Move It with Your Mouth

I started out the day feeling really great.
Hallelujah.
Let's turn to Proverbs chapter 21.
Proverbs, I've got so many papers in my Bible,
so I don't normally have this many papers,
but I have places I wanted to mark.
Because I've got different studying projects going on.
In Proverbs chapter 21, in verse 23,
I read this recently.
How many of you ever read a scripture
and it just jumps off the page at you?
Well, that's what happened here.
Verse 23 says,
Whoever guards his mouth and tongue...
Is everybody there?
Keeps his soul from troubles.
Let me read that again.
Whoever guards his mouth and tongue
keeps his soul from troubles.
Anybody have any trouble around here?
You know, there's all kinds of...
Well, let me just...
Let me say this instead of saying all kinds.
There's two predominant types of trouble.
There's trouble that comes from the devil,
and it comes usually in the form of people, opposition.
But then there's trouble that comes
because we didn't guard our mouth and our tongue.
And some trouble that comes from our mouth and tongue
didn't come the moment we spoke it.
It came years down the road.
So trouble comes.
Trouble comes to everybody.
Today we had some trouble that was beyond our control.
You know, the unexpected storm
that blew our recycling bin down the road
with everything in it.
So we had to spend some time today
fishing all of our junk out of the ditches and the streets
and fun, fun, fun.
And I found myself having to resist
being angry at the garbage men
because they come so late.
If they would just come early,
this wouldn't have happened.
Trouble comes.
But the kind of trouble that we have control over
is the trouble that comes from what we say out of our mouths.
Amen?
And so we're going to talk a little bit about this tonight.
Let's go to Mark Chapter 11.
It just seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to me
to talk about it.
And there's a lot of things that have been spoken
from this pulpit recently
along the lines of dominion and faith.
And God is getting us ready for what's to come.
As a matter of fact,
let me just grab my phone here.
I know we're on camera here, but
one of the things that I recently saw
was a prophecy by Smith Wigglesworth from 1946.
And he said this.
He said,
When the current church phase is on the decline,
let me know.
That's totally where we're at.
There will be something that has not been seen before.
There will be a coming together of those
with an emphasis on the Word
and those with an emphasis on the Spirit.
And when the Word and Spirit come together,
there will be the biggest move of the Holy Spirit
the nation and indeed the world has ever seen.
It will mark the beginning of the revival
that will eclipse anything that has been witnessed.
So even though the current church phase is on the decline
and many have become weary and discouraged,
we've got good things to look forward to.
Amen.
This is where we're at.
But part of us getting into that
is we are going to have to walk in our authority
and how many of you know authority operates by faith?
So let's go to Mark chapter 11,
our classic text for Abundant Life Family Church.
If you say that you went to Ramah
and you don't preach Mark 11 anymore,
you are a betrayer.
This commission was our commission
and just because a man goes to heaven
doesn't mean that the mandate from God ended.
So Mark chapter 11 verse 22,
it says,
So Jesus answered and said to them,
Have faith in God.
Or we know the more literal translation is
have the faith of God,
which is not blasphemy.
It's entirely possible.
For assuredly I say to you,
whoever says to this mountain,
Be removed and be cast into the sea
and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done,
he will have whatever he says.
Now we're talking about our mouth tonight
and this scripture validates the fact
that what we say comes to pass.
Therefore I say to you,
whatever things you ask for when you pray,
believe that you receive them
and you will have them.
As we've said before,
verse 23 tells you how to get things from God
by saying it.
Verse 24 tells us how to receive by praying it.
But when you pray it,
you still have to say it.
So the mouth is involved.
You know,
there's a sign when we drive by the Oswego High School
to go home every day,
every time we go by there,
there's a school across the street from the high school
on route 34.
Actually,
I don't think 71 has quite begun yet,
but there's a big sign.
They always have some kind of a saying or a slogan.
And out there on the sign,
I've been noticing it says,
believe that you can and you're halfway there.
And I thought,
well that's about the most scriptural thing
I've seen on that sign.
Because that's true,
you're halfway there.
But they're missing the other half.
Whatever their interpretation of the other half is,
I'm glad it's not up there.
