabriel Portoletto.
They come down towards the first corner.
Are we going to see a change here?
Portoletto under pressure from Paul Aaron.
He's running slightly wide there in that yellow Invicta.
And Paul Aaron looks like he's lining up a move here, Alex.
As we come through Turn 2, round Turn 3.
Around the outside goes Paul Aaron
to take the place away from Portoletto.
He's fallen off the cliff.
He's fallen off the cliff in the Invicta.
No more purchase left from that rear tyre.
First it's Correa, then it's Aaron.
Surely Crawford will follow.
And it's just one lap too long.
This sprint race, there goes Crawford down the inside.
One lap too long for the McLaren Junior.
Correa promoted up to the podium after the penalty from Miata.
And heartbreak for Portoletto,
who's going to slide back down the order.
Victor Martins for the 10th time in his Formula 2 career
will stand on a podium.
And he will return to the top step of the podium
for the second time.
And one man, Will Correa,
five years ago to the weekend
when he finished second
behind Antoine Hubert at Paul Ricard
returns to the Formula 2 podium.
What an emotional result for one man, Will Correa.
Let's reflect on this provisional sprint race result
with some of those penalties still coming through.
Victor Martins, we do know our winner.
He takes his first podium of the season.
One man, Will Correa, back to a Formula 2 podium
for the first time in five years.
For the first time, he gets to stand on a podium this season.
I can't imagine after that performance
it will be his last time there.
One man, Will Correa, making us all very proud.
I don't think that will be his last either.
He's got his eyes on the podium tomorrow
for the feature races.
And that's where we go to next, Alex.
