hello my friend welcome to this new watercolor tutorial I've seen many
watercolor beginners they they just wanted to see their progress in
watercolor because they are spending so much of time and that's exactly I wanted
to bring and I wanted to bring a very quick understanding to make things
easier watercolor is easy and after you apply some of the techniques after you
practice in a certain way you will definitely see watercolor your watercolor
is actually improving the classic example I can just take this quick
sketch I just did it and the reason I just made this a sketch in the very
random paper it's a notebook this is from my kid drawing book it's not a
fancy not at all it's a very random paper drawing paper it's a novel paper
which I've taken from my kid school book and I'm going to show you if you
apply if your if your mindset is right direction everything is good watercolor
is not so complicated what you think it's very easy and after you learn
certain technique certain practice you will see a tremendous growth in your
watercolor learning so this is exactly I'm just trying I will you will see in
this tutorial before you start this I would request you to please subscribe my
channel and click on the bell icon I'm also offering you a very interesting
loose watercolor technique that will help you to learn and understand how to
create a loose watercolor artwork so check that out the link I've given in
the description I'm sure you will you're going to enjoy this lesson so don't miss
that now coming back to this particular practice you have to sketch the very
first thing you have to sketch and this is where I'm seeing a lot of lagging in
many watercolor beginners because they just want to escape this now even if you
just try something like this and now you'll be saying oh it's already drawn
I mean how can how can we draw something like this I have taken this
again this paper which is again from my kid drawing book you can just do
something very straightforward you can just do sketches like this like this you
don't need to be very precisely doing everything neat and clean just do
something like this which will help you to understand the light and depth even
if you in art college and all you will be asked to paint and draw I mean the
draw especially the pencil strokes for almost like a couple of years and that's
exactly brings the basic of this the reason I'm just telling you to do
something like this because if you wanted to see the growth in your
watercolor journey then I think this is a very mandatory step you will be taking
all you have to do is just do certain seeds what is the seeds you have the
seeds of this the depth and the light the seeds in all of these areas right
and the transparency of this lamp the softness the depth this is exactly what
you need in watercolor what you see here is this
this contrast these are something this stokes these are the stokes this is what
you will be required in watercolor when you when you apply basically when you
apply the color into your paper now see this is a very basic sketch right how
many times honestly you tell me if you are if you are trying to learn watercolor
tell me how many times you you practice this sincerely you ask yourself don't
tell me you ask yourself am I doing this am I doing certain kind of practice in a
regular basis I see what it does is once you do this let's do the force of
this these stokes are so important my friend I see this lights you can use
eraser when you can erase and get some highlight here you can have some depth
more that light is supposed it which is coming from this direction then this
does the right and the seeds goes here sorry the seeds goes here this direction
see this is the learning these are the the learning you will immediately get to
know okay where this seeds has to go and which direction I was just doing in
this way right the light is coming from this side that's why you see there's a
lot of light in that direction right so if you do something like this right how
much time it took you just take five minute this is your base this is your
base of everything your your watercolor is completely depend and how many
whatever the number of time you wanted to draw it because see there is a gap
here so you need to have a some more gap here so you need to have proper sketch
something like this do something like this in a regular basis that's exactly
this is your first approach and this is basically helping you this will help you
to make watercolor looks very easy now you'll be asking okay so what this is
the the first step now what should I do how I convert this in a watercolor all
right so now what you will do is now this let me just keep in this way what
you see here just I don't want you to take several color from here take only
one color choose one color I'll probably I'll take let me see
maybe I'll mix this two color make it a little darker because I don't have a
black color otherwise we can use it I'm making this the darker pigment okay I'm
just making a lot more darker pigment using ultramarine blue and burnt sienna
all right now what happened is I will just take this particular color most it
looks like a sepia and I will use I'll apply this learning okay I'll just take
this this one here we have this learning
possibly the light is coming from that direction so I'm just taking a lot of
water and making things here and here we have a little lighter pigment here
it's a gloss and now I'll use this one like this
okay very quickly you really don't need to have a lot of time doing something
like this okay and I just applied it here
light something like this and now here we have
there's a bench sort of things and we also have
here maybe a couple of fruit maybe apple and since we are using the only one color
so we'll use that same color here for both the places
here we have this picture frame so basically you are making a composition
okay and this might be the cloth and it's bold
all right so now this is your first layer just assume that this is your not
assume that this is this is basically your first layer how much time it took
five minute sketching and two minute or three minute drawing six seven minute
you're you're done with your first layer including sketches like how many times
you do something like this tell me honestly how many times are you spending
on I mean one hour doing very consciously driven things like that no
you don't need that much you have this much of time I mean until until unless
you really want to make that you will reach to that level but at this moment
since you are learning you have to stick this okay now let's don't work anything
until it's not right let it dry okay now you see the paper is dried and this
is the time when you can go for this the second layer did you say that the
second stokes I made right let's go for a second stoke so your the second layer
is your the stokes which you have applied in the sketch so this time you
need to make it a little bit darker than this what we have already done it
I hope you are able to see my screen so this lamp has got some depth here and
there I'm just trying to make things a little