But the other half is you have to say it.
Glory to God.
So you're halfway there if you believe right,
but if you don't say right,
you don't arrive.
I remember when Brother Hayden was dying on his deathbed
and he cried for two days,
or maybe he cried for two or three days.
He said,
I had a dark brown headache.
Because he cried so hard.
You know,
and I love quoting him because I'm not from the South.
And the people from the North
don't have all these fancy colloquial sayings.
yeah,
you just can't tell.
Dark brown headache,
so okay.
And so his mother finally came in the room one night
to comfort him and he said,
well Mama,
if you just want to get well,
can't that help?
And she said,
well that's half the battle.
Just wanting to be well.
And he said,
well I've got 50% of it left then.
I mean,
you know,
he was such a statistical,
calculated person.
So in his mind,
he literally got him halfway there.
When she said just wanting to be well.
And that's really true.
You know,
if you don't want something bad,
you won't have it.
Because the devil will see to it that you don't get it.
So,
whoever says to this mountain,
be removed,
you have a mountain in your life.
Trouble,
a mountain is representing trouble in this passage.
You have trouble in your life.
Whoever says to this trouble,
be removed,
and be cast into the sea,
and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done,
he will have whatever he says.
Whoever says to the trouble in their life,
you can't stay here,
I command you to go.
In the name of Jesus.
How many know that's authority?
And doesn't doubt in his heart when he says it.
When I command this trouble to go,
I know it has to go.
He believes in his heart,
and he believes that those things he says will be done,
he will have whatever he says.
So,
we have to believe it,
and we have to say it.
You know,
we have had a lot of opportunities recently
to exercise authority.
And since we've been hearing so much about it
from Pastor Nancy and Pastor Jeff,
it ought to be fresh in your spirit,
not just your mind.
And,
you know,
you need to take every opportunity to use your authority.
I had,
I was talking to Miss Debbie recently,
because when Pastor Nancy was here,
I don't know if it's because I've just been lifting too much weight,
and sometimes I'll lift,
put one bag on this finger,
and one bag on this finger,
and I'm trying to carry all this weight on my fingers,
you know?
But somehow I broke a blood vessel,
and it starts out just feeling like itchy and irritated,
and then before you know it,
it hurts really bad,
and then my whole finger swelled up,
and it was purple as all get-up.
Man,
what on earth?
Why is that happening?
I've never had anything like this in my life.
And I remember asking Miss Debbie,
well,
why would you suppose that would happen?
And she said,
because you're getting older.
I'm sorry,
that's a new thought for me.
I had a hard time accepting that one.
As the explanation.
I was like,
why would you get tired easier than you did 20 years ago?
I'm sorry,
I can't accept that either,
so I am resisting it with all that is within me.
So today,
I went to do something,
and I was handling a pole,
and it was early this morning,
and when I put that pole down,
I had that same sensation in a different finger,
and I could see it starting to turn purple,
and I said,
wait a minute,
no you don't.
And instantly took authority over that thing,
and it stopped right there.
No purple finger.
Now that's a minor thing,
but how many of you don't exercise your dominion on minor things?
I don't know,
has anybody else ever had that happen to you?
I don't know.
So,
are you over the age of 50?
Glory to God.
Well,
we're not having it,
and the way you don't have it is you say no,
you don't.
Now,
Brother Hagen talked about how he hadn't had a headache since 1933,
but he said,
but it doesn't mean that one didn't try to come on him.
He passed up some marvelous opportunities,
and all of us can do the same thing,
because God's not a respectful person.
And so he said,
when a headache would try to come on him,
immediately,
he didn't sit there and wonder,
huh,
I wonder if this means I'm going to have a headache day,
or it's going to be a dark brown headache,
or I wonder if I should go to the medicine cabinet
and get some Tylenol.
That was not the first thought that ever entered his mind,
because he was so experienced and skilled at dealing with this.
He'd say,
no you don't,
and instantly it would go.
I mean,
we have some things to work on in our lives.
And the reason we talk so much about this man
is because he was such a fine example of how to work the Word.
