Welcome back 💛 This week I’m sharing a calm, cozy pregnancy vlog — a mix of real life with gestational diabetes and some healthy sweet treats I’ve been loving lately.
I’ll show you how I make a couple of low GI oat-based desserts that are simple, satisfying, and blood-sugar-friendly — perfect if you’re navigating gestational diabetes or just want to eat a bit healthier during pregnancy. 🍪✨
There’s also a bit of nesting mode going on — washing and organizing baby clothes, tiny socks, and newborn essentials 🍼 It’s such a surreal and heartwarming part of this journey.
If you’re into healthy living, gentle routines, and aesthetic pregnancy diaries, this one’s for you. 🌿
I've been obsessed with oats lately. Where has it been my whole life?
I never used to even look at oats to be honest before this whole low GI diet has started
which I feel like I've missed out. So exploring another delicious guilt-free
Almost the same ingredients as the oats jar we made but this time instead of fruit I'm using
black sesame. We'll make a black sesame version of an oat ball. For oats we'll also add about 30
which is roughly about this much. We will mix it with black sesame powder which I found in Asian
groceries and there's no sugar in it. This is just pure grinded black sesame which is a very good
source of protein and fat. We'll add a little bit. Soak the whole lot with soy milk. Again sweetener
and mix well. For the cream base a couple of spoonfuls of the no added sugar greek yogurt
more black sesame, some almond meal to thicken up the texture
and sweetener as our source of sweetness
I can smell the nutty fragrance from the black sesame. It'll be good. Almost looks a little bit
like a cookie and cream ice cream doesn't it? Adding half of the oats into a container
as our base level. Top with the black sesame cream and finish with the rest of the soaked oats
I might even sprinkle a little bit more of the dry oats just to cover the surface
just a few more flicks. This is our oats cake box. A couple of hours in the fridge
we've got a delicious black sesame oats cake
I've just put a load of baby washing on. While we're waiting for that I'm thinking we can explore
another oats dessert recipe. This is just something I'm experimenting. It is the first time I'm trying
I think it should or might work but we'll find out soon. I've got the oven preheated to
180 degrees so I'm thinking to make some oats cookies. I've got oats, soy milk. I want to make
a chocolate flavoured one. I don't have cocoa powder but I've got some sugar-free drinking
chocolate so that might work and just some stevia for extra sweetness. Egg as our bonding agent
I'll see if one egg is enough. If not we can always crack in another one
