Today we are throwing a three pound bowling ball that you can't even find inside of a bowling
alley and we're going to throw it down the lane one v one versus my cameraman which you guys have
never seen before. So let's get into our three-part challenge with this three pound bowling ball.
First one that we're going to do I'm going to throw a shot right now if I get nine
and he gets eight I win a point. Do you want me to go first or second?
You can go first. Stick with tradition. Stick with tradition.
That's a split. Technically it's a split.
The only bad part about this video is we have to go down there reset the pins and
get the ball manually every shot. If I make it it counts as 10 which is basically a guaranteed victory.
What cracks me up more than anything is it's just silent when it hits the lane.
When it hits the lane it's silent when it hits the pins it's silent.
So I expect to hear the sound of the bowling ball and then you just hear
and it's cracking me up. My name is Matt Helmick. I'm the guy behind the camera
95% of the time. Yeah maybe more. I do 95% of the editing. We got some guys helping out here and
there. Much more comfortable behind the camera than I am in front of the camera. That doesn't
take away from your athleticism though. We'll see. We'll see about that. My first instinct is to be
careful because it feels so foreign but then I also want to chuck it down there. Yeah I said just
chuck it. All right. You guys have established that's not a split. I'm up 1-0. Huge win. I think
got the upper hand. I'm a professional. I think I got the upper hand. I'm a professional. I tried
to hook it. That was not a good idea. You just got to keep it on the lane. I tried to hook it a little
bit. I was like what if I just hook it just a little bit. I'm back to the Crocs because uh
there's not really a whole lot of finesse involved in this. To be honest I can't even see him. Just my
black socks. Oh it counts. That is some great eggs right there. Some great abs.
From like oh it's going in the gutter. You could almost throw this thing overhand. I have to do
that for a later competition. That's pretty good and it's a split. Next time we film we need a
volunteer but we'll pay you like 15 bucks just to sit back there for an hour and just click click
grab the ball throw it back to us. It helps out a lot. I'm not that accurate. I'm just going to
try and hit the two pins on the break. That was almost accidental greatness. That was close. Seven
is solid. I think if you get seven every time you're going to route me handily. I tried to
give the second one just a little bit. You can't. No. You can't. Move left here and just chuck it.
Also seven. Also split. That was almost the same shot. What the hell is that?
You see it bounce just dead right.
It's almost like you've got to play the off the wall shot where your ball hits the head pin
bounces right into the sidewall and then the ball actually comes back on the deck.
You know why I like this ball? I can finally loft it like a professional. Left side of the
six. It's pretty much a guaranteed make because the ball is not going backwards.
You missed a tiny bit. You can't. No. Got a couple shots under our belt.
It's one one. This one's going to be worth two.
It's a little aggressive with the loft. I didn't know if we'd see a strike today dude.
I didn't have any time to celebrate. I was just in so much awe. Also if you look at the lane
pattern there are just blotches of where the ball has been bouncing. Have you seen it on the way
back? No. Slowly ruining league play here at Derby Bowl. Your strategy was basically just
skip the cutoff man and one hop it into the pins. Yes. Yes that was my strategy.
Do you have a split? I make you nervous with that one? No because I thought mine was going to skip
into the masking unit so no. You should have ordered two of these so I could miss it with
two balls like you do on every video. Got it. Got it. Gave it a run. I have a healthy lead right now.
There's no way. There's no way. All I'm saying is literally 10 in the pit too. Look at how
many pins are back there. Those two shots you struck on could not have been more different.
You laid that one down so nice. That's one of the best doubles in the history of the channel.
Absolutely one of the best doubles in the history of this channel. Using a three pound like rubber
kid's toy. Packy's like Matt you should come out of retirement and do this video with me.
Could be fun. And here he is doubling with a three pound ball. I gotta strike to not make it four to
one right? Yeah. Dude seven's pretty good all right? No chance. Let me go get my turkey. I feel like
he's gonna be amazing at our second challenge where we throw the ball overhand so I have to
get the early confidence boost right now. I have to. The ball just disappeared.
I think it flew out. You think it went up and out? Yeah. For all of you mechanics out there
what do you call that? Here's what we're doing. We're not sure if this is going to make it back
for the ball return. Come back here. Turn the lane on. Reset it. And then we turn the lane back off
just to make sure it doesn't cycle through and send the ball back to us underground. No chance.
I do want to give a quick shout out to Let's Roll Derby for letting us mess around all the time.
Just letting us come here and bring all this cool content to you guys. Eight to stay alive in contest
numero uno. I'm still going with the lofting strategy. I think it's a good strategy.
That's my best shot of the game. Staying alive. Four to two. Eight was good. Mixed them up. Threw
a good shot. Could have been a triple easily. Matt also has figured it out a little bit so
we got to get him now. Let's go. Put me out of my misery. I need to put you out of your misery.
Wow. That's a huge break. Nine. That's a huge break. Nine. There's six pins on the deck.