It wasn't that he was better than everybody else,
he just took advantage of the Word.
And we can do the same thing
if we'll do what it takes,
really spending time in the Word
and spending time in God's presence.
We can see from this passage
that the God kind of faith moves things.
It moves things into your life,
it moves things out of your life.
And, you know,
I'm sure you have something in your life that you want moved.
You know, when Pastor Jeff decided,
and let me just say this,
because we've had experience doing this for so many decades,
we had on our saying list for many years about the New York.
But then there comes a point
where the Holy Spirit will quicken something to you,
and faith comes.
And so the quality decision was made,
and he read that mini book by Brother Hagin several times
on how God taught me to prosper,
and then he'd taken on those scriptures,
and then he decided, that's it, I'm believing for the money.
And once he set himself in that direction
and made that quality decision
and started to believe we would receive it,
the money came in two weeks.
Two weeks time.
It wasn't because we're special,
it's because we work the Word.
The Word works.
So there are some things that we want moved into our lives,
and some things we want moved out,
but we have to do them by faith.
So no matter what the devil says,
these troubles that you might be facing don't have to stay.
It doesn't matter if they've been there 10 years, 20 years, 30 years,
nothing has to stay if you'll deal with it.
But God won't move it for you.
You've got to move it yourself,
because you're the one, as we so wonderfully learned,
that has been given the authority to do it.
Jesus no longer has authority to move mountains for you.
He gave you the authority to move the mountains.
And so we have to.
Remember that song? I've sung it before.
Some of you are older than I am,
but you've got a mountain that is in your way.
You want to move it, it wants to stay.
You need the power that comes from F-A-I-T-H.
Hey, what do they say?
Move that mountain out of your way.
Those are some really great songs that ministry had back when.
So you may want something moved or changed,
but it's going to stay until you do something about it. Amen?
Hallelujah.
So what have you been saying lately?
Some of us, we are...
I don't know about you, but I've noticed this.
From the time I got saved up until this very day,
I'm always working on something.
Working on trying to change a habit,
or working on my consecration level,
or working on a faith project.
I'm always working on change. You know why?
Why? Because the Holy Spirit, by the time you master this thing,
He'll point something new out that you've got to work on.
And so there's always something that we're working on.
And sometimes we carry, not sometimes, all the time,
when we get born again, we carry bad habits into our Christian life.
We carry baggage with us because it's still in the realm of the soul.
And we can actually be saying and doing things
and not even aware that it's dysfunctional or hurting us.
Because it's so ingrained in you.
And so oftentimes you don't even recognize it until time goes by,
and you've developed in some other areas,
and now you're in a position to see that you need to work on it.
And how many know this, that you can have dysfunction in your life,
but you can walk into someone else's home,
and within 30 minutes you can identify dysfunction in that place.
Not in a judgmental way, okay?
Why? Because you're not part of that situation.
You're the outsider walking into it,
and it's easier for someone on the outside
to recognize something that that person themself can't see.
Right?
Bless how it is with God. He sees it all.
Things that we're not always seeing or noticing.
And so He is going to reveal things to us as we can handle it
and as we're mature enough, and our faith level gets to where it's at,
where we can start dealing with these things and changing them.
And one of the areas that He's going to deal with us the most in
is what we're saying about things.
You know, I've been really trying to set a guard over my tongue.
I don't always feel 100%, but you know, it's not how we feel that matters.
We can change how we feel by changing the words that come out of our mouths.
Changing the way we react to situations.
You know, like today, I'll be honest,
it seems like on Wednesday is a great day.
You know, for years I would say it seems like on Wednesdays I have to fasten my seatbelt.
Well, that's the wrong thing to say, isn't it?
Because if you keep saying it,
because the devil knows I've got to get ready to preach.
So today, you know, we have another marvelous opportunity to resist the devil
and being frustrated with the weather and crazy things happening.
And then on top of it, not only is the weather bad, but the traffic is bad.
Why are people out today? Go home.
Get out of my way.
I'll be honest.
I'm trying to grow in my consecration.
It's the big thing God's dealing with me about lately.
I'll spare my soul.
