Hello everyone, welcome back to my channel. This is Painting Hyun. Today we are going to paint
beautiful flowers together, azalea. It will be a simple and relaxed painting,
so take your time and enjoy the process with me. Let's start with a light sketch.
I'm using a H pencil. You'd better use a lighter pencil. First, gently draw the basic shapes
of the flower's azalea. Keep your lines soft and loose. There's no need to be perfect.
We just need a simple guide for painting. Try not to press too hard with your pencil.
Light lines are easier to adjust later. Today I will draw two large azaleas flowers,
one small bud and a few leaves. One flower face, the upper left, another to the right side,
and with a small bud in between the flowers. This creates a balanced triangle
composition. Small buds here. Take your time here. No rush. Just a free, feel-free draw.
Now let's begin painting. Start with a very light off-white for the first large flower.
Just touch the flower petals with a very light color, and then mix a very light wash.
Just water. Put in the petals, and then I'm using a yellow. Put in the oprah.
Then blend the colors gently and let them gradually fade into the lighter tones.
So I did, I added a light yellow on the center. Blend gently and let the colors soften.
Now let's build up the color. Mix oprah and bright violet to create a mid-tone.
Then add it to the edges of the petals. Then gently blend it inward and blend nicely.
While the paper is still wet, drop in a deep tone. Let the colors blend naturally. Don't overwork it.
Now using a soft light blue, gently extend the edges of the petals. Keep the shape
loose and not too defined, so they feel more open and natural. Right? With a light blue and plenty
of water, gently enlarge the petals' shapes. This helps the flower feel more loose and free,
rather than something that feels stiff and fixed. Now I'm using a stronger color that I mixed
magenta and oprah. Then I will mix a bit of ultramarine deep. Then add the base of the petals
and the stamens. When the paper is still a little drier, we will come back and refine the details
through stamens and the veins. Just I'm using a tip of the brush. Add a light yellow to the
petals again. Then blend nicely. Now let's move on to the second flower.
Start with a very light quinacridone magenta wash and a ultramarine deep wash. This is a ultramarine
deep. Put on the other petals. Then gently blend the ultramarine deep into the magenta.
Keep it balanced with the other flowers. The process is the same for each flower. Start
with a light wash. Then slowly build up the color from medium to darker tones.
And finally add a few details. Let's paint the bud and the surrounding area with a soft
light blue wash. Then add a stronger magenta to the top of the bud. Keep it simple and soft.
Just touch the top of the bud area. Just a few touches. That's enough. Switch the brush.
I mixed the ultramarine deep and the magenta. Let's go back to the first flower. Using a dark
magenta and blue, add the stamens and main veins. Then deepen the center. Now I'm using a fine
pointed round Winsor & Newton brush number six. Paint delicate lines. For the stamens and the
veins, they don't need too much water. And just a dry brush and very strong, thin paint,
thin colors. When you draw the stamens and veins, don't push too much. Just a light brush.
Draw the light brush strokes. Look at my brush stroke. My stroke is very light.
Just touch, touch, very light touch. That's enough. Okay, now it's time to paint the stems.
First use the same colors from the flower to draw thin stems. Then later we will add a more
greenish tone and or a purple tone freely. Now I'm using a purple, a flower color.
I mixed ultramarine deep and a light sap green. For the background, using a soft light green
and blue, gently extend the edges of the leaves and petals. Keep the shapes loose and not too
defined. Okay, so they feel more open and natural. This will make the painting feel more relaxed
and free. As you paint, take your time and enjoy the process. Just enjoy the process
and let the painting tell its own quiet story. Here is the small bud or small
leaves. Here and there you can make your own story. This color is a very strong color. I mixed
sap green and ultramarine deep. Just a light, light touch. That's enough. Don't push the brush
on the paper. Let's add some splatters. Use magenta, blue, and a little of the opera.
Just a few drops to bring in rush to the painting. Feel free to do it your own way. Okay,
then add a few final details in area that feels a bit empty. Now our painting is almost
finished. I hope this painting brought you happiness and joy while you are painting.
Okay, thank you for painting with me. See you in the next video. Bye.
