Welcome to Recetas y Más. I'm Heister and today I'm going to prepare a very different recipe with tuna
so you can eat rich in this Lent and Holy Week. Let's start.
To start, you're going to need two cans of tuna.
The tuna that I'm going to use is the tuna that comes in water,
but if you have tuna that comes in oil, you can use it, you just have to drain it.
Also remember that you can use the tuna that comes in vegetables.
With this one, it tastes even better.
But, I didn't find it, but we're going to do it anyway so that it tastes really good.
Here, we're going to drain the water.
You have to do this completely so that it tastes really good
and you get all the flavor of the ingredients that we're going to add.
You can also drain it using a strainer, but this way it's easier for me
and I don't get so many dishes dirty in my house.
Now, we're going to add the tuna in a cup or deep dish.
We need to start adding all the ingredients and this recipe is a recipe that you make in 10 minutes.
It's perfect as a snack, perfect as a dinner,
and now that we're in Lent and Holy Week is coming,
it's perfect to take if you're going out for a walk, if you're going somewhere to camp,
you can take it and it works really well.
You're going to add half a cucumber.
Look, I only add half a cucumber because we want the tuna flavor to stay,
but if you want it to be more economical and more profitable,
add a big whole cucumber.
This cucumber is big.
What you're going to do is this.
You're going to cut it into strips.
You want it to look really nice and that when you serve it,
you don't see the big pieces, so you do it this way.
If the cucumber you're using has really big seeds, you can remove them.
As you can see, the cucumber I'm using has really small seeds,
so I'm going to leave them.
We're going to cut it into really small squares.
And once it's well chopped, you're going to add it along with the tuna.
This recipe has to be all fresh cut,
even if it's good to take somewhere,
it has to be all cut in a fresh way so that it gets a lot of flavor.
Then, you're going to add onion.
Look, I'm going to use red onion, and as you can see, I'm using very little.
If you want to add a lot of onion, you can do that,
but if the flavor is too strong, you can use hot water.
But since I'm using very little, I'm not going to use hot water.
I'm just going to chop it and add it with the other ingredients,
that is, with the tuna and the cucumber.
We're also going to add other ingredients to make it more flavorful.
We're going to use two tomatoes.
Look, the tomatoes I'm using are big, well rinsed, and dry.
What I'm going to do is I'm going to remove the stem and I'm going to cut them.
And I know, you're thinking, two tomatoes will be enough.
Yes, it's enough because we're adding a big tomato for each can of tuna.
Here, it's also important that I mention that you have to remove the seeds.
The seeds soak up all the content, soak up the salad, so you don't want that.
We're going to remove the seeds because it releases a lot of water,
and then we're going to cut it into very small squares so that it looks very pretty.
Once you've cut it, you're going to see the amount.
If you want more, you can cut more, but it's all going to depend on the size of the tomatoes you're using.
And to give it a very rich aroma, we're going to use cilantro.
Look, we're going to use very little.
I'm using about a fifth of a handful of cilantro.
Already rinsed, disinfected, and with all the stems.
And we're going to chop it very well so that it gets a lot of flavor.
If you don't like cilantro, you can avoid this step, but if you add it, it's going to be very rich.
We're going to add it to the same cup where we have all the ingredients.
And here, as you can see, it's already taking shape.
This salad is very refreshing, very healthy, and most importantly, delicious and perfect to share with the family.
You're going to need half a cup of pre-cooked corn, also known as choclo or mazorca.
It has to be pre-cooked, that's important.
You're going to add the juice of one lemon.
I'm using green lemon, but you can also use yellow.
Both serve you and give you a lot of flavor.
Now, you're going to season, so you need to add other ingredients.
Don't worry, they'll always be listed in the video description.
You're going to add a teaspoon of salt.
Also, half a teaspoon of garlic powder or a small, well-grated clove of garlic.
You're going to use a quarter teaspoon of dried oregano.
You're also going to need a teaspoon of olive oil.
This helps you digest food better and keeps them fresh for longer.
And since this ingredient couldn't be missing, we're going to add a large avocado, also known as palta.
This avocado is ready.
You have to make sure it's not too ripe, so it doesn't get too mushy and it doesn't look too good in a salad.
This ingredient, like a vegetable or a fruit, because avocado is a fruit, is the last one to be added.
That way, it keeps you fresh and remember that the olive oil will help it stay green for longer.
Now, if you're going to take it for a walk, you have to add the avocado when you're already at the place.
Add half a cup of mayonnaise.
If you want to change the mayonnaise for something healthier, you can add half a cup of Greek yogurt or light yogurt,
so that way it has less calories.
But if that's not your problem, if you don't want to lose weight, if you're not on a strict diet,
add the mayonnaise, it's delicious and it gives it a delicious aroma.
Mix all the ingredients very well.
This recipe can be served immediately, but if you want it to be even tastier,
you can keep it in the refrigerator for an hour before serving.
Remember that this recipe, if you take it for a walk, lasts 6 hours.
After 6 hours, I don't recommend you consume it, because remember that it has tuna,
and tuna gets spoiled very quickly once taken out of the can.
So you can also cut all the ingredients and just mix them in the place where you are.
I'm giving you these options because I know that on these dates many people go out for a walk
and look for economical and profitable recipes.
Here you can add more ingredients, like for example, you can add a well chopped celery,
you can add more cucumber, you can add broccoli too, and it's more profitable.
To serve, I'm going to do it with tostadas, that is, fried corn tortillas.
You can also serve it with lettuce.
For example, you put a lettuce instead of the fried tortillas,
you add the salad, and you eat some healthy rolls, and that way you don't feel guilty.
Now, how much are you going to add in each tostada?
It will depend on how many people there are in your home, how profitable you want it to be.
But in this case, I'm not going to serve a lot because there are three tostadas,
and this recipe, apart from being healthy, is very filling.