I'm believing for big things, but then I get in traffic
and I find myself still, you know,
Get out of my way, you bozo.
Who taught you how to drive?
Don't you know what the speed limit is?
I got to take a step back and lower my repunch.
I'm so sorry I let my tongue get loose.
Now, they can't hear me.
But God can hear me.
I'm in a hurry even when I'm not in a hurry.
I learned how to drive in Chicago, guys.
You're always in a hurry in Chicago.
And it's taken me all these years
and I'm still learning not to have my foot on that pedal.
So, I'm a strategic driver.
You know, you're always three lights ahead in your mind.
I see where the trucks are. I see who's clogging the lane.
And I'm not going to wait until I get up there to decide which lane to be in.
You know, I'm moving around and coercing the situation
because I don't have time for this.
You know, you may... I don't even swear.
But you still should be calling somebody a name, you know.
I guess that dates me.
Anybody watch the Bozo show?
That was the world's greatest show.
When you were a kid, nothing was fast-moving back then.
So, if you try to watch the original one, young people, you'll be bored.
But we would love to watch them throw those buckets in the balls.
The balls in the bucket.
Now you're really confused.
And you couldn't wait to see what cries they were going to have.
You know, wishing that you could win it all.
Well, anyway.
I didn't think it was going to go this direction.
Your tongue is a mighty force.
And if you can't control it in traffic,
you're going to be in trouble
when you need to use it for the things of God.
Now, I'm not telling you this happens to me every day.
It doesn't happen every day.
I'm just telling you that it's an area that sometimes I shock myself that I haven't mastered it.
Because I think, surely I've mastered this.
Now, I don't get angry like road rage.
I would never try to get on someone's tail and pick a fight.
I let everything just roll off me quickly.
If I ever get in a dispute with anybody, I'm over it in 10 minutes.
Some people that don't get over things easily, I can't identify with that.
I just feel like saying, get over it.
That was 10 minutes ago. We're in a new time era.
But, it's still, because I've grown all these years spiritually,
it's not acceptable to God for me to exercise a lack of patience in traffic
and then not be mindful of what's coming out of my mouth in that situation.
But yet, when I need something from God,
your faith won't work like it should.
Because you weren't minding your manners in traffic.
Amen.
Because really, I don't even talk to my family that way.
Just to the ones that can't hear it.
So, we have to be careful about what we're saying.
We've got to master this thing called the tongue.
And, there are some situations in our lives that until you're ready
to move that situation out of your life, it's going to stay planted.
Amen.
Right where it's at.
It could be a disease, a pain in your body, arthritis.
Which, by the way, did anybody receive a healing on Sunday during Communion?
It could be, you know, a financial situation.
It could be a relationship.
Whatever it is, whatever the devil's trying to do,
you have to make a decision.
This can't stay planted here.
This doesn't belong to me.
You know, let's just quickly look at Colossians.
This just came up in my spirit here.
Colossians, when I pray this prayer daily,
and I pray it for you as well as me.
In Colossians Chapter 1, Paul is praying this prayer.
Of course, we pray this.
And then when you get to Verse 11,
strengthened with all might according to his glorious power,
filled with all patient endurance and joy,
giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers
in the inheritance of the saints in the light.
Look at Verse 13.
He has delivered us from the power of darkness.
And he conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
in whom we have redemption through His blood.
So, we've been delivered from the power of darkness.
That means we've been delivered from every bit of trouble we're talking about tonight.
According to God, we're already delivered from it.
It's a done deal.
But we have to put our foot down on the devil illegally
trying to make it a reality in our lives.
And if he comes and tries to plant something and you allow it to stay,
it will stay.
Amen.
As Pastor Nancy always says,
God will let you have everything you're okay with.
Because he really can't do anything about it.
And so many of us are willing to survive with things
instead of deal with them like we should.
I was thinking about how this is not the way to parent.
But you'll see somebody with a whining child.
They're whining and whining and whining and whining.
And it goes ah, and ah, and ah, and ah, and ah.
And then finally, when they're tired of dealing with the whining,
they put their foot down on it and stop it.
But it's not done the right way.
Because there shouldn't be whining going on and on and on that long to begin with.