Listen, I threw a strike where there was none on the deck, all right?
Eight. What is the split? You can make it. I'll let you leave the pin on the deck if you want.
This gets exponentially easier with that pin on the deck. Yeah. You just got to hit that pin.
The top part of the pin? I think so. I think so too. Oh, hook. To be fair, I thought you could
have made it that way as well. Ball going right, pin spinning left. Yeah, but I just told the entire
world that I was aiming for the top part of the pin. Our second competition, we're going to go
shot put style, overhand throws only, and instead of a race to three frames, we're just going to do
three shots, total pins. You want to go first or second? I'll go first. This is intimidating. This
is just the fact that I'm throwing something overhand down a bowling lane. It makes you nervous.
Every fiber of my being is like, please be careful. Every dad in my body tells me not to. Yeah,
this is exactly what I would yell at my kid for doing. I would take your thumb out. I would go
thumb out for sure. I feel like I lose all control. I'm going to shot put it.
All right, we'll see your shot put method. Do you throw a baseball right-handed? No,
I throw it left-handed. It's been a while since we've had a catch. I just got to keep it on the
lane here. Dude, I think even one of us gets pins. It's a winner. Through one frame, zero,
zero. Much like your bowling style, you chose not to use your thumb, right? I chose not to use my
thumb much. I might not use any fingers on it, actually. That brings us to our latest t-shirt,
guys. Paki's wearing it right now. Yeah, designed by the guy on the other side of the camera, Matt.
I know there's a lot of two-handed haters out there. If you are a two-hander, you can wear
it ironically like Paki does. Promo code new at thehousebowling.com gets you 10% off all t-shirts
right now. Pick up a Real Bowlers Use Their Thumb t-shirt. If you want to vote for Anaheim
Williams in the upcoming election, grab one of those shirts as well. Also brought to you by
myself and my wife. Promo code new at thehousebowling.com. This is not like a
power thing. It's like 1000% keep it on the lane. Two, baby. Your ball stayed on the deck.
Is that worth extra? No fingers at all on this one. Cradle it like a lacrosse stick.
Okay. All right. That was pretty good. It's only five though. Yeah, but you doubled me.
He's going to need at least four here to stay alive. The ultimate strategist over here.
Did that come off your fingers like a basketball? Kind of. That was pretty good. I felt like if I
threw it further, it would have less chance to skip in a certain direction. I like that. So
my last shot, I kind of rolled off that index finger. I think the no fingers is probably the
way to go. I would agree. I just don't have a lot of confidence. Just put a little fingertip in there.
Just the tip? Just the tip.
Okay. Two again to get knocked out. No fingers launching down there. Definitely the play.
What, two? The fact that you got two, two different ways on back to back shots. To lose by one.
You've bowled long enough. You've seen somebody who gets two and you know how rare it is.
And he just did it back to back shots. On to competition number three. We're going to do a
split shooting competition and we're just going to see who can make it. I feel like I'm dialed
that overhand now. So maybe you'll shoot your split overhand. Are we just going first one to
make it? First one to make it wins. This is like a backyard barbecue where you're playing yard
games and it's just fun. I'm enjoying myself. And the last one always counts for double.
Okay. Last one counts for double. If I win this challenge, you edit the video. Deal. I wouldn't
do that to you guys. My audience, I wouldn't do that to you. I will edit the video. I promise.
You don't want to see Packy edit it. That's garbage. Oh. Redo. Cut. Matt, take that out
of the video. That doesn't belong in there. I'll edit it. Don't worry, guys. Take it out. Cut it.
Do you hear it? Yeah. Yeah. We switched from the 3.7 to the 1.7 because we were so accurate with
the three pound ball that we figured we needed to make it easier. The old left gutter, right gutter.
This is our first try. I like that one. This could take an hour. This could take one shot.
I hope it takes two more shots. Oh, that's pretty good.
All right. It took one shot. Would you like a rebuttal chance? I would like to shoot it again
just because it's fun. Okay. I'll give you one more because it's fun. You want something crazy
just because it's fun? Our audience wants to see the 1.710, I feel like. So this is the last shot
of the video. Thank you for hanging out with the goofy cameraman. I'll probably be on camera a
little more going forward. What do you think? Let us know down below in the comments. This
channel means a lot to me over the years. Thank you guys for watching. Our goal is to make bowling
fun and make bowling look cool. He does an excellent job of that. We do a good job of that
as a team. Thank you for watching. That was close. You should take a shot at it. All right. Matt
tried to do the walkaway last shot, but he missed them all, which means automatically
I have to get another shot. It's got to be one more.
Dude, you just showed up today. We're on one today. Usually I am terrible at these.
Time to show up my cameraman. Thank you guys for watching. Once again,
TheHouseBowling.com. All you got to do is type in code new at checkout. You can get this shirt
or any of the other ones Matt and his wife designed for us. For everybody else out there
who just stuck around for the video, thanks for watching and we'll catch you guys in the next one.
Peace.
