NASA declared Blue Origin somehow Better than SpaceX Starship Landing on Moon! Musk LAUGHS...
Oh no! SpaceX and Blue Origin are at it again! It all kicked off when NASA’s Acting Administrator gave Jeff Bezos’ company another shot at the HLS contract, a move that felt like a subtle jab at SpaceX’s Starship delays. That decision reignited the long-standing rivalry between the two private space giants. The tension grew so intense that Elon Musk had to step in and drop a statement that left both NASA and Blue Origin completely humiliated.
So, what exactly did he say? And how did his words end up making SpaceX look even stronger in this new space race? Let’s find out in today’s episode of Alpha Tech.

Yeah, that is not a random internet comment, it came straight from Elon Musk himself. The SpaceX CEO went off on NASA’s acting administrator, Sean Duffy, after he made a move that, frankly, shocked almost everyone in the space community.
Here’s the deal, Duffy was pushing to merge NASA with the Department of Transportation. Since he already runs the DoT, he wanted to bring NASA, an agency built for space exploration, under his control, to create one unified system that covers everything from ground transport to space travel.
A NASA spokesperson even backed this up, saying Duffy believes NASA could “benefit from being part of the Cabinet, possibly within the Department of Transportation.” But critics quickly warned that such a merger would destroy NASA’s independence, turning it into just another bureaucratic branch instead of a pioneering space agency.
Elon Musk wasn’t having any of that. As the head of SpaceX, he fired back, not just to defend NASA’s autonomy, but to expose how ridiculous Duffy’s idea truly was.

But that wasn’t the only reason Musk went after him.
On October 20th, Duffy took a direct shot at SpaceX, accusing the company of falling behind on the Starship HLS project. And he didn’t stop there. He announced that NASA was now considering a “Plan B,” suggesting that the Artemis 3 lander contract could be expanded to include other companies like Blue Origin and Boeing.
Then came the statement that really crossed the line:
“Whoever gets us there first will be chosen. If SpaceX is late and Blue Origin makes it first, good for Blue Origin.”
At first glance, it looked like NASA was simply trying to diversify its lunar partners. But emphasizing Blue Origin of all companies? That was a clear jab at SpaceX, especially since the two have been fierce rivals for years. To make things worse, Duffy went on to boast that SLS and Orion had already completed “their final major hardware components” and were preparing for Artemis 2, basically flexing that NASA’s own systems were ready, while Starship HLS was still lagging behind.