But in the same way, you shouldn't be putting up with trouble in your life
and putting up with it and putting up with it and putting up with it.
But there does come a point, and I know because I do tend to have a long fuse,
that there have been plenty of times when I put up with things way too long
with my kids when they were young.
And then by the time you deal with it, you're out of control.
And so it's the same thing, though.
Here's the point I'm trying to make.
When you get tired of that mountain whining at you and whining at you
and whining at you and whining at you,
you've got to put your foot down and say,
enough, I'm not having this anymore.
And if you don't ever get to that point,
you're going to just keep having it whining at you and whining at you,
and it's going to be like a noose around your neck.
And all the while, Jesus delivers you from that very pain.
So the first step in moving your mountain is really the quality decision.
And you've got to make a quality decision to speak the Word of God
and then stand your ground until you see the answer.
And no matter what you feel and no matter what the devil says,
you answer him back.
And sometimes if you've let something stay a long time,
it's going to not just disappear instantly.
So you're going to have to have that tenacity
that you're going to still say what God says until it changes.
But making that quality decision is important because I guarantee
Remember Pastor Nancy taught along these lines, and this was so good,
that a child that you handed your authority over to,
the longer that's gone on for,
then when you finally decide you're going to turn it around,
you can't just instantly turn that around,
especially with a teenager.
So the devil's the same way.
The longer he's been allowed to stay in a situation in your life,
then when you decide, I'm putting my foot down on this,
he's going to be like a rebellious teenager.
And he's not going to just take off right away without pitching a fit.
And so you're going to have to expect hiccups and a flare-up
or some kind of resistance.
And if you're not prepared for that, you won't make it.
So you've got to have that quality decision
and get yourself built up spiritually, then take your stand.
If you try to take your stand and you're not built up, you'll fail.
You'll fail. You've got to build up on the word of faith,
build up on the scriptures that will help you overcome that situation.
There's so many different things we could talk about tonight.
I was thinking, and I've used this illustration in the past,
about if you ever wanted to plant a garden in your yard.
But let's say, because sometimes with new construction,
they'll move a bunch of dirt,
and then there'll be this big old hill of dirt in the backyard.
And if you wanted to go out there and plant something,
how many know you can't just plant in that big old hill of dirt?
So it's kind of like a mini mountain.
How are you going to move it?
I mean, you can hire landscapers to come and move it with bulldozers.
But if you wanted to move it, let's say, with wheelbarrows,
it would take some time, right?
You'd build a wheelbarrow and tow it over to the side and dump it.
Wheel it back and fill it up, bring it to the side and dump it.
But until that dirt's moved out of the way,
you're not going to have a vegetable garden there.
You might be able to plant a tree out in the hill.
You're not going to have a vegetable garden.
Well, it's the same thing in our lives.
These mountains, they get in our way,
and they prevent us from planting and reaping a harvest in our lives.
And so we want it out, out of the way.
We want weeds out of the way.
Weeds are distractions,
things that can keep the work from producing in our lives
have to be moved out of the way.
Glory to God.
Thank you, Jesus.
When we move this dirt, spiritually speaking,
we move it with our mouth. Amen?
Thank you, Jesus.
Let's turn to Luke chapter 17.
How many lost power today?
How many still have no power?
In the name of Jesus, we speak power to your household.
It makes you appreciate power, doesn't it?
When you don't have it on these human days.
Luke chapter 17 and verse 5.
Well, the whole context of Luke 17 is Jesus is saying,
if someone sins against you seven times in a day,
and seven times in a day returns to you saying,
I repent, you shall forgive them.
And the apostle said to the Lord, increase our faith.
Yeah, I guess, because this is a new concept for them, right?
And of course, that would be true for any of us.
If somebody did the same thing to you seven times in one day,
they would take faith.
Forgive them every time.
So what was Jesus' response to that?
He said, if you have faith as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mulberry tree,
be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the seed,
and it would obey you.
Glory to God, it would obey you.
So it's not just mountains that he used as illustrations, right?
He said, if you have faith as a mustard seed.