more darker colors are same I'm not changing the color so wherever it's
required I'm just applying the depth here and there
the upper part of this lamp and now we have
this section some bit of work here and this the second seeds here goes
something like this now you see the difference how it is
coming your first layer and the second layer it comes like this right so
and this has some
now the same thing it goes here into this section all I'm just trying to do
here is playing with the darker pigment and the light contrast generating the
contrast okay here we have bigger patches here and
there don't don't ever scared doing something like this some big patches
like something like this because that's basically the real pleasure of water
and if you just start doing this if you start learning all that you will see the
real growth is basically started happening and you just if you start
doing something like this in regular basis imagine what is going to happen
okay it will just change the way you have been struggling with some of the
things that everything is going to be changed okay everything is going to
change and don't be I mean whatever I'm just making it don't try to make things
beautiful and all that that's not I'm even I'm just doing I can do much
better than this what I've just done but I don't I don't have intent I have an
intent to tell you how to practice that brings changes that brings real learning
you right so see these patches again it goes here because this side will be much
darker here because this side is something
comes here these are maybe little darker pigment here okay now come to this
flower will reach will come here later or else we'll just make some work here
this you know one I mean and I'm using I'm not even changing the brush
basically it's the same yeah patches in there now see the how things are
actually coming in right it started building now some patches here in this
section right here this apple some of the patch here and there that's all it's
all about how you are applying the the right amount of water and here we've got
the another apple here in this section this is a great way I mean if you I'm
telling you if you start doing something like this you will see you'll
see like things are changing things are real changes are happening in your
watercolor journey let's make this color a little darker here
you need some more depth though we are still in second layer but things are
basically it's coming out the texture of this apple you see it's a very random
approach do you see my hand is allowing me to stop no I'm just working I'm just
working I'm just enjoying the process whatever it comes because I see many
many beginners basically when they apply the color they very consciously apply
something like this shouldn't get I mean there shouldn't be any problem there
shouldn't I should not do any mistake so all that things are actually stopping
you and that's the reason I've just taken this paper my friend if I would
have spent $20 paper and then I would have really thought about it no I would
not spend my I would not ruin my paper I have invested into it and I'm not
going to make any mistake I'm going to spend my time I'm going to make this
beautiful and that mindset is basically ruining your experience okay and I'm not
saying I'm not against those paper or good materials I'm not you should but
for the practice purpose you should have and I'm inviting all the
manufacturers as well because this is my biggest problem I see for the
practice purpose it's really it's really not worth to spending hundreds of
dollar for the paper there should be a proper paper where I can I can freely
paint anything or else I'll be relying on such paper which is not meant for
watercolor I'm using it this drawing paper which is still good for my
practice but this is attention to all the manufacturers all the companies to
give attention to this to the paper create a paper for practice work alright
not everyone is making a gallery artwork okay let's come back to this let's make
some more possibly now you just think about we are making the final round
which is third layer though it's not dried I would suggest you not to work
until it's not dried but I see there is a something is already dried and I'll
just try to make a very some somewhere here and there I'll just make some some
highlight okay so that's my that's my intent here to make things a little
highlight on that surface and all right so make little more patches here and
there so this gives you a very clear picture all right so now you see how
something if you just imagine that if you start creating like this okay what
is going to happen can you imagine that I'm telling you from my own experience
that if you start doing something like this you will see tremendous growth from
here from this do sketches come back to this apply these learning apply this
learning to your to your painting the learning you happening from here the
light composition right so this composition is so important recently I
just made this composition for my patreon members you can see more but now
I see this is the composition I've just made for my patreon members and I'm
inviting you I'm inviting all of you to come and join the it's not about the
tutorial it's not about you know the overall journey it's about how you are
connecting with your similar mindset of people thousands of people there as my
members and they are learning they are connecting they're sharing there they
are they're inviting there's a lot many activities going in my forum and I'm
inviting all of you to come and join me support me there with a just a minimal
membership fee and even if you don't want to support or even if you don't
willing to be there you just watch this what's this process and learn from there
and come back to my forum and you can upload your artwork and you get your
feedback the people will see will because see when you are in a you know
in that space where you are trying to improve your watercolor there is a
thousands of people have a similar mindset and they're in the same journey
and it's very important for you to join that group join that you know such kind
of a forum where you are seeing lots of people are basically continuing with
their journey so check that out link I've given and and you'll see some some
real learning happening in your watercolor journey alright so I hope
this particular artwork has given you some interesting learning let me know
what do you think of this as I said this is this kind of a learning is something
takes your watercolor forward and if you believe that watercolor is is very tough
and unforgiving then I don't agree with you okay it's just that you're not giving
your diligent effort that's all it is very forget you know it's a very easy a
very interesting medium I know a lot of many people say it's very easier than do
but it's not true I was also in the same mindset it's just a mindset and a
certain practice the behavior you all you need to change that and look at this
medium as a first price perspective right so thank you so much I'll be
coming with a new video very soon till then take care and enjoy