Listen, some people say,
it's the size of the seed that's important in the scripture,
because how many know mustard seeds are tiny?
So all you need is a little tiny bit of faith.
Well, there's some truth in that.
But really, what I see this as,
is you just have faith as a seed.
A seed has to be planted in order to produce.
So that's how faith works.
You have to get the seed in the ground.
You've got to get God's Word in your heart.
And once it's in there, you have to water it.
And you have to protect it and tend to it.
And we do that by saying it.
By saying it.
And eventually, that seed will produce.
Glory to God.
Hallelujah.
So Jesus said,
he shall have whatsoever he says, in Mark 11, 23.
We can say it this way.
He shall have the words he speaks.
What are you saying out of your mouth?
I'm entitling this message,
and I think I've used this title in the past,
Move It With Your Mouth.
Every time I think about moving things with your mouth,
I think of Sister Wanda Casper.
She had this little red hot rod,
and she too needed to work on her mouth.
In traffic.
Yeah.
Move it, plug.
That was Wanda's name when she'd get in traffic.
You can have the words that you speak,
but we want the words that we speak
to actually produce something positive.
Like moving mountains out of our way.
Like moving proper things into our lives.
Just a few things I want to read to you
as a way of remembrance.
Ecclesiastes chapter 8, verse 4 says,
Where the word of the king is, there is power.
You might think, well that's wonderful.
If I was a king, then I could have great power in my words.
But, in Revelation chapter 1,
we find out that we are kings.
Because in verse 6 it says,
Jesus has made us kings and priests
to his God and Father.
To him be glory and dominion
forever and ever.
In Proverbs chapter 18, verse 21 it says,
Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.
So, you know, it's important
that we're watching what we say.
Now let's go to James chapter 1.
James chapter 1, we're going to look at
just a couple more scriptures.
This is what you call a refresher course.
In James chapter...
Chapter 3, verse 1.
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers,
knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.
Why? Because teachers talk more.
And that's the truth.
For we all stumble in many things.
If anyone does not stumble in word,
he is a perfect man.
That means mature, a mature man.
Able also to bridle the whole body.
Indeed, we put bits in horses' mouths
that they may obey us,
and we trim their whole body.
And that's so amazing when you think about it,
the strength of a horse.
You know, when Caitlin had a horse
and she went off to Bible school,
and I had to take care of that horse for a while.
Lord Jesus.
We'd not want to be out there with a video camera.
One day, they had these horses out at pasture,
so you had to go get your horse.
That was step one.
And so you go out there with your lead rope,
and it's not just your horse,
there's dozens of horses.
And something I didn't know, but I learned the hard way,
if you go to open that gate,
all the horses come converging on you.
And literally, it was only the Lord
that I didn't get crushed or hurt badly.
And if I would have known better,
you need to take that lead rope,
and you need to do, yeah, yeah, yeah,
and get them out of the way.
But I didn't know that, so I'm just like,
being backed up.
But I remember getting that horse,
and you have to tack her up and clean her and all that,
and try to get on that horse and ride with her.
Oh my gosh.
Technically, that bit is supposed to direct
the direction of the horse.
You know, you'd be surprised,
if all you ever did was trail ride
with a bunch of horses,
with your noses in each other's ears,
you don't know anything about horseback riding.
Because those horses really aren't doing
what you tell them to do.
Because with a properly trained horse,
you just barely have to move the rein,
it's just a little here or there,
and they're trained properly,
and they know exactly which way to go.
And the reason is, that bit,
they're very sensitive in their mouths.
But a horse that's been tugged on
by a gazillion different people,
trying to pretend they know what they're doing,
and trail rides,
they become desensitized,
and they're stubborn,
and they're going to do what they want to do.
Well, we had a retired racehorse that we rescued,
and she was already stubborn to begin with.
Stubborn for Caitlin,
but at least Caitlin learned how to ride her properly.
And I'd be trying to exercise that horse,
and it didn't matter what I did.
I'd try to go forward, she'd try to go backwards.
I'd try to go right, she'd try to go left.
But technically, when you think about it,
a horse that size, thousands of pounds,
and they can be directed with a tiny little metal bit
in their mouth.
That's pretty amazing.
You ever see those movies where they would
try to rope a wild horse?
That's how it was done in the United States
before they grew up.
And then they'd try to get those horses tame.
All they had to do was get something in that mouth,
and now all of a sudden,
not that they hadn't trained right away,
but they could have some control.
So it's amazing how that little bit
controlled that huge horse.
Well, in the same way, it says here,
look at the ships.
Although they're so large and driven by fierce winds,
they're turned by a very small rudder
wherever the pilot desires.
And really, if you look at those pleasure boats
or those cruise ships are huge,
but the size of the rudder is so small
compared to the size of that ship.
Well, James is saying,
this is what the tongue is like.
The tongue is a little tiny member
inside of this big body.
Yes.
Thank you.
So even so, the tongue is a little member
and boasts great things.
See how great a horse a little fire kindles?
Yes.
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity.
The tongue is so set among our members
that it defiles the whole body
and sets on fire the course of nature,
and it is set on fire by hell.
Think about the day we live in.
Now, in the United States of America,
the reason we had decency and morality
for so long is because it was Jesus-centered.
And even when it was Jesus-centered,
there's always been people
that use their mouth in a foul manner,
but not on the news,
not on everyday television,
not when you have social media.
Every time you turn around,
someone's using the F-word,
and now they have t-shirts with the F-word,
like, oh, this is just everyday talk.
Well, how many know?
Because the tongue is set on fire by hell.
People sometimes think you're being extreme
when you preach this,
but I want you to know,
this is not extreme.
This is completely the truth.
The devil wants your tongue.
Yeah.
He wants your tongue.
He's got control of the tongues
of most of the world,
and most of the Christian world,
unfortunately.
Because every time you talk against the Word,
you've given the devil your tongue.
So, yeah, the tongue's set on fire by hell,
and this is a serious topic
because God's created us
so that what we believe in our heart
and say with our mouth comes to pass.
Remember how Pastor Nancy was teaching
the devil doesn't have authority of his own,
so he's trying to get you
to use your authority against you.
This is how he does it.
If you can believe something
against the Word in your heart
and say it out of your mouth,
you've just taken your authority,
and you've created a demonic situation
in your life that shouldn't be there.
Praise the Lord.
For every kind of beast and bird
and reptile and creature of the sea
is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.
But no man can tame the tongue,
and that's the truth.
No man in his natural ability
can tame the tongue.
It's an unruly evil
full of deadly poison.
With it we bless our God and Father,
and with it we curse men
who block traffic.
I'm sorry, I didn't say that.
Who have been made a similitude with God.
Glory.
Out of the same mouth receive blessing
and cursing.
These things ought not to be so.
Does a spring send forth fresh water
and bitter from the same opening?
And can a fig tree, my brethren,
bear olives,
or a grapevine bear figs?
Thus no spring yields both salt water
and fresh at the same time.
So we're seeing here
a very important truth about the tongue.
No man can tame it, but
the Holy Ghost can.
And the beauty
of being given this
supernatural prayer language
where we can pray with other tongues
is we can control the tongue
by the Holy Spirit.
And the more time you spend
praying in other tongues,
the more you will control your tongue
when you have to speak in your understanding.
And so we have help.
We have the help of the Spirit.
If all you want to do is
just speak the Word of God, that's fine,
but you're going to be limited.
That's why we've been given this
wonderful gift, the gift of the Holy Spirit.
And as we spend time praying
in the Spirit, we build ourselves up,
we edify ourselves in our most holy faith.
And now it becomes easier
to say the right thing out of your mouth
when you need to.
Because your tongue's hooked up to your Spirit
and not to your mind.
Amen.
So, it's so important that we get
our tongue under control through this era.
And,
you know, our life,
think about it this way, our life is the product
of our words. Our children are the
product of our words. Our health
is the product of our words.
Our finances are the product
of our words. Words will make us
a success or words will make
us a failure.
Words will heal us or make us sick.
You know, the story
again is worth reiterating quickly where
the man, when he was a
teenager, just said out of the blue,
I'll never live to see the age of 40.
And when he was 39, he fell
into a coma.
And Brother Hagin was going to go pray for him
and the Lord said, you can't pray for him.
Things have been set in motion that cannot
be reversed at this time.
Well, they couldn't be reversed because
he's in a coma and he's the only one that can reverse it.
But he spoke
those words and set something in motion
and
it was too late to change it.
Yeah, that's true. His brother
who didn't know him before, he pastors in Illinois.
But the thing is,
it's important what we
say because they can heal us or they can
kill us.
Amen. That's why
one of the things I notice that Bill tries
to do, sometimes
lyrics from songs from the past.
I mean, I'm completely not even
thinking about it and all of a sudden
I hear it.
And I have to contradict it
and speak against those things.
Or maybe sometimes you'll be in a store and you'll hear
something and you're not even really paying attention
and subconsciously you hear it
and all those words keep coming up.
You know,
I never realized
before I got sick how entrenched
we were in death.
You know,
every album we owned,
the songs that I loved and listened to over
and over and over again
and then maybe years later
you hear it again and you realize that's what I
listened to over and over again.
Thank God I got delivered because if I would have
kept listening to that and kept singing
those lyrics,
it will work against you.
And so that's why music
is so important that we choose to listen
to the right kind of music.
It's not that God's trying
to rob us of fun.
Words bless us or words curse us.
Words move mountains
out of your life and blessings into
your life.
And then you've got to learn to make your words
work for you.
In closing, I'm just going to read Romans
10-10. It says,
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness,
and with the mouth
confession is made
unto salvation.
So whatever it is
that needs salvation in your life,
you have to
believe what the word says about it in your heart,
you speak God's word out of your
mouth, and you know, once it changes
don't stop there.
Make it a continual faith statement
as long as you're on the planet because it will
try to come back. The devil
always tries to come back if he sees an
opportunity, and when
he sees an opportunity, what he's actually
seeing is you letting your guard down.
So stay
strong. Let's stand
up. Thank you, Father.
We're getting ready
for this era.
Pastor Nancy in her
book on the double portion anointing,
one of the revelations
that Jesus gave her that time in Russia
was do not misspeak
under the anointing
particularly, but don't misspeak.
Let your words be accurate and truthful
because
that has everything to do with how much power
you lock in when you
power God.
I'm not going to say
a lot.
One thing
I want to say, if you're married,
give your spouse
permission
to,
when you say something negative,
you know,
you need
to be in agreement
where if the person says something
negative, and if she says something
negative, it's negative
or not according to the word,
then I'm going to say, like, okay,
I'm in agreement with you, that's what your
confession is, I believe every word of it.
Wait, no, no, no, no, I don't want that.
Give your spouse
the work
you have as spouse. Okay, give one of your friends.
If you have a close friend,
give somebody.
No, I don't mean to be like that.
No, I mean, seriously.
Some people, the problem
is they don't, some people's problem
is they don't have anybody
they can speak into their life.
That's a huge problem. There's some preachers
who are in that boat.
They're preachers, they're pastors, they're telling everyone else
what to do. They don't have anyone speaking into their life.
It doesn't work.
I don't need somebody.
Well, when you're married,
you're partners,
and about the
confession of all that,
it's a good thing because you want,
sometimes we just say things,
and we want, if someone,
we don't normally say much
negative things, you know, but if I
say something or she says
something, we have permission
to say,
you know, you shouldn't say that,
or you want me to agree with you on that?
Well, no, we don't want to agree with that.
But then we better stop saying it.
Because if we don't
stop saying it, we're putting,
we're saying it and
hearing it, we're putting it inside of us.
Now, let me just say one other thing
along those lines, because you've all probably
experienced this, that the temptation to say
something negative is very strong
because there's an influence that
comes with it. It's a demonic
anointing, and that
anointing is there to help
you cave to that
and say those things. And so
you have to be aware of that. It's not always easy.
But as soon as
you say what God says about it, now God's
anointing comes on the scene.
And it counteracts what the devil's
trying to do.
Amen.
Alright.
I release you early before
any more storms come.
We love you, and we'll see you Sunday.
There you go.
